I think this panel here and the importance of dreams and nightmares are indicating to me at least that Loki has, in the past, transformed into creatures like: Fenrir, Ghosts, Draugr, Nidhoggr, Jormungander, all of them. So Loki is an incredibly versatile fighter with a wide variety of "forms". This means that people that theorized that Loki has [x] mythical zoan or [x] devil fruit could all be in right in the way that they are all combined into one: some sort of shape shifter. This would be a nice way to have a sprinkle of the IRL mythological Loki's powers in the OP Loki too.

I see some people say that Loki is a "dark" Nika, the God of Destruction, as opposed to Luffy's God of Liberation one too. Perhaps without speculating what type of Nika Loki could be, if Loki does have shape shifting as his main ability, then him being connected more to nightmares and Luffy being connected more to dreams would be a cool distinction.

PS. I think if this is the ability that Rocks was looking for then it would make sense that it would be useful for Harald to bring out the full potential - I don't know why but it just makes sense. Not the main idea of my theory.
