i was just thinking about it. but yea.
i guess we don't know if doc q is good fighter at all
These are all inconsequential compared to th character make up of the main villain though. Majority of these I don’t find lame though so that’s just up to personal preference
There’s 0 work in establishing a rivalry between them so it means nothing to me
That’s why Loki is joining
idk how good the shiki shiki no mi is
Well I don’t find Imu being an incel stupid (it is lame) but I think it can make his character more interesting.
wdym? i feel they've crossed paths a ton
Super evil villains with a soft spot for something are always peak
BBP are the wildcards. Because i genuinely can’t tell when they start coming into play
Well I’m glad you find that more interesting
at major junctures and its implied BB is planning something big
Mhm. BB always seems to have a plan in motion
Luffy and Blackbeard sure
how is he an incel?
They’re operating admits the chaos of the Straw Hats & Revs vs WG
Blackbeard plan: I want something, make vague idea of a plan, holes and obstacles taken care of by luck (odas pen). Boom I get what I want or better
Hmmm does this sound stupid and lame to you?
fortune favors the bold
well he didn't get boa df
Pending
I’m indifferent to it
that woulda been bonkers
the master planner who wasnt willing to improvise was kuro and he couldnt even rob one rich girl
i forget kuro exists lmao
Got Koby instead which led to garp
wg doesn't care about garp and he prob gonna escape
Garp is probably more valuable than Hancock’s fruit
doubt
The Navy are definitely going to care.
Oda is going to have them agree for whatever reason and Blackbeard gets what he wants because Oda always makes sure he does
its so funny that rayliegh is like dont worry ill neogtate something fair.
Ok first order of business, koby, youre blackbeard's prisoner
Garp has a ton of followers & admirers as a hero
u think imu gives a shit?
And the navy are still apart of the WG.
BB could possess Garp or domi reversi him
Imu will be gone and garling will push to make a deal with Blackbeard because they need to fight back against the revos and blah blah
The fat fuck gets what he wants
I will agree with Muk if Caribou actually tells Blackbeard where the weapons are
That is just a bit too egregious

doubt.
why you thinking imu gonna so soon?
The NAVY are apart of the WG. THEY will give a shit
I mean he will be here in elbaf
He just did
So he can’t make decisions
He left Mariejois
The navy are just a face and front for the wg
They hold no power
They are the power
Because the wg lets them. They exist to exercise their Will
Koby was trying to capture Hancock and then she’d promptly be enslaved again instead he himself gets enslaved.
This is why I love Blackbeard
Imu is definitely getting fucked up.
Kuzan will kill caribou before he can answer trust
Imu is doing the fucking
wrong
elbaf will fail
When you come across as someone as stubborn as Luffy. Oh boy. On top of that, Luffy has his full crew & now Loki & Ragnir
in the end he will
And then he’s pulled back to his land with his employees he probably hates
Egghead in general was just a bit too plot armory for Blackbeard, Devon spoke like they didn’t even expect Saturn to be there, they chanced upon it, got lucky and then got lucky again with Caribou
Imu probably won’t care, but the navy will mobilize regardless I think
underestimating Imu
Imu is now there in the actual flesh. He’s definitely receiving damage. Hell, he already harmed himself coming down to the lower world before the fight even happened
Something something fate
And then he will be fired
bro it's no diff to gomu gomu no pistol🫡
That’s a good point
Kuzan then kills Blackbeard and absorbs him revealing himself as the actual Davy jones who kept his body in ice for centuries
You’re onto something. Caribou will probably try to slime teach for killing wang zhi
What did Blackbeard Pirates originally came to do on Egghead? And if it was Saturn, how did they know beforehand?
It’s kinda funny to think about
It couldn’t have been for Saturn
isn't it obvs
Vegapunk
Most people think it was a way to get power over serphim
Somehow they have tabs on everything going on
If Thatch just never found that fruit Davey clan over, Blackbeard sits on that ship until he dies. Rocks would’ve looked really silly lol.
We know for a fact that York figured out the government was planning to kill her as well. We learn this when she tells the Seraphim, and we see the Blackbeard pirates arrive right after that
I think York realized the government would have to send an Elder
Otherwise they could defend themselves with the Seraphim and Pacifista
I think he wanted a way to control the seraphim after seeing them for the first time so they were sent to copy Vegapunks appearance but they found someone higher on the command hierarchy
I mean laffiette is taking Tabs on the wg
It’s not because I doubt an Elder arriving in the flesh would be common knowledge. An Admiral & Navy battleship’s, sure. But Saint Saturn? Hmm. I doubt it
How would Blackbeard even know about the command hierarchy?
@glacial bear now from there, we saw when Blackbeard invaded Amazon Lily that he recognized that the seraphim were Pacifista
That is true
Interrogate a poor marine or koby or something
He also recognized they were Lunarian
Nope, it’s not that
After Blackbeard encountered the seraphim, he looked into it
Got in touch with York
Oh yeah Blackbeard somehow recognized it. He saw the markings
They bonded over their treacherous nature and their greed
I don’t think Koby would talk
York told him an elder woukd be coming because
doubt it
Maybe a poor marine but do rank and file marines really know all there is to the command hierarchy?
Only an elder can take the Pacifista from her
Exactly.
And I’m pretty sure Hancock stoned nearly all the marines there
Well I guess we’ll find out
Knowing the government planned on betraying her, York agreed to help Blackbeard steal the seraphim and infiltrate Marijoa @glacial bear
That’s why Devon says mission accomplished when she touched Saturn
I don’t see why not
The plan is for Saturina Devon to command the Seraphim for Teach
That’s a good theory. And yeah I raised an eyebrow when Catarina Devon said that.
