im just taking a guess but maybe they mean some minerals increase the amplifier and others increase the range
Oh, makes sense. If it's that, I don't think it would be a good addition. Idk,maybe it would make the beacon too overpowered.

Wdym? Use blocks from other mods to build the beacon? This is already possible. Or are you talking about the range?
If you are talking about the range, I'm implementing a way to use datapacks to get the range each item will give. So other mod developers or modpack developers will be able to add there own custom ranges.

I know mods like tinkers make it possible to construct beacons using the metal blocks it adds
Actually, you just need to add the blocks you want to the beacons_base_blocks tag. Idk if the name is correct.
