#How long did it take for you to not suck at sepulcher?

I’m sitting at 80 agi, with ~270 completed level 3 runs and am just total ass at it.

I’ve watched He Box Jobge’s guide, downloaded the tile pack, but more often than not I’m hitting 35-40 seconds on floor 1, 50-60 on floor 2, and a whopping 1:40 on floor 3 (only looting F3 portal). I’m struggling to hit keep 55k/hr let alone the “reasonable” 65k/hr the wiki lists for looting floor 3. At this point I’m better off at Rellekka roofs for a braindead 63k/hr.

My biggest issue is dodging the crossbow statutes, the tilepack’s “dodge on these tiles” markers only work if you arrive tick perfect. So I’m always either clicking too far and getting hit while pathing, or not clicking far enough and burning time walking sideways.

Those of you who have done the sepulcher grind: how long did it take for you to hit consistent times?

Very few people don't suck at sepulchre

you start to get good at it then u begin greeding more multiskilling and then u start sucking again

Sepulchre is definitely content where having your true tile shown is super beneficial, if you don't have that already. Lots of the "skips" that are shown do rely on tick-perfect movement yes, but there always tends to be a backup to fall upon, or good movement in general will get you through it once you understand the timing patterns.

The crossbow darts can have very jank hit detection at times, but in general it will help to look ahead. For example, Here I can see that the far left column is safe for the first two sets, but the third will leave middle safe. So as soon as I can see my true tile reach / pass the 2nd set of arrows, I focus on clicking a tile or two ahead of my true tile, into the 2nd column, then continue on doing the same with the set coming after.

not really specific advice but more of a general principle that influences all movement: when you click a tile to move to, you don’t start moving until the following tick. getting comfortable with this is probably step 1.

oh also private instance - ur giga griefed by randoms without it

sep is probably the content that has the highest demands on precise movement, rest of the game doesnt really matter at all
i remember when i started too it was a little jarring cause i was so used to the game being super casual about movement

#

i specifically remember the floor 3 ending puzzle was a big headache
it took me a while to understand what the tiles actually meant and it took some time to click

#

i would still suggest doing it because

  • get good at these movements will make floor 5 easier
  • right now your xp/h is comparable with a rooftop course, but later on sep will pull ahead even with mistakes

sepulchre is definitely just keep doing it until u got it down, eventually it just turns brainless and you can alch or fletch

#

knowing all the skips helps a lot too like skipping most of floor 3 traps by having good timing

Probably a couple dozen hours to get the hang of it. It's pretty difficult stuff especially if you have little experience with raiding

Are you colorblind?

The he box junge tile pack is not colorblind friendly at all. Eg floor 3 last section with the flame + bolts has the statues with green and yellow labelled ( same fucking color for me ) and it helped me a lot understanding why the tiles were marked and remarking them with colors that I can differentiate

Solution is simple, arrive tick perfectly. It's a lot easier to play floors 1-3 like a machine than winging it

#

For crossbows if you miss a tick or two you can either click two tiles back from the marked ones or mark additional tiles if you're consistently late (this tends to happen to me on floor 3 enchant side)

Also safing bolts by moving sideways is fine, losing ticks only hurts if it messes up a skip or a flame cycle. F3 has a couple of these

he's correct that the final puzzle on floor 3 gets a lot easier when you do everything consistently

#

there should really only be 3 solves to remember: getting swordskip, not getting swordskip and enchant side

RE: the final part of floor 3, once you get comfortable with it, you can tick perfect start running, then run diagonally (2 tiles down, 1 across) to shift into the safe column from the darts

Took me a couple hours as well until I could comfortably get consistent run times. Would definitely encourage to get the tick-perfect methods down for floors 1 and 2 ASAP as they’re pretty easy and can let you brain-off.

floor 1 especially as after the first flame walls, you can usually red-x the end stairs and AFK path to the end (if dart statue doesnt fire in your column path) / until the next tick-perfect tile (specifically to avoid stalling while fletching)

For Those Who Come After:

At around 320 clears I started getting consistently within 10seconds of perfect on floors 1-3 (63k xp/hr with looting) That’s about 13 hours 😅.

The biggest help was just sitting on the F3 long dart + teleports trap and drilling it over and over for an hour or two. Practicing moving back to the center lane immediately after each dart instead of continuing in whatever lane until the next shot is revealed.