Mhm. And now they have intel about 2/3 of the ancient weapon locations
I think Caribou is lying to them
hes not a good guy but i do love bb. Thats kinda what i love about him. Hes so unapologetically in it for himself. If he ends up being motivated by familial revenge im gonna be a little disappointed
Needed an escape from egghead
Yeah most of them did get stoned except Koby
There’s a reason Oda isn’t focusing on Teach a lot. He’s up to something. Same thing with the whole draping Newgate in a black blanket. I wonder what that’s about & why Teach is the only one in history to successfully eat more than 1 fruit
Could be. Definitely possible
It’s implied Devon can copy powers but how is thag going to work with both Saturn dead and his powers potentially not even being a fruit
I’m 99% sure at this point he wants to be king of the world due to it being his birth right
Oda is focusing on teach
i dont think its about the powers or espionage or anything, its about seraphim control
i think its aligns with his conception of freedom, not anything to do with his ancestors. His freedom is domination of everyone else to secure his own freedom
We know he’s about to do something big involving the revos and marijois. Oda just hasn’t shown the outside world in a while
Rocks flashback was lowkey just hype for teach
Wouldn’t say as much
I mean there’s a reason people think Enel can beat him
That’s the exact vibe I’m picking up on
The difference between Blackbeard and Xebec to me is that Xebec wanted to be King of the World to fight the government and Teach wants to be king of the world because he wants everything
That person was just insane
i wouldnt even say he gets clowned, every time he loses in a moment he wins in the long term goal oriented way. He only even loses if you care about a conception of like warriors pride that it actually matters to win 1v1 fights rather than accomplish objectives. from an objective standpoint, he always wins
Teach’s original name was going to be Everything D. Teach
Blackbeard is a mirror of the Celestial Dragons whilst Xebec was more like a revolutionary
Instead of Marshall D. Teach
This is so on the nose Oda lol
Blackbeard saw as his homeland was filled with slaves and he saw the horrors and decided he wanted to enslave people also.
That’s my goat
The guy Named everything wants everything
Blackbeard’s devil fruit power is literally a bottomless hole that takes in everything
They are controlled by the 5 elders. They won't mobilize without their approval. Whole reason why SWORD and garp went on their own
And Teach will obviously succeed where his father failed. Teach has no liability like loved ones for example. And he has actual loyal members of his crew like the original core members from Jaya
His mother is definitely still out there
Sorry missed a word. I meant "die so soon"
Teach killed his mother
He will probably come closer than Xebec at least
I mean he hasn't lost a fight.
I want Lafitte to be Blackbeards trebol so bad but it’s not gonna happen
Yeah Magellan didn’t smoke him or anything
I thought it was really weird that he risks Devon and Auger leaving him behind instead of just telling them he knows about ancient weapons so they guarantee take him away
Then I realized he's done nothing but lie his ass off every time we see him in the story and now he looks like he's the son of the guy who betrayed Rocks and was killed by Blackbeard
He didn't?
and who walked out of this with their goal achieved and who walked out with an embarassign failure and demotion?
His story just ends here if Luffy didn’t invade. Or if Magellan just didn’t free Shiryu
Teach
Indeed
I mean you said he never lost a fight
that's not how they walked out of that
The 5 Elders dwell on politics. And it’s not good politics to have one of your best marines, the HERO of the Navy, be left out to dry.
The public would just lose more faith in the government for that.
He lost that fight
they walked out of that teach groveling in poison
I said he never lost his objective
they walked out of a separate fight
Not if the public doesn't know
he loses fights, but fights dont matter
oh
Lmao Blackbeard will make it known
if shiryu never had that poison, BB would be dead lol
They can literally disappear him like they did an entire island
and BB and crew were like
"damn we were lucky"
"or maybe its fate"
"doesnt matter, we live"
Getting a battleship after Marineford and capturing Luffy at Jaya
Also capturing Law
Blackbeard has like the dumbest plan for impel down ever and it only really works due to circumstances he didn’t really know were at hand lol
Can’t wait for Luffy to pummel Blackbeard
And getting the flame flame frui
People give Kuro way too much flack
Fruit*
Actually no. The public DOES KNOW 😂 Morgans literally stated it on his newspaper. There was a whole scene of Dadan crying reading the article
Also whatever he had planned with Moria is out the window
Blackbeard does a lot of dumb shit constantly
luck / fate is a part of the series
Teach actually does lose out on a lot of objectives
Burgess himself talks about it
With Teach, he just has an even better come up waiting for him
thats why hes covering a ton of bases at the same time
Oh fair. Well there's your answer. They haven't done anything.
If caribou tells him the ancient weapon locations…
Wasnt the battleship thing for subterfuge? which he accomplished anyway being a warlord
He didnt capture luffy but luffy wasnt the point, the point was to get a high value target to get anoninted as a warlord, which he did.
He was lying in wait to get the glyphs from whoever showed up at winner island, which he did. capturing law would have just been a cherry on top
if? It already happened for sure
hell they captured koby as part of that pirate nation plan
kuzan was like "he's part of sword, plan's useless"
and teach is like
"lol fuck it, they still probably care"
I sure hope not
He wanted a battleship to sail on after Marineford cause San Juan crushed their raft
well clearly they made it out of marineford
the objective was get a battleship
Caribou gotta die I can’t lie
they were on another island
I mean he knows Poseidon but I think that's it
strawhats directly post TS were so careless ngl
no the battleship was a means to esacpe, which was accomplished. Youre focusing too much on the little details and not the big picture. The little details often fail but the big picture succeeds
I don’t mind Blackbeard having the ancient weapons but I don’t like how Caribou happened to be a super fan that knew exactly where they are and happened to be there at that moment to tell them
But yes fate and such
Which might be an impetus for a fight with BB if they kidnap shirahoshi
Caribou was lying
Caribou said that exact same thing to the Straw Hats multiple times
"I want to be your subordinate"
Mhm. I’m iffy on Caribou
he just needed a way off Egghead
Also, would be funny if Cross Guild manage to get to Laugh Tale without any poneglyphs
Anyways I’ve reread up to 1147 of elbaf and I like the presented xenophobia and culture change explored so far. With hajurdin and loki back on the throne I see how xenophobia will be tackled but not so much the culture change. Will they just come to a compromise and train them in battle and school? Or will only the last generation and up continue fighting. I think imu will probably do something really bad to either loki or hajurdin and the other brother will freak out
Ochoku shares many similar design elements with the brothers Caribou and Coribou, having similar pointed ears, cheekbones, nose, and even facial shape as Caribou while having similar dark lips and circles around his eyes like Coribou. Any relationship between the brothers and Ochoku is yet to be confirmed.
