Clicking once every 30s or 1min doesn't always work for me if I'm working on other stuff. I'm not a good multitasker..
At what point is it better to afk contracts + bird runs once an hour? 84 farm, 71 hunter, 69 herb...

daeyalt is good for semi-afk, but not what you are looking for. Fishing karams are very popular, but I think bad. You can buy karams so fast it feels like wasted time to fish them imo.
The one I have mostly been doing is like you mentioned with contracts / bird house runs. Once an hour or two I get on and take like 5-10mins to do them, then back off.
Amethyst and redwoods I haven't made it to yet, but hear they are good as well

Woodcutting yews or magics in woodcutting guild is also a pretty decent “long afk” method, though I think shooting stars, combat training (NMZ or crabs), and farm runs/contracts/treehouses on cooldown are the most impactful afk methods.

Afk combats to 99, I sit at ammonites for hours at work. I just listen to the genocide of crabs until I hear silence and I know my aggression timer is up and I need to reset it. 2 clicks every 10 minutes.

once you hit level 60 id move to nmz, its quite a bit higher xp
also sand crabs are generally better than ammonite

sand vs ammonite is the same xp but sand is less competitive. You can lose a lot of xp to busy worlds/hopping/crashers

I find NMZ not afk enough for me, having to worry about keeping my hp at 1 or 2. But Sand crabs I may try.

I read the guide, I’m not talking about overloads I’m talking about the absorbs. You still want to camp 1hp to maximize absorbs. Also that’s why I said for me, I have “OCD” tendencies and knowing I could just glance at osrs and double click my quick prayer would bug me not too.

Not sure why you would do crabs over nmz after 60, even regardless of xp you still gotta reset at crabs and can get crashed... worst case, nmz easy, less xp but can swap to 20 min afk cycles
Lots of good feedback, probably going to still mainly focus on birdhouse + farming contracts for now. Sprinkle in some nmz hard.
Seems like karams probably not worth it if you can shopscape so many and it's not that afk with bank+fairy. Cooking + glass later is probably fine as well. Not high enough for amethyst and redwoods.
Pre 72 mining/crafting I really liked stars, short/medium term I don't really need either at the moment so seems less worth it for now. And I have better afk alternatives.

i fished like 50k bwans, but have started doing quidamortem barb fishing with fish barrel and i wish i had been doing that from the start

40k-45k xp/hr very AFK.
Kill Ankou's in the Wildy for dark fishing bait. Did 85-99 and banked 50k raw crabs.

Nearly all of my maxing was done with afk methods whilst playing other games. The Dark Crab one was by far the most underrated. All the others are 'mainstream' and well known. But Crabs is slept on imo.

When I did it I didn't experience many players in High-Risk worlds. I think I died maybe 20-30 times total from 85-99
Was getting 35k-40k xp/hr minimum. Considering Barb fishing is 60k xp/hr or something like that if done casually. I felt like the -20k xp/hr sacrifice for +AFK and +Hard 22hp food for the rest of the account's existance was very worth it. But it depends how much you value AFK time.
Use wilderness Player Alarm to flash screen for PKers.
If the pker is in low risk, run to axe hut with lockpick
