#Hiring a Forge 1.20.1 Developer to create a Small QoL Mod for a Server

[THIS IS A PAID POSITION]

I'm running a decently sized modded server (About 100 whitelisted players at the moment), and we recently switched to using Styled Nicknames (via Sinytra Connector) over Hidden Names for the improved formatting options (and additionally to pair well with the other Styled mods by Patbox we've implemented for the same reasons). However, a key issue is that Styled Nicknames does not change the actual nametag above the player's head, just the chat and tablist names.

So!
I'm looking for a developer to either create a Fork of Styled Nicknames OR a mod compatible with it, to make the Player's Nametag appear as their nickname with proper formatting. Currently, we do have a temporary solution, but it's janky and doesn't work automatically.

In an itemized list, here's what I need from the mod:

  • Make the player's nametag appear as their Styled Nicknames nickname
  • Make the commissioned mod automatic and performant
  • Delivered within a reasonable timeframe (preferably not waiting a Month for this)
  • Make the mod function on the provided version (Forge 1.20.1) and within the server's modpack
  • Be available to fix any future bugs that appear with the mod (I can pay for bugfixes too, that's not an issue)

If you think you're able to do this, DM Request me with your prices and an estimated timeframe, then we can discuss things! Unfortunately I do not have a functioning Paypal, but I should be able to do Ko-Fi payments or Stripe, whichever works for you.

fabric mods being jank in a forge environment is a common problem

#

let me see how big styled nicknames is

autumn hornet
#

No, Patbox just decided not to make the nicknames appear as the nametag for some reason

#

Its intended

#

just... not great for nicknames

I see

#

easy enough fix

Peak!

gentle kestrel
#

quite a few dependencies, I'm going to have to bake those into the cost

autumn hornet
#

The mod itself doesn't have any other mod dependencies but it does use a specific formatting API yeah

gentle kestrel
#

It does have dependencies, they're bundled so they don't need to be downloaded separately, but I still need to port them as a prerequisite.

Alright, thats fair

gentle kestrel
#

that last one looks like an optional one thankfully

#

going to take a bit while I look at the rest of them

autumn hornet
#

Yeah you can ignore anything related to Luckperms or Player Roles

gentle kestrel
#

placeholder API is required and it's 5x bigger than the mod itself

#

after some more looking, my quote is $70

autumn hornet
#

I can do $70, that's no problem

#

What sort of time estimate do you have?

gentle kestrel
#

this thursday or so

#

btw, what's a stripe?
