For me EP 382 ||Thriller bark suffers mainly because it follows Enies Lobby which might be one of the best arcs of One Piece. The other issue is that it is really slow and takes about 20 episodes to bring the stakes. It's the same in the manga as well though not as bad. I still think it's one of the weakest arcs in the story and the anime does nothing to justify it. The only thing a rewatch does is to show how many ideas were introduced there and the answers we are getting just now. That seems amazing ||

Chapter 247 +||Sorry I am pretty slow and meticulous with a anime once I begin it. I never really had the mindset to watch one piece because of various misconceptions that I’m correcting now. Sorry I digress. The anime’s story was certainly always a lighthearted affair chapter after chapter I enjoyed the meanings sprinkled here and there. I recently hit the foreshadowing of Aokiji and from there it seems some very deep darker toned themes were happening all at once by Oda. The impact of water 7 seems a huge threshold of themes that touch a heavier dark theme along with other veins of the story that also again I feel are uncharted territory in what was presented from episode one to where I am currently at in episode 250. What happened with oda and the sudden shift in gear , what was his mindset at the time or the instigating factor. It's hardly my imagination that things seemed to ramp up at Water 7 which is of course years gone by. ||