Ochoku's status as a "pirate guru" (海賊教祖, kaizoku kyōso?) is also rather similar to Caribou's own belief in God.[9]
Far as I’m aware. They’re the only Yonko crew that has none, right?
Does he know where pluton is? Idk if he was listening.
Now on top of the fact that Caribou has told this lie before
Why do we believe him again?
Caribou's first mention of looking for "that certain someone" also included wanting to give them treasure
what treasure does caribou have that's gonna matter to someone with the wealth of an emperor?
Caribou has zero reason to trust him and his story isn't adding up
do yall agree that the true purpose of the ancient weapons and the reason that they were preserved is to be used as tools to reshape the planet after it is eventually destroyed as the mural says
I won’t allow you to hurt him….hes my brother
Yeah no way Oda would do that at all
Would be funny if that someone is Buggy the clown
Themes. And such.
I think they're cultivation tools
The great kingdom originated from Birka
No
The one on the moon
Caribou needed to get out of egghead, his admiration for BB might have been a lie but I dont see why he wouldnt be spilling the secrets now
I think the ancient weapons were used to harvest resources from the blue planet
I think the person Caribou is looking for is Dragon, but he doesn't know that it's Dragon
Well I don’t know. I don’t believe so because at least two of them are apparently disgustingly destructive
I was surprised one of the ancient weapons is a living mermaid
What does a bobcat or a tiller do the ground?
poseidon is potentially the most destructive of the 3
Well I imagine that oda is going for a Noah/great flood story and the ARK/Poseidon and maybe pluton will be useful for saving people when they destroy the red line
I always thought it was going to be a machine or something
if it’s powers is used maliciously which it won’t
You can't harvest resources from the planet without penetrating it
Now, I think the thing Uranus used is a tool for harvesting water
me using my island destroying super weapon for purely agricultural and peaceful purposes
though i do dig the idea, i remember floating it around a few years back
That's what she said
I agree. Imu seems to fear it as well. He appears to deeply hate Poseidon
I think it sends the area struck somewhere else and that's why theres that bottomless hole there
Why would you built island wiping capabilities int your farming tool
The hole never fills because the water enters whatever distortion that sends it elswhere
Damn thats a good first appearance...
Best OP arc for a reason
huh?
So what are your guys thoughts on what the purpose of Noah is?
i dont think it can be this right? This would cause the sea levels to steadily fall, not rise
“You’re a minnow” - monkey d Luffy
Could have captured shirahoshi at reverie tho
they still need a great energy source to fuel the other two weapons, at least that’s what I think
To help people into safety from the flood
The water rises because of earthquakes afterward
Save everyone when the world floods super high
Yeah but who? That ship isn't big enough for everyone.
It could be that Pluton is needed to manage the earthquakes
Just like in the Bible
probably the same as in the flood myth, saving people from the flood which joyboy anticipated
Yo is imu going to be the final villain or Blackbeard
both are
ark noah
Hoping Blackbeard gets slimed
Kaido
I’d say it definitely is.
Genuinely goofiest villain oat
Kaido will be the final villain
but if the water were constnatly flowing elsewhere it would be functioning like a drain. Ennies lobby would be steadily draining the ocean
In 2020 I lowkey thought he was going to be the final villain
I always keep rewatching the spider cafe scene
big mom returning is more plausible
it might be on a loop
Kaido truther>big mom truther
Bro kaido and big mom better not return
kaido is stronger though
I don’t think he will make Usopp gain any power ups physically like that especially with changing sizes
Their boats have sailed
kaido returning is infinitely funnier because at least big mom returning could have some purpose
YESSS
DRY DRAGON KAIDO
Oda doing tm w these fake out deaths
Kaido is kaido, not the horse doc q rides
I think it'd be a good reward for him at the conclusion of his arc
what do you think the fake out death to real death ratio in elbaf will be?
8:1
Hajrudin’s getting a fake out some where
i dont think we'll actually have many
Nami will die
There's a small chance he gets a random df power but idk if he'd even eat it considering he's such a wuss
We talking about deaths? I don’t see Gaban and definitely not Hajrudin dying
Remember when people thought ange was a traitor
I CAN see Dorry & Brogy or Jarul dying. That’s possible
no deaths or only 1- jarul
no more then 2 fake outs
Nah no way Oda would do that cause he insists on Usopp being the weakest and the most normal guy in the story.
heres how jarul traitor can still happen:
Nami too voluptuous to die
Old people don’t die in one piece unless they have cancer
The Owl don’t forget about the Owl
So imu confirmed dying
That's a child Nami just hit. And she takes care of kids? 🤨
Bro def has cancer
I still think Jarul is Shaggy
ange being the traitor is easily the funniest cause there was literally no explanation for it other than people didnt like her
For me I don’t see it cause Gaban did tell the straw hats to seek him out if Elbaph is still safe after this. I wonder what he wanted to show them
Nami beats children
Technically what happened to the giant demons could be counted as fake out deaths in a way.
