hip drop ban is getting way too much hate, it's a niche and complicated tackle that's extremely risky for the one being tackled as it involves the defender concentrating all their weight into their hips, dropping onto the defender's lower legs. A heavy player doing this can easily cause bones and tendons in the leg to snap, ending the season on the spot. People hating on this rule change because they think this bans a wide variety of tackles is pretty shortsighted imo, it doesn't seem like they truly read what the tackle involves.
