I think Oda didn't thought about the emperors until later, he had Shanks and WB as the door keepers of the one piece and the fight with the WG originally was after Marineford, Ace still dies but somehow in the process Luffy becomes the sun god and "wins" (considering that 10 years is at most 500 chapters).
We cant know how it would've been, but Arabasta is the introduction of the corrupt system, no skypea, but replaced with the introduction of revos against the wg (like the shandoran warriors and the flashback on how they have been fighting the "gods" for 800 years), then ennies Lobby, that drops the lore of the voyd century. Thriller bark is the fight against BB who sold off Ace, and then is the war against the WG.
Haki is kept as a basic concept and a powerup to counter DF and IMU.

Hmm, I don't know how planned he was. A writer can always back track something into pointing towards a new character they create. Like its stated that Oda didn't plan on Ace being Rogers son until around the Impel Down days, so many of the things people thought had to be planned about BB and Roger and their sons, was not laid out in place at the time it was written. Sabo I think was similar. Oda made him up later but used something he already had made for Ace's character to point to him.

He’s sort of a black spot in the story. A person that shouldn’t be there or not exist, yet he’s there. He’s more active than any other pirate which I like. Above all else I like how damn greedy he is. And how he and his crews character play with the concept of fate. He’s kinda a force of nature. Even in the mural and whatever, he doesn’t have a place. His all encompassing greed is by far the most fascinating aspect of his character to me because absolutely nothing is spared. I will say that generally the only thing I don’t like about him is how convenient everything is for him. You can argue Luffy is similar but the things Blackbeard gets and how it happens is far worse. Like this ancient weapon business

To be fair, Dragon can be too under the right circumstances as we saw on GV. The dichotomy I've always seen and always write for Sabo and Ace is that Ace is hot fire, he burns hot and bright but he burns fast. He's quick tempered but that can be easily settled with the right words or actions. Sabo is cold fire, he's not as hot tempered as Ace but he can burn just as dangerously. He can hold a grudge and when he smiles it is more dangerous than Ace's, because Sabo is smarter than Ace was, and in a way, because of that. he can be crueler too.

I can see BB as the final villain but I will be supremely disappointed. Because its like they need Imu but just wearing BB's face. All I've heard people talk about is BB's going to steal Imu's power. To me, if BB was that interesting, let him have his own power rather than working through everyone else's. If you need Imu's power to be a legit threat, then maybe just have the person who owned the power in the first place be that threat?
Imu interests me and has intersted me more than BB because I know little about him and who he is. Why does he do what he does, what is his backstory, where does he come from, how do all of his powers work, and now with the 1st world also introduced, I need to know about that too. These are all things I'm not going to get from BB. I've had BB pegged since he was introduced and nothing he's done has surprised me since. He's done nothing to draw me or interest me. Even his crew isn't all that interesting.
Yes, I can see BB being the final bad guy, but to me it will feel like a huge step backwards.

I do like Shanks and Ace too, they are some of my favorite characters but this is more from what happened to their characters in arcs going up to Post-TS like Marineford, and the ASL saga and after post TS. Law was the same. He interested me in Sabaody, but I grew to love him in PH.

Ones conquerors haki only being as strong as the person was always a flawed, false and ridiculous concept.

We have multiple instances of characters being far stronger than another in terms of physical capacity but being beneath in overall strength because of haki.

Conquerors haki adds to an individuals power/strength how tf can it be a measure of how strong someone is without it when people like roger would be significantly weaker than characters like Whitebeard big mom and kaidou without its inclusion within the framework of his strength in totality