but when Rocks does it its wrong
she wasn't conventionally attractive
yeah meant that
The thumbnails kept cracking me up 😂
I miss the mosa theories
I love that clip of him and Brago figuring Gunko would be the weakest knight because "she's a woman and this is Oda"
He keeps doubling down on it too lmao
Love seeing projection age like milk
All Chopper did was have a loaf of bread in his mouth too lmao
scopper isn’t dying
This could be a death flag tbh
Elbaph is intact but he's dead
The irony
Pre timeskip Nami has such a huge head
It’s possible Gaban travels with the man marked by flames
Because her neck is so small
Gaban is a navigator after all
who do you think it is
I mean he did say If
I forgot this. Bro knows the final poneglyph
I kinda hope it’s urouge I don’t know where else he fits in the story
Shi might not be standing fr at the end
Hmm. Honestly an entire new character we haven’t met yet. Someone not present in any flashback
But her design was still perfect nonetheless
I hope it’s someone new too
maybe people are also just uncreative that they cant think of an Imu W that doesnt involve deaths
Even if her ears are below her mouth
Oda forgot about urouge
Why didn’t they just let Emily Rudd act in her normal hair. The wig looked awful
Unless she didn’t want to
I miss that version of Nami
Short hair Nami the best
trying to make anime looks work when thats clearly not how real life works
Why did u just say this
Now I can’t unsee it
Bro wtf
Nigga her ears are mouth level
LMAO
That was literally all of them pre timeskip
They have my-ears-are-mouth-level syndrome
Only read the manga after ts
I skipped every other arc
True
How am I just noticing this after all this time
The craziest part is that they also did it to Brook.
Except he has no ears YOHOHOHOHOHO
😭😭😭
I’m a little upset that this actually made me laugh
I want to see how Loki fell in love with Lola
Btw...what if the "human human fruit" is the natural enemy to the "devil fruit"
i honestly am expecting the lola stuff to just get dropped at this point
it just seems so small compared to everything else involved with loki
Literally
Bro is ginormous
I have bad news for you
I’m surprised all these high budget shows with millions of dollars in everything always fuck up the wigs
Like why are wigs so hard to do right
It will probably be in an sbs
I could see that
Knowing who Loki is now, it just seems so bizarre
how long ago was that hook? Thriller bark? Times change
Indeed
its not at all hard to believe the plan might have changed in the past SEVENTEEN years
i think that might be the most popular theory atm
i think its wg based
I can see why Loki fell for Lola
i take shiryu at the value of his speculation
Her down to earth personality must remind him of his mother
I mean it did come up again later on when we got more BM stuff
even that was 8-10 years ago
The kind of person Loki wanted to be
I see the vision now
Unless something like vivi capture, no amount of WG evil is gonna dissuade luffy from his OP quest. So having the MMBF be WG is a convenient way to tie the threads together
if luffy was just gonna be morally repulused by the evil and fight them for that reason alone, he woulda turned around in egghead, he didnt
Loki keeping a low profile according to Imu but then also going to WCI and getting into some marriage is questionable
it just ocurred to me that they didn't make a lego laboon set.....
that would've been perfect
wtf?? Actually unpurchaseable
taking matters into my own hands......
When someone is evil, you can deal with them. You can predict their moves if you understand their motives. Their actions are logical or traceable.
When someone is stupid, all the rules of life you've learned goes out the window. You don't know what works and what don't.
on another note, it feels weird seeing OP treated as a big western series via the live action lol
was not expecting a LEGO LA spin-off
You cannot intimidate Luffy with titles or history or consequences or even hostages. You can't even intimidate him with lethal poison
That’s what I like about Luffy ngl because to him all of that stuff is meaningless. The only thing with meaning is the now
Kid may look crazy but he's just headstrong. He knows the rules and challenges them. You know what direction he's coming from.
Yeah, him attacking civilians was just him being headstrong

That and a whisky peak set would’ve been so good
Nothing has meaning. Luffy chased Crocodile across the whole country and died 3 times and Crocodile still didn't know wtf Luffy wants until he asked him. Neither did we.
I’m a bit upset we don’t have a Miss Valentine and Mr 5 mini-figure
Kid is crazy but he’s stupid
Luffy is stupid but he’s not crazy
Does that make sense?
Yes
this!!
How do you negotiate with an idiot when you don't even know what he wants or how he wants to get it
Luffy is definitely crazy
i want a full baroque works collection
Calculated risks but he’s bad at math
Both are stupid and crazy. Kid is a little more arrogant xd
YESSSS
Full baroque works collection including the random baseball girl that never appeared in manga
Kid is just not as lucky. And his personality doesn’t make connections that would otherwise save him from the situations he puts himself in
But to be fair his journey has likely not even been half as crazy as luffys
i actually love that these mentioned-only concepts are getting revisited because of the LA
He's a kid
If you take a look at luffys journey you realize how crazy he is and looks
Kid should start a band post-war
Miss thursday was never mentioned. Even smoker didn't bring her up when interrogating mr 11
Both acts like the mc but only one has the plot armor that comes with it
Like... Luffy hears a trains whistle & says ooh lets go & grabs all his friends & then jumps off a building to what would be their deaths if the train doesn't make it in time etc
I believe she was only on a BW members list, forgot if that was actually in-manga or in an SBS
Luffy: -picks up a book-
Strawhats: -heartrate increases-
kind of want LA to get to Sabaody just so they can give him a punk theme since Toei didn't do that
We have a lot of flashbacks left. A lot of content
Im surprised they didn’t jump him immediately considering the type of df imposter powers that exist
Elbaf funny moments #7
i'd prefer if it's left alone but i am kiinda curious about the further backstory oda had in mind for nami
Jarul has all the best jokes
Usopps biggest strength feat
we love jarul
Imu has to pull out that sword and put him down
hi
Usopp unlocked skywalk and nobody bats an eye
welcome dear neighbor
hows it feel to be part of #also-manga
i understand completely
It's better
Usopp just jumped 10 stories high to twap jarul
i also understand completely
there's also no cooldowns, yes
whos the other
actually san means 3
It's big enough for 3
yeah we can have 3
3ji
Spice and shuron
its lonely at the top of the objectively best fandom
The game of thrones fandom?

