I actually think there is a tragedy in Kaido’s character which is that his entire life was filled with dehumanizing experiences that reinforced the worst parts of his nature. It’s almost a “he never stood a chance”

That’s why Yamatos character is impoetant, he’s a foil to Kaido showing how Kaido could have still overcame those experiences and been a good person so he’s not off the hook
