With a long wait, I'm extremely happy to announce the very first beta release!
(Forge 1.19.2)

Addributes - A niche for all
Minecraft is flawed, not in obvious ways but in ways I've come to realize with my 10+ years of playing. While it's my most played by far, it's nowhere close to my favorite.

Minecraft's pvp/e strategy is like this:
Get the better gear, maybe add end crystals and a shield?, but that's it. That's shallow, boring and I dislike it.
Something I'm a big fan of is strategy, I like the thought of your gear giving you specific buffs, being able to choose a playstyle, and more.

So Addributes does just that,
Want a benefit for wearing no armor?
You wanna use snowballs offensively?
You wanna have a way to use lightning?
We have that.

With so many things to talk about, so much more variation, New enchantments, new curses, new materials, new playstyles, just. New.

Months of work went into this and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have making it.
With more updates to come and actually finishing the mod too.

[Quote ➤](#1068519057999007854 message) Been a minute!

I'm going to give a full recap of the mod and its calculations.

The mod "Addributes" adds new things to factor when choosing what you go for in gear. Whether it be movement speed dynamics with armor, entirely new damage types, or a few more curses to worry about the mod has you covered.

Damage Types

Damage types are added in contract to things like fire aspect to add more variety with what you do.
Electrical Damage factors specific cases to calculate its damage.
• It doesn't factor armor for defense, and it calculates using things like bring in water or conductivity of armor and items.
• "Thundering" enchantment
Frost Damage is more of a utility than am offensive tool, but still supports offense
• Factors things like being in water, insulation, and heat.
• Being on fire, or in the nether makes you completely immune to it
• Slows you down (literally the same Damage as powdered snow)
• "Chilling" enchantment

Weight System

Certain armor is heavy, lowering your movement speed while some armor don't abide by those rules. The effect is called "weight"
• Netherite and gold have a weight of 2
• Diamond, Iron have a weight of 1
• Leather, Chain have a weight of 0

Material Bonuses

Yeah
• Conductive
• Amplifies the effects of electrical damage, whether that be for the better or worse (Golden items have this)
• Flammable
• Fire damage can deteriorate the item's durability
• When ablaze, the item has guaranteed fire aspect effects, disregarding "chilling" or "thundering" (wooden tools)
• Weight
• (explained above)
• Insulant
• Opposite of conductive that also protects you from frost dmg (leather armor)

New Curses

I like curses
• Curse of Shrapnel
• When an item that has this breaks, it deals Damage to the wielder
• Curse of Combustion
• Adds fire deterioration of the flammable material attribute

Stats like intelligence have been removed and so have the bars inside of your HUD

If I were you Id focus on using this sytem to make the endgame gear nontrivial

#

Aka usually its pretty clear what you have to do to get the best gear, vanilla is a radical example of this

Is the mod customizable and have built in modded armor support or at least a config?

This mod right now runs off of tags.

Adding a data pack that can tag things is the best you can do right now, but this is fully planned to work off of a configuration file and NBT data soon!
