Just started the Rex grind. this is also my first time playing RS. Food is my issue at rex. I can only stay 8-10 kills before having to TP out. Rarely getting food drops.
Anyways, my question is; should i train higher defense at crab during my offtime (work) to help survive the little fish that attack? does that help?

It helps, but not by a lot. Your setup is really good
Are you xlogging to get into position? If you get into the safespot with a full inventory of food you should be able to stay for like 12+ kills even at 50 def, and the somewhat common food drops can extend that to 20+ on average

Ah, I'm getting there with maybe like 10 swordfish. Even when I protect range I get hit with some high number running there.

here's how to xlog:
you pray mage when entering the room. If prime is on you, go back up. If prime is not on you, regardless of whether supreme is on you, run south immediately and swap to pray range. Run along the south edge with prot range up until you're all the way east
Then, once east (pray range still up), trap rex in the safespot, sip a ppot so you're at least 40 prayer points or so, and click x to close the client
Wait up to a minute for supreme to walk away, log back on (or try a different world but there's a risk you're crashing someone). You're now on the east side and can deal with rex only, you're out of range of prime and supreme

you only need to carry 1-2 ppots
also id recommend karambwans over swordfish
you can buy them at alfonse in brimhaven

karambwans are better, healing 18 over 16
cheese potatoes are famous for being very cheap, but ideally you'd go for quality

Only about 40 kills in and really enjoying this step. Prep work isn't too bad either.
Was just the fish hitting for 8-10x2 sometimes hurts

Nice gl 😄 if you get into position with like 20 karambwans (20x18 = 360 healing) instead of 10 swordfish (10x14 = 140 healing) you should immediately notice a big difference

GL mate on the same grind, also u prob dont need 2 ppots if u wanna grab 1 more food item, i havent ever needed more than 4 doses in all my kc

nah this doesnt do anything, you dont pray while in the room
id recommend adding alchs for between the kills if you can, theres a lot of downtime

From warrior guild? You could make pineapple pizza from plain pizzas bought there, it's 22 healing per inventory slot for cheaper than karambwans