Ew
we did miss a golden opportunity for sanji to defeat strussen and take his fruit
did they even interact?
No
thats a waste
loremasters, does the lightning in 1166 have any significance?
strussen was the guy in wholecake right?
im also disappointed franky didnt talk to vegapunk about responsibility for your creations since that was his fuckin backstory and an issue at the heart of vp's work that is never properly confronted
Streussen’s fruit makes food that tastes bad
and rocks pirates
The Mythical DF
Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Jon Favreau
But at least we got 20 eps of BM yelling wedding cake
yep, anything he cuts turns into food
maybe hes just bad at it
yooo if sanji had that fruit..
Someone made a crack theory that Luffy is actually Roger
They say it’s what the fruit itself does
im not interested in such fake mythologies.
So its just Luffy = Joyboy but renamed
well strussen is their example right
Vegapunk regretted his creations?
no thats the missed confrontation
Sigh
what fruits did vegapunk make
The food the fruit makes tastes bad
but Sanji will make it taste gourmet 🔥
I’m confused you’re saying Oda should have made Vegapunk regretful?
einstein*
I don’t think sanji can save it 🙁 streussen is a chef too
vegapunk should have been confronted for his attempt to create biological slaves in the seraphim yes
i believe in sanji.....
the fact that they can overcome it doesnt mean it wasnt his intention
Streussen is a british chef. He is yet to discover seasoning
what if the one piece is just ingredients to cook and thats why luffy said i needyou to become king of the pirates?!?!
Oh we’re probably gonna get the reveal that he did that to bring the Lunarian and Buccaneer back from extinction
Also PX-0 responds to Dragon so probably with that reveal that VP always planned for Dragon to free them
PX-0 responding to a command from Dragon is what really brings it together
Luffy need sanji because he is a fatass
even if these things pan out i dont think that means he should not have been confronted in the moment when he talks about the command heirarchy
Yeah we already know that the WG saw his attempts to resurrect them and said “that’s awesome make them slaves for us”
luffy weighs 68 pounds or something
Maybe but the SHs are just pirates so it wouldn’t be them
Its the god fruit thats helping him
Plus VP doesnt treat them badly
Most of the SHs have been fighting since childhood themselves
They may not be the most appropriately conditioned to see what’s wrong with the Seraphim
Streusen putting beans on toast rn
Fully cloned the Uo Uo no mi, cloned the Mero Mero, Nikyu Nikyu, Sui Sui & Supa Supa via green blood (more to come from the other Seraphim too) & replicated parts of Kizaru's fruit to make the lasers of the Pacifista
i think jinbe should have had a problem with it
he pushes back on the internet but not the genetic slaves?
This must be a redacted image from the files
I wonder when we’ll see the Seraphim again
Hopefully the S-Croc group is en route to Emptee Bluffs
Hope no one is there
While quelling uprisings along the way
Seraphims was a big miss
holy shit
Sanji with cheese cheese fruit
I wonder who has the time travel fruit now
Ooo COOK
20 years after Toki's death and no mention of time travel fruit seems sus.
hopefully the next user sent it thousands of years in the future so it doesnt come up again and even doesnt come up in two piece
Also Joy Boy disappeared, and Toki supposedly fled from 800+ years ago. Wonder if there's a connection there.
The next user didn't know how to use it & jumped into the grim darkness of the far future
someone ate toki's fruit and fucked up and jumped 750 years into the future but it's actually just another dystopia
Yes oda deposit that fruit at the end of time for good please
Mr ,3 is basically sommers character wise in like garden
Hello zyph
Right?
Man Yall act so scared of time travel and idk why
Because time travel is seen as an extremely lazy trope for stories to explain plotholes.
Similar to the "but it was all a dream" stories
potholes
Oda would never tarnish One Piece with backwards time travel
Fuck my phone lmao
I don’t believe any person who says Theyve never read a good story with time travel
Or never enjoyed a story with time travel
It’s so lame watching the community devolve any time it comes up
I can enjoy a story but hate the paradoxes it creates in universe
Paradoxes are the entire appeal
not for me
A lot like death, we created stories about time to cope with our inabilities to control it
Or fully understand it
time travel paradoxes make my brain itch
they are generally unpleasant
We understand time enough to recognize paradoxes but will never understand time enough to solve them
I just think it makes a lot of unanswered shit a lot of the time
That’s a shame
Well a lot of people seem to like the time island theory
And there was mention in the story of "but it was not the right time" or something when the Roger pirates talk about it if I recall correctly
Rayleigh said they were too early
So far we know that’s becausw the mermaid princess wasn’t born yet
Yeah, so time travel could absolutely be it and what they laughed at was a note by Joy Boy
Who knows if there’s more to it
I guess I just don't see a good way to do it without undermining the present
Could very well be a failure of imagination
What do you mean
Time travelling needs a lot of set rules and to be thought out fully
By undermine the present
You only need to make it a closed time loop if you’re not doing multiverse
yo 💔
what
I don't want to subordinate the present to the direct impacts of the past and I also don't want it to be primarily a launch pad to the future
yo
A closed time loop also complements the theme that Theres nothing you can do about the past
💔
I don’t understand
Man just me personally in op I just hope toki was the only time time travelling will happen
see I don't mind time travel to the future, that can't create paradoxes
its the going back in time that makes it dumb to me
you’ve never fucked with any story that involves going back in time?
