So I have loosely been following Oziris v4 guide just to have a gameplan out of the early game, and I'm wondering where GOTR fits in with my current plans. I am at a point where the guide recommends buying a whole bunch of gold ore to smelt and turn into bracelets for alching, and so going to the mage bank and buying 5k nats is recommended. At this point I thought banging out some GOTR to get a healthy stack of nats and laws would be useful, but some seem to think getting NPC Contact is almost a necessity for GOTR, so unsure if I should be skilling up for Lunar Diplomacy, keeping on with the Oziris recommendations, or just sending it on GOTR. Skills included here, crafting would be the one I'd need to focus on for Lunar Diplomacy
#GOTR without NPC Contact?

in no particular order:
- runes from gotr arent that great
- the best gotr method is combination runes which requires 82 magic for magic imbue (lunar spellbook)
- id not make gold bars into bracelets, its a terrible waste of time
- this also means you don't need nature runes
generally speaking im not a fan of oziris v4 at all
you dont need npc contact to repair pouches anymore but as bruh said magic imbue is still highly recommended
can repair at gotr for 25 upfront cost + 1 pearl per complete repair thereafter
(but lunars still very good)
Yeah I just don't even have a main so I had little direction, so just went with it. I think I'm getting to the point where I don't need to follow it anymore, but still just feel overwhelmed by options so I just usually do farm runs/birdhouse runs
good luck, we have a lot of good resources available if you're curious π
Still want to get B gloves and make my way into later game pvm stuff as my main goal
it depends a lot on what you mean with 'later game pvm stuff'. Keep in mind ironman mode is meant to be a self sufficient game mode. It will always be better to level everything else alongside improving your combat stats and gear, just so you have access to the best methods for pvm
if you want to rush into pvm I'd recommend a non-iron account tbh
Nah I don't want non-iron, I like earning what I'm gonna get rather than cashscape, but for later game PvM I want to eventually get to barrows/bossing, I don't have any rush there just want to be semi-efficient with my gains on the way there haha. I've been doing mostly afk combat training at ammonites but deciding what I want to do when actively playing is tougher haha. Are those resources like pins in here or just looking through the question forum here

oh duh lol
very roughly
get to battlestaves> use battlestaves GP for song of the elves, base 70s inc prayer > chin high ranged > bowfa + gauntlet > slayer to 93 all while doing contracts and training herb
gauntlet will be the first meaningful pvm experience both in the fact that it's a grind and it will kick your ass for a while at the start
and it sets you up for decent slayer and is great for pvm down the line
farm runs/birdhouse runs are s-tier psychological safety mechanisms if you overwhelmed tbh
and yeah, main xp limiter in my experience has been gp, so bstaves are popular due to their raw gp/hr and relevant xp (crafting/magic), from there itll fund you while doing quests and reqs for sote as hoofi said
some people get tempted to ride the slayer train all the way to 95 since you have afk tasks, and it gives a taste of gp if you do it inefficiently/frugally, but imo better to get money from skilling/cg and dumping those resources into slayer
my first iron i did the afk slayer tasks and some super poverty methods like ancient macing a combat dummy in POH to get extra prayer to afk in catacombs to save on ranarrs, a few months later I finished Cerb @ 91 slayer with like 500 prayer pots and no idea where to use them since I kept getting more from contracts/pvm, was your typical 99+ megalixir situation
Ok yeah I'm good about doing those runs now, usually can afk them at work so pretty ontop of em. So getting desert treasure, 60 magic, and 58 crafting should be my next goals, the gravestone timer shit is wild haha
I'd say so yeah, crafting, magic and gp are all fairly important early and battlestaves give most of that in an efficient manner
@rose sage @onyx gorge @hallow hornet thank you for the help!
Strongly recommend reading bruhsailer, shit is OP
Short answer is don't do Oziris and do bruhsailor instead
Are you saying to charge unpowered orbs for daily battlestaves? Iβm close to the point I would do this, but was starting to think it was too slow to charge them
Good to know. Thanks!
not daily btw @unborn dawn just bstaves in general
the charging can be sped up using this method

obs randomly stopped recording and actually couldn't be asked redoing it. But that's the method :)

Where do you start to generate decent amounts of battlestaves? And why not dailies?
Well you can do dailies too if you'd like but it's too slow in real-time
It's barely a discount. Around 14 GP saved per staff
Might as well just pay slightly more so that you don't get bottlenecked per day, just spend one day hopping 100 times and buying a ton of staves from the magic guild
(7k/staff vs 7014/staff)
to avoid confusion: you can just buy them in the shop
also I prefer my own vid to saebae's π
its in the faq
Forgot you made one, thanks
Ah didnβt know they were shoppable for the same price!
Does it show the full process similar to karams btw, BRUH?
yes
Nice
Then here you go gwnumb

