Early mid-game hcim just returning to the game, used to afk motherlode on occasion. What would you guys do with these ores? Are they worth smelting in BF and using them in the new smithing minigame? Not very familiar with the new minigame

Giants foundry is definitely worth it. If you like mlm, which is a totally fine afk method for mining, then you’ll eventually get plenty of ores. Check out the wiki page and it’ll tell you which moulds to buy with your points first, and it’ll explain the 9:19 method.
While gold ore at BF may technically be the better EHP method, giants foundry gives like 10x EXP per bar than regular smithing.
Also, side note, check out calcified rocks for mining afk. They’re a very afk mining method that gives prayer EXP when offered to a special alter in Varlamore

Right but squeezing more xp out of a resource doesnt make much sense when you can use the time saved to just get more resources

you are hundreds of hours of grinds away from being in midgame, 400 bars is nothing, get atleasts 1000mith+addy so you can at least unlock moulds

Unfortunately smiting meta is just to use gp and buy gold. You can do gf if you want the ammo mould or the clogs but in general its more tedious than blast furnace as in my opinion giants foundry* is the worst designed game play loop of any minigame.
A big ironman trap is the idea of using all resources you collect.

certain bars should be used it's just that you benefit more from making platebodies, alching them, and buying gold ore than you do from throwing them into GF

Like Fez said in a different way, if you make and alch the platebodies, then use said gp to buy gold ore to smelt at blast furnace, you get more efficient xp/bar.

well, it's less xp/bar, but you spend much less time doing the smithing. then you can use the time you saved to make gp to buy more gold ore

yes its not ehp but factoring in the slight profit vs heavy gp loss it shouldnt be that drastic to be saying its a solid method

looking at the wiki the xp per hour seems to be similar to gold/rune hybrid but with profitting

doesn't seem so unless im mistaken. checking the wiki and the act of smithing addy plates seems to be slightly higher than GF but if u factor in doing addy in BF then it with those xp rates it shoudnt be better. but kinda moot comparison since BF is intense vs reclined
i do agree that wasting xp is a myth though but im focused on the GF discussion more

the real problem is you need banked ores to even do either method
or banked rune platebodies
so it kinda throws everything out the window anyways

The most efficient answer would be blast furnace, I wanted to change it up so allbeit slower, I did giants foundry from 55-70 and took less than 1k mith, 1k steel bars (mith & coal ores from 72 mining @ MLM grind and brought iron ores from BF) and enjoyed it tbh, much more fun than BF. I think what you enjoy doing is more important than whats the most efficient as sometimes the most efficient things can take longer if you hold it off from not enjoying it.
