Him being the previous user of the fruit isn't an answer, him being the original pirate and the original owner of the weapons who started a war against the government is an answer. Fishman Island wasn't concerned about what fruit power he may or may not have, but his connection to the island

We do know that "Joyboy" refers to the person who wrote the poneglyph, but just knowing they had Luffy's power doesn't really do much. The Nika lore was a good drop since we know it means Joyboy would've been freeing people, but Egghead is where we get resolution, Wano just continues the question

I can see where you're coming from, but calling it a resolution in Wano feels like it's just trying to satisfy that idea

That IS an answer because if someone asked you "who is Joy Boy in OP" and you said "the last guy to awaken the Gum Gum fruit," that would be an answer that's correct

Wano is the first arc that gives us substantial info about Joy Boy's identity after FMI

It's a resolution the same way finding out the location of Pluton is a resolution

There are still plot threads, but it answers one of the questions the series has raised for us

It being an answer that's correct doesn't satisfy who is Joyboy in the context of his relation to Fishman Island, which was the question being asked

Wano does gives us some substantial aspect of Joyboy's identity, that being the last awakened Nika, but that isn't a resolution to Robin asking that in Fishman Island

Finding out the location of Pluton is a resolution because that's almost all of the information resolved on Pluton. We went from it's a vague weapon to it's a ship to it's a ship hidden in Wano. Joyboy wasn't given anything that substantial until Egghead, where we learn that he wasn't just the last awakened user of the fruit but the first pirate and the person who "owned" the weapons, which is what actually resolves his relationship to Fishman Island.

If you were going broad and shallow enough to just look for any detail whatsoever, then sure you could call it resolved with us knowing something that doesn't really fulfill the actual question asked, but if you were looking for what gets followed up from Fishman Island then you'd have to get to Egghead for the most solid lead to it
