generally barrows is considered a bad use of time, so people kill the 6 brothers and then use their hallowed lockpicks to quickly get to the centre without getting any more percent

Okay, because this would be my first barrow runes too. I havent completed any until now since I unlocked the mory hard.

some people prefer to include killing one or two mobs as they're running towards it, i.e. with mage or range
its a bad but very popular strategy to go for ~86% or to kill some specific enemies
but personally I wouldnt

The most useful part of barrows was motivating me to do sepulchre so i could spend less time at barrows, get a set and dip, horrible content

Honestly i am a strong advocate of 66% runs, you still profit runes for trident and u get ur items significantly faster.
I used to be 86% andy for a long time but the time save is so much more worth it over the small amount of extra deaths/bloods u get

People seem to be really unaware of exactly how many runes you get going for 99 rc and 98 agility, it's way more than you'd ever need (lets not mention shadow and scythe yet pls) and barrows is a really slow way to get them.

It seems to be this low level mindset thing where gp and rune stacks are low and they think barrows is good at that account stage, when in reality it doesn't save any time at all doing it early, in fact it loses time in the long run

well you still need to buy deaths for maxing
but not bloods so that's nice XD
that said the grinds furnish the GP for buying the deaths so that's good
(this is because ice barrage uses 2 bloods 4 deaths, and you get enough bloods)

I think it's sometimes backwards. People want to barrows but only allow themselves to do it if it's 'good', so excuses need to be invented for all alternatives

FWIW I have been inventing an excuse to use Karils at Kree'arra 
I think the main win of not taking bowfa for someone who mostly chins the entire kill is that I get a shield, which is kinda noticeable. +80 ranged defense holy
(well it's +170 ranged def with karils + crystal shield, vs +106 with just crystal top + bottom)
that said I could just as easily use blessed armadyl d'hide and lose no offensive power for +166 ranged defense instead of +170 lmao