00:00 Buy in Yanille
00:25 Buy at Baba Yaga
00:50 Set up the pyramid gravestone
03:50 Fill the gravestone
04:55 Enchant the tablets
06:45 Set up the obelisk gravestone
09:02 Fill the gravestone
09:12 Charge the orbs
10:35 NOTE THE GRAVESTONE TIMER
This is a crafting and moneymaking method for lower level ironmen, using Paddewwa tabs to get to ...
including setting up the gravestone at the pyramid and everything
Replace with air orbs if you have access
Yeah unfortunately I didn't read up before going balls deep in oziris but reading now and trying to piece together where I am in bruhsailor
Figuring out doing some MTA to get my magic level up and crafting up for battlestaves in general
Btw gotr without npc contact is really bad. The npc goes through menu options and dialogue with you first, and then she casts the spell. Plus you have to pay, and she's only in the minigame it self. It's fine if you rush it before games but you could be late to the mine if not
It's worth it
You can just start at step 1 and do any quests/diaries etc you missed, and then any items it tells you to grab well you can go back for those when it comes up. You have teleports by the sounds of it so it won't be too bad
Yeah I really like the in depth, Iβm going through step by step to see what I have done and havenβt, and see where we land
I really wish I bothered to do some more researching before blackjacking to 88 π΅βπ«π΅βπ«π΅βπ«
Oh well, blackjacking is fast anyway
Just means you have more gp, can spend less time doing arteglass and more time afk glass making which imo is a win
sorry for replying off topic here but this comment resonates so much with my GIM group that it hurts
I cannot for the life of me convince them to do regular BH or farm runs or follow some other efficient method while they say they like to do slayer (some without Piety/B-ring/Torso) because it is 'fun'
Glad I don't play gim tbh, that sounds awful
it's not that I depend on them, and I know them personally, but still... trying to convince people they can do that content 'better' later on is hard
Yeh fark that
@hallow hornet is a big advocate for doing content solo where you can purely because other people cause a lot of time waste due to being bad
a lot of people enjoy the methods they're familiar with over faster alternatives
also fwiw in most situations that solo vs group issue doesn't come up
I tried to get my friend to help me with dks so I could get supreme kills on my iron, was 2 hours of trying to tell him not to run into prime range. We got a grand total of 4 kc, most of which was me lol :
@left plank I know, I have been reading these chats here for a time now π
if you really want DKs kills at low level (for example for the combat achievements) I'd use a solo method yeah
there's a low level method
I figured out how to use my main in the end, but that's for a different thread
well there's always the giga aids strat of perfectly prayer flicking everything
in which case it doesn't matter how bad your gear is, just that it'll be slow
I wouldn't do it myself but it's in the realm of "theoretically possible"
but even any previous utility for those ring drops has gone even further towards zero with the introduction of the lightbearer
Hey two questions: I'm currently 52 crafting and trying to get up to battlestaves, I've already done some seaweed farming so should I use that and mine sandstone and blow glass orbs til I hit 58?
And for the staves themselves: Are you buying them en masse/hopping worlds at once prior to starting the battlestaff grind or are you buying them as you go?
id buy soda ash and mine sandstone. Using seaweed is slower if you dont have the lunar super glassmake spell
on a similar note I'd avoid farming seaweed if you're below 76 farming. It's a lot faster at 76+ with an attas anima plant, and the seaweed is not useful at low level anyway.
you buy the staves on an as-needed basis, though you can get them ahead of time if you have the starting cash for it
id go for a combination of questing and glass to level your crafting, though I'd only make as many orbs as needed and move to lantern lenses after
Yeah I had just started before seeing this recommendation so had some banked, didn't know if I should use what I have or save it but waiting for super glassmake makes sense. I have a 1.2m cash stack rn cause I blackjacked to 88, so maybe I'll start loading up on staves as part of my dailies.
And in terms of whats needed for orbs, I'm trying to get aligned onto your guide towards the end of Chapter 1 and seeing what I'm missing, is it that ~1500 orbs that's recommended?
its 1600 in ch 1 and another 900 throughout ch 2, though you should have a lot of extra gp from that extra blackjacking
just dont burn that cash stack π
as an aside a lot of people think staves are a daily but you can just buy them in the shop. The daily saves 14 gp each over buying them, its just convenient to buy more at once without hopping if you're already at the shop
Yeah I saw that note, just figured while I'm getting the crafting/magic levels and doing Desert Treasure, might as well just stock up.
side note: I've been going through the entire chapter 1 with a side doc going of what I completed following Oziris and what I've missed, more work than I'm putting towards my job rn
Yea keeping track of macro stuff is rly difficult honestly lol. Took me multiple months to go through Chapter 2 with BRUH, we revised the drafts quite a few times.