I think it should be the case that the most important characters, conflicts, relationships, etc are outside the present context we've become invested in
What makes that so important
like I said, I can enjoy a story that involves going back in time, but that doesn't mean that the paradoxes it creates don't bother me
i think travel to the past causes for basically undoing a lot of stuff, and then needing to put in your own rules for the ramifications of the present
I just dunno what people get so squirmy about if you know you’ve also already enjoyed stories about it
at least future is more like "this is now 1 path way, the knowledge u gained will make u avoid this path"
I think Oda can simply just do a closed loop
I mean there's nothing objective I'm just stating a preference but I do not think I would like it if the things I've become invested in over a thousand plus chapters get overshadowed by a tiny little slice of the past
Time is fine if it's the main thing
Explain to ODA what is a closed loop
Where I’m lost is what you mean by overshadowed by a tiny slice of the past
Yeah, he made the grand line
If u time travel to the past won’t that just change the whole future
depends
Man I watched the flash ima expert at ts trust
closed loop past travel wont change the present/future
So what’s the point of it I don’t get it
You'd have to go into an example for me to say I think. I dunno what you're specifically referring to but if we're dealing with past travel changing the present the present can literally be unwritten. If we go to the future, it means there's something in the future so much more important than the present we can leave the present behind
Just going back to see?
A loop or paradox of any kind would kill any investment I have
im not the best at explaining it but closed loop means the past is fixed and u cannot change the past, because u traveling to the past to try and fix it is already a part of history
Not if you do it this way
Time travel is one of the hardest things to do right in fiction
It makes or breaks a story a lot of times
I just prefer against it
closed-loop time travel would work in an entirely deterministic universe but otherwise it would be just as paradoxical as any other travel to the past tbh
yup but specifically time travel to the past
ye its still a jank ass time paradox
when it's to the future only like with Toki's fruit it's 100% fine imo
Doesn’t fit the story one piece is telling in my opinion. Would feel out of place for this story to be a paradox or stuck in a loop
Well yeah a closed time loop fixes all this. The present we know of happened because of the time travel happening
Tokis fruit is super safe because Oda doesn’t want to fuck things up
Then that means everything was set In stone
cuz toki traveled to the future right?
Yee
That's what I dislike. It subordinates the events of the present to their causes in the past
ye cuz unless Toki was supposed to do something important in her present, her time traveling to the future doesnt really...affect anything
Weird how you think it's out of place when the entire story so far has been centralized around people and ideas from 800 years ago
closed loop travel would also imply that the world is completely deterministic
in her present, she would have simply disappeared and then reappeared years later
which im fine with but others might not be i guess
Paradox stories like this are written to play with our human sensibilities regarding time.
We understand enough about time to come up with paradoxes, but solving them is beyond our understanding. It’s the same as people writing stories about death or mythologizing weather phenomena
We cope with what we can’t fully control or understand by capturing it in storytelling
? Confused how the events of 800 years ago shaping the world are supposed to make me feel that the story being a paradox/loop is actually fine and perfectly in line with one piece
The fact that we understand time enough to conceptualize of a closed loop but can't explain how a loop like that could exist is the entire appeal
After Marineford Jamesbei brings up that you can't change the past
All you can do is move forward
those other phenomena don't come with inherent paradoxes like time travel to the past does
that's what closed time loops are about
i don't see the paradoxes as a problem, they're a narrative appeal
ig it's a matter of perspective. to me they're plot holes the same as any other kind of inconsistency
Nothing says "you can't change the past" like having the chance to literally go the past and interact with it and then returning to find the present completely unchanged because you caused the present you left in the first place
how many characters they drew imu w in the span of 4 days😂😂
where did the idea of characters traveling to the past even come from 😭
I first thought of it because of what Roger and Rayleigh say in the Wano flashback
Time travel theories appear in a lot of fandoms
Rayleigh said they were too early
Time travel is in op too since toki had the fruit
Very strict time travel
the whole point of Nika is to bring liberation to the current world, not go back and retcon it out of existence
Just goin back in time hasn’t been said to Be possible
So I got to thinking, what if Roger meant he wishes he was born in the future when he said he wished he was born in Joy Boy's time
Nobody said anything about retconning the current world out of existence
My proposal is that if Oda includes backward time travel, it'll be a stable closed loop
The act of time traveling causes the future you time traveled from to occur
Why is that better than the face value he wishes he was born in the past? What is added other than complexity and unexpectedness
The appeal of stories like this is we're unable to answer what reality looked like "before" the loop
The idea of how the loop "first" started can't be answered
The implication that the loop has always existed has appeal for the same reason the idea of "outside" the expanding universe has appeal
Fuck a loop I just want to see bb slime out shanks
The same reason "what did the universe look like before the big bang"
Soon
Or "where did the material in the big bang come from" have appeal
We can't answer these questions
idk i still think stable loops of that nature are only possible in a deterministic (or i guess fatalistic) universe
I don’t don’t find that appealing in one piece
I think you can do something with that. Like I've said multiple times now, it complements what Jamesbei said about not being able to change the past and only being able to move forward
Also having that deterministic element of "we went to the past and just caused the present" just makes it more satisfying when Luffy's idealism and optimism wins out in the present day
It also ruins any emotional attachment or immersion I have in this storu
I don't see why
Yall have some strange attachments to this trope
I don't understand why someone traveling back in time would immediately ruin all emotional investment you had, that's such a dramatic thing to say
meh i still enjoy stories with backwards time travel but i would strongly prefer if it didn't happen in One Piece
so i'd still enjoy One Piece but it would be a pretty silly move for Oda to do that imo
Complexity and unexpectedness are good enough on their own
Knowing all these events have been caused by luffy(?) or whoever in the future, affecting the past will disconnect me on rereads
I already explained the general appeal of paradoxes too
could you elaborate on that?
It's the same reason why people were really gung ho about one piece before it was revealed the gum gum fruit is actually a god fruit and Luffy is also a destined/prophecized person instead of just being the funny rubber dude who tries hard.
