I don't think Water 7 - Summit War benefit much from color but early One Piece and modern One Piece absolutely do

and in the first stretch of the series the cartooniness of it is really suited to solid blocks of coloring that really bring the world to life in a way everyone who's seen the anime even once in their lives kinda takes for granted

Late 00s he had REALLY crisp, and comparatively detailed/rendered work compared to the rest of the series tho

BW Crocodile really plays with fades, his body practically liquifying with his attacks, that I felt the color version lost by adding defined color transitions

He's so immaterial in the original comic

Oda's BW art somehow pops a lot more in physical copies

theres something extremeley pleasant about how i looks on the page. Pages that people post and complain are messy and hard to decipher details of in digital versions

I think are like very pleasant to look at in physical print. I think its cause he uses some heavy blacks but doesn't overuse them, so they're like kinda interspersed across the page in a satisfying but not so verwhelming way
