Alabasta isn't a race, it's represented as a mix of cultures. Kinda like the US. Hence making the argument that anyone from Alabasta must be of a specific ethnicity sounds like saying anyong from the US should be white. It just doesn't follow. You can't boil down something that is stated to be a mix of cultures into saying the one you prefer should be the primary representative. Egypt was obviously the primary inspiration, but it was not the only one.

This is completely separate from the concept of whether or not any particular viewer would have preferred a given ethnicity from the list of viable ones used as real world inspirations. That's a personal thing and I can absolutely imagine a little girl from the SWANA region wishing she could see someone more like her in Vivi's role.

Yeah like people tried to tell me Vivi isn’t that different than others who had sailed with the crew before (like Carrot for example) yet she is the only one who gets that treatment, and not even Momo got that treatment too despite being called crewmate.

Hell what people failed to realize is that most of allies had only sailed with straw hats only once or twice on their ship and in most cases the crew itself had been split up in different islands during that period (for example Momo and Kinemon had never set foot on Dressrosa and he never went to WCI and in both arcs straw hats were separated into different groups) and it was more alliance between two or more groups, yet that never was the case with Vivi at all who not only had sailed in multiple whether all the members have been present, but also how Vivi is on her own besides Karoo so she isn’t part of another group when she sailed with straw hats.

And I still think it makes sense that Luffy would be mad at the deaths of people who fed him, that part is in character for sure. Him fighting Zoro for it and not taking his word for it is a little strange, but you have to remember that Zoro is kind of cruel and monstrous and impulsive sometimes so Luffy believing that things may have genuinely gone wrong between him and them like that also makes sense to me. The idea is that he was literally fooled into believing it by the members of Baroque Works too, because it was one of the members on the ground that told him what happened. Ultimately, its a vehicle for some funny little gags and is a gag in and of itself, and is not actually a big deal.

Also I disagree with the idea that this was some weird forced fan service fight between two popular characters for the sake of it, when the main idea here is for the fight to be played off for laughs, not seriously enough to even be a real fight lol
