#Barb fishing to 99 - Bad idea?

I'm following BRUHsailer guide and almost done with chapter 1.

I've got 90 fishing and would like to push to 99. However, my buddy said that I'll need a shit of bwans and that I should just fish bwans from like 92-99.

Is the IM endgame meta to fish and cook bwans? Or is it to buy already cooked somewhere? I know BRUH says barb fish to 99 to dip into different skill XP, but will I end up fishing 20K+ bwans at 99 fishing just for the bwans?

Yeah, I barb fished to 98 and just turned bwans to my AFK at work thing for the last level to avoid shopscaping.

I will also note that I bought and cooked 42k karams as part of 99 Cooking after getting 80 from 99 Fishing at Barb (rest came from 5k anglers). I still have like 20-22k left around 5 years later... basically you will probably go through around 30k karams lifetime unless you plan on potting a lot of food Corp, which will deplete your stack like crazy

Otherwise, just buy and cook the karams as needed to buffer 99 Cooking post-Barb post-grapes from Vork/Zulrah, cuz you will probably get enough hard food from other PVM to sustain other PVM. For example, Vork, Zulrah, DT2 bosses all give you thousands and thousands of mantas, sharks, turtles, etc.
