#Swift Blade

Im not sure many ppl have done that so ill just tell my experience as someone who only got the msb scroll
my pk skill was 1/10 (upgraded into 2/10 midway through) and it took me 1h to get 5 points
I killed players that were somehow even worse than me more often than bots
Find a time when there are a lot of bots and u can easily get 5+ points a game
Change your loadout for the high and medium level modes to have 0 mage gear and change their spellbooks to Lunar and you can get a lot of kills and even wins with Vengeance
If you're inexperienced just suicide if you get the low level mode and your first opponent isn't a bot that just falls over
You can get into a new game almost immediately and Vengeance makes it much much easier
I'm trying to decide if I should take the rng path of ham joint or the lms route and I want an idea of the hours I might spend for swift blade. I was planning on doing range tank strat if I went lms, but ham joint is looking like ~25 hours on rate.
ham joint is also useful in PNM
it's just inconvenient in tob
swift blade is eeeeever so slightly better with the slightly higher stab bonuses on avernic
but it's so inconsequential that I think ham is perfectly fine if you cba going to LMS
If you go early eastern time to LMS. (current time of posting this message), you'll find games full of bots. Make sure you go to the highest populated LMS world if there are two.
I was probably a 1 on the pvp scale. By the end of it maybe a 3 or 4?
It was really fun for me and I enjoyed grinding out the rune pouch and rune arrows as well
Hard to rate myself Pvp-wise, but I was probably a 2/10 starting the grind. Ended a 5/10 tops. 20 points per hour was what I average. Made me really enjoy lms and still to back. Hard to get past the initial skill issue, but actively trying to get better makes it an enjoyable experience. Can't rage over veng rag bolt, or dd bridding.
It depends way more on what times you play during rather than your pvp skill
My uim has like a 90% winrate cause i went for my rune pouch during dead hours and most games had 3-4 real humans at most
You definitely want to freeze if you wanna kill anything other than bots
Freeze step under is super broken and most ppl have no idea what to do
Entity hider on yourself and player outline helps with the above ^
I feel like i had the opposite experience but i only went for 100 points or so and only 1 day so maybe not enough medium skill ppl
but to me i could beat pretty much all the noobs and pretty quickly with veng
and the ppl i lost to were very clearly more skilled than me at lms
Problem with veng is that if your opponent realises when he steps out to attack, if he goes 1 tile diagonal your only option is to range
So all of your hits will be on prayer
Really screws you over if they do it right
Bc they can still melee and move back and you aren't reacting within that 1t
Ye i don't think venge is enough to make up for that at all
Ancients is just too good
I think venging as a low skill pker is a noobtrap, im sure its good if you are already good at pking
You really need to know how to stack your venges with a big spec for kos
you might only be able to range but it makes it easier to focus on your own prayers
Im also bad at pvp but thats my interpretation
and as soon as ur unfrozen u can veng and spec them out
that worked a lot of the time on the medium skilled barrager pkers
i even beat a god pker that way although it was prob mostly luck
Yeah you definitely have ko potential with stacks
i dont actually know how veng would be for a 0 skill pker but i dont think they'd even be good enough to click barrage on the enemy without losing 10 ticks and dying tbf
Reminds me of the lms clip on reddit last week
Guy complaining he spent like 7 hours and got 1 point
i think if you're worse than me at lms ur just kinda doomed if u meet a real player ngl
lmao
I do appreciate someone finally estimating their points per hour. Again the point of the post was to gauge where my time would be better spent between swift blade and ham joint, not get tips at lms.
One benefit to rag bolting is you can often live a lot longer and get more points by placing higher assuming you killed your first matchup
the problem with estimating is that it depends 100% on time of day and amount of bots
Tbf I think it is really just that a lot of people won't go for it on an iron
pretty sure i got like 50 points an hour at one points cuz i won every game
but thats cuz not a single good pker was playing
I feel like someone going for the 350 points (or more) would probably have a decent average compared to someone just going 75 points for pouch.
Unless you literally only log on for lms at very specific times.
The only other valuable item on the easy clue table is maybe the cape of skulls pre-avarice.
So if averaging even 15 points an hour at lms, then swift blade should be worth it over ham joint.
If you are at the point where you want either, you just get both
Why would you want both?
max eff tob and nm
does ham joint offer something over event rpg at nm? also I honestly don't see myself doing nm
not really
basically the same thing
ham joint 1 handed and can be worn with defender for higher max, really about it
and the extra maxes dont matter when you grind nm, as you have plenty of str bonus already
Yeah I think I'll just commit to swift blade.
can u link that?

Rip
It was bad.
Think of the worst pker you could imagine, then make it worse. 1 click every 3 seconds
Although it isnt directly related to the question at hand. Attempting to learn to pk will make the grind much less miserable. If you go in with the mindset of killing bots you will still be frustrated when they rag bolt you higher than you are hitting them for. I'd commit to learning actual PK tech for the duration. This includes but is not limited to: armor flicking, freezing and standing under, weapon hiding with potion, and gear faking. Try a little bit of each, each encounter, and eventually it will all click. I am by no means a good pker, but I can confidently make it to top 3 almost every LMS game, because there tend to be few genuinely good pkers in a single lobby.
