His story is pretty tragic and his final fight against Roger and Garp where he manages to talk to them with his mind's voice is a cool moment.
His relationship and contrast with Harald is a great part of the whole flashback which elevates both characters.

I think that tends to make characters like him more likable. He recognizes the flaws in the government hes working for, but theres also no other official way to protect citicizens, and someone like him being in charge of a military like this is better than akainu taking charge etc

I think Oda is actually doing something interesting with Sakazuki and avoiding making him a one note villain. Like he's had to chill out since taking more responsibility.

depends what reason he had to join BB's crew. X Drake was just there to get information about kaido, and made the decision to switch sides when he felt Kaido had a chance of being defeated.

But I don't think rescuing Koby and allowing Garp to escape in this case outweighed the benefits of him staying with BB. Even if they defeated BB's commanders, BB himself wasnt even there.

I think Kuzan is enjoying being free truly now but there has to be some point where Kuzan feels stifled by the crew and BB’s authority

Ohara was the beginning, because he was in a place to start learning a bit more of what was going on like Saul did. I think his goal was when he was fleet admiral, to keep the marines focused more on the violent and pillaging pirates then things like Ohara. Obviously WG wanted somebody more like Akainu
