I suppose that’s true but those points can be countered argued like there had been a lot of characters had also sailed with the straw hats (especially in new world) that never ended up joining the crew and how Carrot never really had a strong bond with Luffy specifically (Oda tend to focus on that with a new crewmate) or at least focused on that, while Yamato on other hand he never had stronger bond with straw hats as a whole and didn’t sail with them at all, plus none of them have a proper dream or goal that made it necessary for them to set sail besides “I want to see the world” especially when said dream reflects on the role they would have had on the crew.

Also another big reason neither of had joined was because of the same reason why the straw hats wasn’t really the center of post time skip like pre time skip, and that’s because pre time skip was focused on building up Luffy’s relationship with his crew and him trying to recruit each crewmate, which is why all of the members are all pre time skip characters who had developed stronger bond with not just Luffy but also each other (this includes Jinbe and even Vivi too), while post time skip were more focused on the alliances on general who would play larger role in climax in either specific sagas or even the story as a whole and that was set up the moment the straw hats ended up being in new world, it’s this why nobody that were introduced in post time skip ended up joining the crew in first place.