Maybe this is the foundational thing, for me they need to justify themselves they're not inherently positive on their own
los pollos hermanoes
you explained why the appeal to you. whereas i (and i guess others) see them as plot holes
paradoxes aren't inherently plot holes
A closed loop fixes pretty much every plot hole related problem you could have
any logical inconsistency is a plot hole to me
paradoxes aren't logical inconsistencies though
paradoxes are things that appear as though they should be illogical, but aren't
"nobody will be driving this weekend because it's bound to be traffic" is a minor example
i don't think that's what a paradox is lol
The One Piece is actually Shank's arm that got bitten off
at best you could maybe say that paradoxes can be logically consistent under scrutiny, but they can definitely be logically inconsistent too
I’m invested in the journey an growth of the characters so When I reread with the understanding that the events im reading are caused/affected by Luffy/someone and that they have been trying to change th past, I’d feel immediately disconnected. The idea of the timeloop and how everything fits in would dominate my thoughts and I’d just be left not caring.
paradox is a statement, proposition, or situation that seems to contradict itself or defy common sense, yet upon reflection, it may hold a deeper truth or reveal a logical puzzle. It often involves contradictory elements that, despite seeming mutually exclusive, are interconnected.
I don't see why the concept of Luffy going back in time would make you emotionally disconnected from soemthing like Arlong Park or Wano
and again, the problem with closed-loop time travel is that it would essentially confirm that the future is as set-in-stone as the past is. personally i wouldn't mind that too much but i could understand if many others do, considering that One Piece is a journey about following your dreams
what's the problem with the future being set in stone
that's kinda the premise of the story
things like zoro will beat mihawk
luffy will claim the OP
the SH dreams already make the future being set in stone baked into the formula
it's just the determinism vs free will conundrum all over again. personally i believe that they are mutually inclusive, but many consider them mutually exclusive and would see an issue with an inherently deterministic narrative
Blackbeard could actually claim the one piece, thinking about it
The repeated "no matter what, it WILL be Luffy" is the sentiment of an unavoidable future
What Whitebeard said in Marineford communicates an unavoidable future
that isn't set in stone in universe. we as readers know that Zoro will beat Mihawk, but it isn't metaphysically set in stone within the world of One Piece
Imu told the Elders in this latest chapter that this confrontation in Elbaph was inevitable
Because I know the events of the story either are a result of or is going to end up with Luffy going back and trying to change the past. I don’t like this trope at all unless the main thing of the story is time travel, which is not the case for one piece
The idea of the future being inevitable is something we've already accepted
The closed loop wouldn't be introducing anything new in that regard
Sure but the characters talk about plenty of things that are
The idea of the future being iron man
Whitebeard talks about how someone WILL claim the OP
There WILL be a final war
Roger, WB, Rayleigh, Rocks
Infinity war
PIRATES~ assemble
that isn't a statement of unchangeable metaphysical truth, just a proclamation to inspire hope
But nobody said Luffy has to be going back specifically in an attempt to change the past. Luffy doesn't need to even know he's in the past until the ending
it's the same as Naruto repeating that he will become Hokage one day
sorry other series xd
but yeah
What it accomplishes narratively is the same
It tells us as the reader that there are events in the story that will happen because, in-universe, fate deemed they would happen
i can't agree with that. there's nothing in-universe pre-ordaining that certain events will happen
Toki's prophecy also puts the idea of the future being inevitable front and center
Oden tells Kaido and Orochi what WILL happen in the future
Then there's the prophecy that Loki would kill Harald, which came to pass
And there's Sharley's prophecy of FMI being destroyed
These characters consistently speak of the future as an inevitably even beyond their own hands
Dragon quoting Roger in chapter 100 sells it
"These things WILL come to pass"
This isn't just hope, these characters firmly believe these things are unavoidable
We as the audience know they're right because Oda will write the story to validate them
But that means we have accepted that when it comes to OP, the future is laced with inevitabilities
The characters in universe attribute this to fate
many many works of fantasy have fate or prophecy as a theme. yet most of them don't have anything as extreme as closed-loop time travel to reinforce that theme
idc about that
OP will stand out among them
time travel isn't necessary for this theme
it's just a fun way to do it
you might think that there's no issue with it, and to an extent i agree, but a lot of people will find issue with it
i think they're jumping the gun
a lot of people find issues with perfectly fine writing all the time
Just like Kin'emon and Momo and gang jumped 20 years into the future AYOOOo
exactly like that
Honestly would be cool if the final war was intergalactic
i bet imu is from outer space
Why else would they be called lunarians?
idk
noooo that would be worse than the time travel idea what the heck
No. Think about it. The SBS reveals that space pirates exist, therefore Luffy needs to conquer space to become the true King of the Pirates
Enel will start the space wars
would it end with Luffy and Goku teaming up to fight the TTGL thingy
How effective is lightning in space?
Not at all
Very much
big clue the moon has an atmosphere
Imagine we have to deal with a whole civilization of imus
Yesss
Imagine that Imu is just going to be essentially what Kaguya is to Naruto
bring it on
Anyone else wanna make their own One Piece Bingo Card to see how the next 7 chapters go? https://discord.com/channels/164970986284777473/1491152862036623360
The last chapter of one piece just says
PART 1: BLUE PLANET SAGA: END
Scans 🥀
It has become an obsession at this point.
hmm
I mean I remember hearing alot of things about Solomon and how he learned to summon the goetia which were the different deity's through out the world and such an trapped deamons with the grimore and everything..
Hmm🤔
Are those devil fruits
Or maybe Daveys had the books before and Imu was a demon that took hold of power from them?
best one yet
Guys I can't wait to see a different panel of imu cus jessus IV see. Every version of this panel coloring in existence at this point, wish Xebec got this love
Xebec isn't as hot, that's the only reason.
Better die a goat than live as a fraud
Imu is just more interesting I'm sorry
Explain
To me he comes off a bland battle shonen villain
The theories for xebec week one were infinitely better than what we're getting here
No one's ready ready for that convo lmao
I don't read that sort of thing, but Oda doesn't draw characters like this often
I mean isn't he essential Yamato hybrid form
Xebec within his limited panel time just screamed charisma
And mystery
Even after the flashback ended we still don’t much about the Davy clan
Or how Xebec knew the information that he did
He was definitely the highlight for the flashback to me
Yeah they hit like top 5-10 characters
Waiter! Waiter! More water please!
guys mangaplus shueisha isn't loading, where to read?
