Hello ironfriends. Just to preface I only play a hour or so on weekdays due to work/school. Currently Dry at TDS (1.5k kc) for synapse. Had to stop entirely to get more charges, crystal shards, and boosting potions. I'm mostly back up to what i need to continue farming however I am nearly out of blood fury charges. I've been attempting to gather more blood shards but worlds are horribly crowded and pickocketing isn't horrible but it's not as mobile friendly as i thought. I also have done DPS calcs and seen that magic does a great deal more damage than bowfa. Would it be worth it to continue to grind for blood shards or is there anything specific that would help assist me with my kills?

Out of curiosity, why no b ring?
Somebody can correct me but is RCB on accurate good for heavy range attack? I used ACB so I’m not sure personally
agree. take more food, see if strength amulet beats fury if you need, but blood fury is a huge waste
Nvm you’re using mage, I’m blind
FWIW, prayer conservation
Prayer pots are free. Just use them
do you have anguish or torture?
no tort, i do have an ang
if you do swap back to range at all i’d definitely bring - maybe you were but boosting your dps there will help a lot overall
Got it, feeling of dryness gives me mild brain damage.
mage is significantly more expensive and soul runes are annoying to obtain which is fine if you can deal with those, but that’s part of why range is preferred often
i don’t blame you at all haha
rough place to be dry
when i'm afking i just charge orbs and i've made 20m in the last week or so
money isn't a huge deal
made slight changes. I'll finetune it overtime.
i used a lot of charges here no lie and i only needed to bring 2 pieces of food
I would also bring tassets if you have because archlight scales very heavily with strentgh bonus. As already said, str ammy may be better than fury especially because no divine strength/supercombat potion.
Praypot meta I believe is to have a lot of passive ranarrs from sepu and hard farming contracts, some pvm profits them and if all else fails, pickpocket master farmers to keep praying piety at all active combat situations. This might assume a high thieving level and desire for all kinds of xp so take it with a grain of salt vs your personal goals
sadly no tassets. May consider running some bandos. I do have obsidian legs but im not sure if the +1 str bonus is worth it
p sure it'll be a max with arclight in that setup but check the calc
arclight is whack
I'd send bandos at least until bgs, just tassets by themselves I might not grind for a second time because they're not that large of an updgrade. Gl if you go back!
Worth doing the calc! You'll have to do it for each str level between your top and lowest tolerated if not using divine pots though. Divine str + regular atk might be better than super combat here anyway though and makes it easier to analyse
@tall dust People often ask about prayer pots and piety, may I ask your opinion of: is it possible to have low enough thieving such that it's better to downgrade piety to say 10% prayer? Lets also assume we only care about kill times, not skilling xp.
I would rather 1t flick than lose out on DPS personally
I did all of 99 Slayer with 1t flicking so that's my view
Piety stays on
also why does thieving matter here btw
alternative to sepulchre is contracts, nechs, dags not MFs
I'd really love some recommendations to other people but fair enough 😁
ah, sorry I thought it's MFs if only valuing kill times, not skilling xp
I think tracts are faster even otherwise because you can do other stuff while waiting for tract to grow whereas you can't with MFs (continuous process)
But the "other stuff" is typically "not slayer" and thus "skilling xp" so it gets complicated
Generally this is basically a "plan ahead one way or the other" story
If you need ppots at this exact moment and refuse to do anything else then the fallback is MFs
But it's hard to be in that position
Cuz of stuff like ToA
I take it's not a conclusive answer but "do as much contracts all the time and MFs if you must" sounds reasonable. Planning ahead would be ideal, I'd just like to have something to give for people who don't yet know what they want or how to plan it
Thank you
Yeah Sepulchre and contracts are top priority, after that is melee nechs and barrage dags
That should cover you until ToA, and ToA should cover the rest honestly
If you somehow run out after that and refuse to do an ounce of skilling then sure yeah the only recourse is MFs
But with VW grind becoming a staple you also get a couple hundred seeds from Artio/Callisto etc.
So it's really getting hard to run out of ranarr + snapdragon seeds these days
yea only thing that can happen is if you don't do any sep at the beginning and then also slayer-skip completely
and then yea it may be tight initially altho typically those types go rush toa right away so you shouuuuld get a lot of seeds...
i did that initially and when i ran low i just sent toa until i had some lol. def would pick that over MFs
Those are great pointers, I feel like I have a better grasp of the whole now!
I love how you get complementary spidey eggs from spindel too for snappies, makes me feel less bad for aborting my vw grind xD
Yea exactly you get tons of supplies from those
Actually you get magic logs for your birdhouses too
And trust me I HATE doing hourlies
But I still did them xd
If you guys are routing in the new prayers before toa or whatever
You get decent amount of ranarrs from ice royal titan
Making yourself do shit you hate is kinda essential part of the ironman experience xd
Referring to...?
deadeye
can confirm, I was one of those and I have loads and loads of ranarrs/snaps
not wanting to kill spidines is more of a barrier unironically
deadass lol
I have 3 bcp's hilt no tassets
DPS calc is giving 0 difference so i guess im chilling for now
i think this is right
Low returns for going back I think. Tassets don't often even make it to raids setups. You can already make bis if going for torva. If you need godsword pieces that might be a reason to roll the dice some more but there's other generals too
one day
thanks for the discussion tho, I do have plenty of seeds, i just needed to spend a few days planting them
i'm back at tds rn and i'm a bit rusty getting my ass kicked.
I switched archlight style to stab/controlled (td's weakness)
Oooh look at that fury is actually better dps despite str ammy giving 2 more maxes. TD's are tanky. AND obby legs gives 2 maxes with with fury, the best setup among these (stab/controlled style)
