Narative aside. As someone whose been week to week 20 years, I think Oda basically doesn't have a choice with law. Law basically had more panel time in part II than most of the Straw Hats except Luffy. Like He essentially was a recurring character for 10 years straight (350 chatpers). I also organized anime cons for a few years. Law was by far the most common cross played character. Like I imagine among women he is probably in the top 3 characters. Permanently, getting rid of him from the story in a single chapter, would piss a lot of fans off.

My point is that Oda could leave him out and it would work perfectly with the plot. He isn't part of luffy's crew. They can discover the void centruy history and leave him to find out about later after teh whole truth is let out for the rest of the world to discover. There is nothing tosay he has to be there when the reveal first happens.

I am trying to basically brace my self for making sure that I don't fall too far for head canon. Its celar to me Oda is trying to wrap up one piece asap. There are a lot of minor character lose ends that fans would like closure on, but it doesn't mean we get them. Already a lot of things that we want in the story are revealed via vivre cards or SBS. Its pretty clear to me now that the only things we can really expect is that the main story beats won't left unturned i.e., what is void century, what is the will of D, what is the one piece, how the straw hats dreams are completed. Everything else I view as being a ncie to have.
