He then one shot Luffy, and then beat Luffy 3 more times running the most insane guantlet in the series. Still by far has the best performance in the series. Whitebeard with half a brain tucked away an admiral. He survived insane amounts of wounds. Even still took down Blackbeard before he cheated. These emperor tier characters all have amazing feats.
Is Oda trying to hype up shanks? Yes, that’s only natural. But when you consider the context of these scenes they all make sense. I think people blow a lot of shanks crap out of proportion. He can’t even be involved in the narrative in some way without people calling for “glaze”
