Live action versions of non live action content (be it manga, games, or comics) are always worse off because the original content was made to be enjoyed in the medium it was created in and a great amount of nuances are either lost in translation or look incredibly poor in live action. Aside from that, I personally take it as an insult to the original media.

Just because people are too stupid or incapable of enjoying a piece of art through it's original medium doesn't mean we need to corral them in. A person watching the Fallout series, good as it is, isn't going to like Fallout for the same reasons I do, nor will they experience the same phenomena I did while playing the games. The worst thing this world of social media has created is needing to dumb everything down or make everything accessible to everyone. Sometimes, things exist better in smaller capacities. I don't need everyone around me to know what one piece is and I really don't give a shit if they do.
