Blackbeard is a better character, is actually associated with Davy Jones, is the final boss, is more fitting as the DF guy to suffer the ultimate fate of both the sea and his greed by attaining immortality but being trapped forever, it removes the Yami and Quake from rotation so those powers cant threaten the world again as well, it’s also a spin on the popular idea of Blackbeard having a kraken power by becoming a symbol akin to the kraken as monsters in pirate and sailor stories
