#Crafting a fury

I'm currently on the crafting grind, planning to go until I can craft all of the zenyte jewelery. Would it be worth it to craft a fury, or would it be better to just skip it and go straight for the zenyte jewelery?

I imagine it depends on content and if you plan on grinding something that drops onyxes/can sell runes.

Fury is a good defensive ammy but I’m not sure the “meta” currently

Yeah just skip the fury it's only good in niche spots

I recommend skipping it entirely, to the point that I think crafting one is a noob trap

#

it is a niche amulet. A blood fury is strong but has its own list of concerns (it takes really long to get blood shards)

#

and the regular fury is kinda just bad most of the time, especially if you have access to zenytes

#

id make a fury only if you plan on upgrading it to a blood fury quite soon after

The argument is it isn’t a big upgrade over a glory and costs ~3m in runes for an amulet that you’ll rarely use once you’re done with crafting

It's also often worse than a strength ammy when meleeing, and you ideally make torture first.

toxic ether

I think the strength amulet point is a poor argument since there are almost no situations where that’s the case unless you’re fighting sand crabs or something

worthy bramble

It's true basically the entire time you're slaying pre torture. Which shouldn't be very long, but it'll be true for longer if you punt away your money and an onyx for a fury instead of a torture

toxic ether

Melee accuracy is actually very good which is the main reason torture is so strong

On slayer mobs I think str ammy wins the vast majority of the time?

#

It's not like 93 crafting is that hard to get anyway.

fickle hill
#

not hard, but its long and boring, imagine doing fun content inbetween

iron trellis
#

There are zero time crafting methods

#

Also slayer being fun is subjective, although I do like it

id imagine most players arent going to be clicking rocks and molten glass for dozens of hours before dipping into pvm - even if it is more efficient

worthy bramble
#

Totally reasonable to do that fun content with a glory or str ammy over punting away your resources for something you're going to replace. At least the other two are effectively free.

#

That being said this discussion happens a ton and a ton of people will continue to make a fury so idk if it matters.

fickle hill

ill always use fury over str ammy, fury is just iconic for me, str ammy feels bad, maybe im just oldschool

iron trellis

Considering OP asked about skipping I assume they have the tolerance to go straight for 93+. Preferences may vary

I do think if gp isn’t an object for you then making fury isn’t the worst move in the world since eventually blood fury is nice for high level pvm

#

But the argument is efficiently you’re doing crafting when gp DOES matter

I’ll mention that runite ore does give a lot of tokul for Onyxs. Save your chaoses. IMO

iron trellis

For a shadow? You can buy chaoses super fast. I'd rather take the rune darts

a lot of people struggle to realise that, even if they do make a fury, and they are gearing up in the bank to go for some melee combat, choosing to equip the fury over a strength ammy is actively slowing them down. It's not like "one is more expensive but slightly better" or "not everybody wants to train to a fury" or something like that - even if you somehow did make it, choosing to equip it is a downgrade

#

so I recommend not making it in the first place, its main purpose is decorating your bank until you have blood shards

lapis estuary
#

Ahh I get you

#

I always see a lot of efficiency advice that's basically like "don't do this it wastes 3 hours of your time towards max" but it's like, okay, but that's nothing, so I don't care.
That's how I viewed this because it's like, some people might have the gp and also not want to grind out the zenytes yet etc.

But this is advice I can get behind because it's an actual decrease in stats and actively slows down your progression

main thing is that 3m takes time to get too
might as well use that money and buy 70 smithing

#

sure later on when ur doing nex and need BF the 3m is a drop in the bucket
