PGs - Jrue Holiday (if he doesn't get traded lol), Scoot Henderson:

Jrue is older but still stout defensively, I imagine chauncey will either start him at PG or have him play SG if Scoot develops, or if he's truly shot offensively he'll play off the bench I guess, but I just don't see that happening.

Thankfully for us Scoot (going into his third year) showed a lot during the 2nd half of last year, offensively matured and defensively looked more patient. We need him to take another step as a shooter as he's already quite a good passer.

SGs - Shaedon Sharpe

Shaedon (going into fourth year) is a traditional SG who can create his own offense. He's really hot/cold and we'd like to see him take another step in being more consistent. His defense is pretty bad but he's athletic and long so the potential is there.

Forwards - Toumani Camara, Deni Avdija, Jerami Grant, Matisse Thybulle

Camara (going into his third year) can play 2-4 and is already one of the best defenders in the league as a 2nd year. Guy is phenomenal both on and off ball and is a great player to watch, will 100% always start for us. Developed well offensively last year (though he's a bit streaky) and I'd like to see him continue, but even at his current production he's an elite role player.

Avdija is a 6th year player but is still only 24, looked phenomenal down the stretch last season in every position he played (even small ball 5), and is really coming along. He's basically just good (not great) at everything, but that's extremely valuable for a team that needs scoring bad and he averaged like 25ppg down the stretch last year.

Before last year, Grant was really good for us. Good at shooting and solid defensively, mostly off-ball but still valuable. But his scoring always relied on his own creation, and last year he looked aaaaawwwwful for whatever reason (lingering injuries probably) so he hurt the team a lot. I don't really know where he'll stand next year, hopefully he gets into a groove again. He plays 3 or 4.

Thybulle is a defensive specialist and finally returned from an extremely long-term injury last year. He's pretty valuable for us as an on-ball defender, will come off the bench and play more in certain matchups. Can play 2 and 3.

Centers - Donovan Clingan, Robert Williams, Hansen Yang, Duop Reath

Clingan (going into his second year) is already a great rim protector, guy is like 7'2" and huge, rebounds well and is pretty immovable. Needs to work on his fouling and getting a bit more offensively, has been trying to shoot 3s but he's not quite there yet lol. He'll start for us but I don't know if he'll be playing 30 minutes a game, he did when Ayton and Williams got injured last year but we played a lot of small ball 5 minutes and Clingan ended up being matchup dependent. Hopefully he progresses.

Robert Williams is actually insane, one of those players where you can see his impact the minute he enters the court. Extremely smart player, does everything right defensively, sort of limited offensively but makes smart passes and is a great screener. Good at rebounding. So why doesn't he start? he's constantly fucking injured. The guy had this issue in Boston as well, just could not stay healthy at all. He also might get traded mid-season, so we'll see, playoff teams want him. His nickname is Timelord cause he kept showing up late to meetings as a rookie on the celtics lol.

Yang is our rookie this year and has looked pretty good in the summer league so far. The kid is a good rim protector, good passer, and has a decent post game, but he's limited as a shooter and fouls a LOT. I think generally, this year is going to be a learning one for him, and we'll see where he's at next year when the position clears up more. I think the team wants to try playing him at 4 and Clingan at 5 in certain matchups, but I don't really know if that's going to work, so we'll see; it would require Yang to develop a lot as a shooter.

Duop Reath is an offensive big who's probably going to get some minutes early on in the year when Timelord inevitably gets injured and Yang just isn't ready. He's pretty limited defensively but is a good shooter, and his nickname is great: "The great barrier Reath" (he's an australian national)

Sooo that's it basically. The depth chart is basically:

PG: Jrue/Scoot, Scoot/Jrue
SG: Deni, Jrue? Shaedon, Toumani, Matisse, Rayan Rupert (young player who hasn't shown much)
SF: Grant, Deni, Toumani, Matisse
PF: Toumani, Deni, Grant, Kris Murray (young player who hasn't shown much, played a bit of small ball 5 last year for us)
C: Clignan/Timelord, Timelord/Clingan, Hansen, Duop

The points of intrigue are whether Jrue or Scoot start at PG, whether Clingan starts at C even when Timelord is healthy, and whether Shaedon starts, but it's either him or Grant (where Deni slides down to SF if Shaedon starts and Grant gets benched) and that'll just depend on how both of them are playing, because you simply cannot bench Deni or Camara at this point.
