i just feel like oda's best writing is when there's some sort of emotional catharsis or whatever, and oda can do things like this without much buildup as well so it doesnt have to be a huge moment or anything, hell he does it well for literal just one-liners sometimes, but it is easy to get over those one liners pretty quick and especially when they dont add a new spin on things with some kind of drama

If this was like, aftermath sort of thing and Ussop LITERALLY is an afterthought even then and there, then like I can totally get it. But I think Oda will make some room for Usopp given how big this arc is in regards to giant culture and how Ussop really admires it and how that becomes apart of his character. I think that theres still time for Oda to convey the final basis for his character in a way that'll do some justice to his characters and tie it back in a good knot.

I can understand the one liners not adding much being an issue but I guess my point is in this particular instance I can't really feel too angry since, of course Ussop would feel this way he admires these guys quite a lot to the point where it shaped his entire character significantly. Seeing giants doing cool shit and not reacting that way would be a bit odd. Is it exaggerated? Definitely, but I guess im a bit used to these sorts of things in regards to Oda character interactions. If this was like any typical sort of tropy liner thing then I'll be more annoyed. But I think in this situation I find it kind of nice since (unless im wrong and stupid) Usopp hasn't really reacted this way with giants since like, I think Egghead when they appeared? But yeah idk im more exhausted with some of the conversation regarding around how Ussop arc this and that. But I understand why people wouldn't be too enthusiastic at this point. But I think theres some space that still exists to make those story beats happen.

I think in the end every strawhat at least will get a great payoff, but Oda doesnt know what to do until then, like he cant fill in all the blanks. and he might have reached a point where he ran out of good stuff for the strawhats BEFORE all the good final stuff that hes only ready to give in the end so we leave with a good taste. (or if he actually ran out of stuff at all then im just gonna criticize him for that but I dont have much reason to believe that rn) I just hope its gonna be worth it, because it might still feel like a hole for that time in post timeskip where Oda cared more about the new characters he kept introducing or characters in the overall world than Luffys 10 friends

I thought it was generations before the current Germa. That they were hired to get the Revive fruit, and his battle convoy had to protect it, most were wiped out which is where Brook got the scar, and he was forced to eat it and go on the run. I still think that holds, but it won't be Germa and he had a bond with Gunko too.
