this is outdated i believe. Although i would guess the ratios would remain relatively unchanged solo vs team, the odds of green log and number of purples would be different

Mvp bonus in 8 man's is quite insane boost to purples. If you can consistently mvp a room or 2 every raid then id say 8 mans would be better but in general soon as you up the team size from 3 to 4 people your personal purple chance goes down.
Plus you have to wait for teammates. Tldr if you can stand to do solo toas then its probably the play. Personally I find solos hard to grind.