I think I may just be fatigued right now of Imu art lol
Shounen jump app
me?Nah I been hatin on Imu day 1
is it free? I have to read from ch 1162 to current
I read about 15 chapters in 1 go as it feels more fulfilling
It's free for the last three current
I'm gonna try to color this
Weebcentral maybe
I just wanna see them do something and oda had to take a damn break
what do u talking about? It already is colored
I mean color it with the colorscheme i use
as if we haven't had this image colored a thosand times already
It's fun to color
Though it's kinda sad since we all know that Oda's color scheme is going to be NOTHING like the fan arts.
I will say I do enjoy how much people enjoy fan arting it lol
It's going to be like purple pink and green lmaopoo
As long as their hair stays white, i am satisfied.
and they'll be the most oversaturated tones you'll ever see
I still couldn't wrap my mind around Gunko having blue hair
I always imagined her as Blonde or light orange
The gorsei went from dark and creepy to like whimsiiical lol
Imu cursed Lily and trapped her spirit inside Zunesha, waiting for the day she chooses him. In his delusional mind, he believes she eventually will. That’s why he’s targeting Vivi..he plans to use her body as a vessel to bring Lily back.
it just felt right somehow
Interesting
I mean tbh
I'm surprised that the fan arts got Xebec's hair mostly right.
Imu probably has the grimore that the 72 fallen angels are in the king Solomon and enocky language thing
It could have went anyways tbh
Yeah, but how did the fans figure out that it was going to be part blue?
72 deamons/ angels are the devil fruits
not a fan of the blue hightlights mixed with white
Purly.....buggy lmaon
Insane.
People just wanted so badly for him to be buggy's father
Tbh if oda rearranged the story to fit buggy being xebecs son would the story suffer for it? Just have Roger have both kids join the ship at the same time lmao
Just delete teach
well Ace wasn't originally going to be Roger's Son
He and Luffy were geuninely gonna be related
Tho idk what if summers tried to trade Buggy his own kid for shanks because shamrock was threatening him and they just took buggy from him I mean buggy is blond in stampede
it has happened before
I think it would've been a lot cooler than Teach being the son of Xebec.
Teach should've just inherited the will, imo.
though Oda glazes buggy too much
I mean I get it and I feel like Xebec was created for bb plus you know the ships name but I do like buggy better
I imagine he'll make Buggy another will holder of joyboy
Oda doesn't glaze buggy enough!
He better!
He's clownboy!
Watch Buggy be the one to exact revenge for shanks death
If shanks were to be killed the two most upset people would be buggy and Luffy
It could be interesting if we never get to see buggy and shanks fight together to have Luffy and buggy do it in spiritual succession
Sorry I wanna see my boys back together more than the onepeice
Oda glazed Buggy enough actually
Appears in the story semi regularly and is now a warlord
More
Give me more!

I mean buggy sucked till impel down but he freaking became a favorite in marienford and has been a bigger joy than emperor pilaf
Same voice actor too

Same energy 🤣
Ngl I never found Pilaf funny
Buggy was entertaining at least
Yeah fr broo he is kinda irritating
lucci >
butter did you like imu
bro is the devil incarnated on earth
he's precisely meant to be edgy
like the point of it being devilish
i dont know man one of the best devil design ive seen is this guy
lmfao
i fucking hate the "the devil is just some guy" type shit ngl
he's meant to be beautiful and otherworldly at the same time
theres beauty in simplicity
imu does toe that well
theres just too much going on with imus design
and also, he's the precise opposite of luffy in aesthetic
I 100% agree with Harsh.
You should be able to look at them and know that it's the devil.
I've said it countless times here already but for me, Imu's design is just a 4/10
also im not buying imu is THE devil yet
what else is required for you to buy it
And Imu has that same f***ing belt as Rocks 🤣
im not even sure if this is imus real look
it might not be
he did transform after dropping
he transformed
Goofy Imu > full reveal Imu for me
but this is one of his forms
are you saying peter stormare is not beautiful
Good film
its not a good film tho
peter stormare is beautiful in an ugly way, great actor though
I liked it
I bought it even before the reveal. I've literally called him satan
but stormare carried the fuck out of it
constantine is a fun film
Guys did Cobra see Imu's full body or is he really a blob with a sort of coat?
cobra prob didnt see imu's form like this
this is a different form from what it was in that chapter
most of just just thought imu has a veil so cobra dint see shit
Would find it hilarious if there’s a boss behind Imu lol
Sow we're going back to veil imu maybe
no
like sabo should have seen imus face if he dint have a veil
dint mention it to dragon tho
now that he has been revealed, we'll see that base form too
I hope the colors are not messed up
Find it wild he’s being negged by being in the surface world
pray oda is over with his wano coloring craze
The insect realm stinks to a celestial dragon
basing on garlings coloring maybe not
Still think that even with that nerf going on he’s too much for everyone there rn
i saw this and im like why is bro doing the itachi pose
that thing on his back just reminds me of enel
He's actually standing straight. He just wears wide pants and has short legs
Thigh, is there anyway to paint so it looks like it's light
without going into filters
Wait nevermind, I figured it out
That's exactly what I dislike with this new Imu, his vibes are so "other-series", even the clouds have that "other-series" vibes, and his design as a demon isn't even original like goofy Imu was
would you prefer a funni chungus or female with massive honkers?
The worst part is that I'm very fine with both
Your is like an oversaturated OLED version
i still feel weirded out about how imu's shadow didn't show the horns
he transformed into this form
It's because it's a different form altogether
I fixed it.
Now it's not as saturated.
Lol
