#Early-mid account not played since 2018. Continue or start over?

Bit of a personal choice, ofc, but I want your opinion. I haven't played for 7 years and I felt like playing again after watching some videos on yt.
The account isn't very far into anything. The reason why I'd want to go with a new one is to experience how the "iron meta" has evolved since 2018.
But of course I dunno if it's worth giving up on this account's progress just for that. In particular, I remember hating questing, and I have 2/3s of the quests done on this account.

IMHO the early iron meta isn’t so different that the progression prior to that point would really look that different. there’s a few new quests and shops but nothing revolutionary

ofc, it’s your account and your life and i see the appeal in starting over. but i think if trying new content is the appeal you’re closer to doing so on your pre existing account than a new one

My biggest fear is that once I get to the questing part, I'll just feel like quitting cause it's just painful to do these quests for the 10th time.
Also I actually think I'm pretty early in terms of progression. I checked and I had just started legend's quest so I assume I was going to finish barrows gloves before I quit back then.

not quite so stark but i picked up an account this year after it sat dormant for 2-3 yrs. a few months in i don’t think i wouldve gained anything from resetting but i did also consider it

yeah you’ve got loads to work on for sure! b ring is also a reasonable goal (though not much has changed there meta wise)

I would definitely stick to this account as any progress done is never wasted. You will get to experience early game if you ever decide to make another account or just play leagues. Nice farming btw

Bgloves into green dragons for piety is the obvious route for now. As well as just leveling up any skills. I would just look to explore and have fun for a while to spark enjoyment in the game

If you don't enjoy questing I would definitely not start over. Finishing all quests is still as good as ever.

A lot of quests got more xp added to them you can talk to perdu for the extra xp and for skill choice xp it is quest specific

Don't forget to use defender for dragons! Protect from magic blocks enough regular dragon fire, if you have antifire pots that blocks the rest but is optional. Rest items b ring, prossy, str gear, super pots. Thralls are good too.

Dragonfire protection works in layers. Each layer reduces it by a certain % leading to some combinations completely negating it. It’s not new, it’s just not something many people consider but since green dragons are super weak, you don’t take too much damage with just the one magic prayer layer
