I mean, crops in Minecraft are usually just one item. How about we get to slice our carrots, peel them, maybe eat the stringier roots... And make it use the same mechanism as Butchery, just add vegetables as new animals. Heh.

It would be interesting to see certain mechanics but having to peel them, cut them, maybe even remove the leaves is going to be a pain since instead of giving you bonus meat like animals, they just give you waste
It would be better if we had different ways to transform them or use other parts of the plant like the seeds (edible ones at least)
For example potatoes, cut them with a knife to get potato strips, and those you can use in different recipes, smash them with another item and you get mashed potatoes
Maybe needing to use a cutting board and different instruments to process it
Alongside with different recipes needing various materials to get better foods

How about culinary construct but its jigsaw puzzles

You fill in a little chessboard with pieces of food and get bonjses based on neighbouring foods

Encouraging variety and well thought out meals

A simple one would be just a chesdboard of meat and veggies, but if balanced properly you could make it so that the player really has to give it their all to get an op food item

Personally as someone who likes to cook I would much rather go with the recipies I know and just the process of how it's done rather than guessing a puzzle just to make a taco
