Nhl won the war
WHA teams were absorbed into the NHL

Same thing happened to ABA teams
Why did they let this die
And the NBA
Any chance you can send the coyotes to Cincinnati
Send that random team that’s in the east to the west
No one would budge tbh
The only teams that would be able to would be like Detroit and they fought really hard to be in the east
Really wanted to be with the cool kids
Send them back
Or the blue jackets
Isn’t Cincinnati close to the predators?
Didnt have enough money to survive
Only merger on equal terms was NFL-AFL cause the AFL actually started becoming profitable
Never will there be a bigger fleecing than the New York Nets when they joined the NBA
A corner for the Colts
Casual fans are supposed to recognize someone with a generic ass name like Isaiah Rodgers?
I mean he did get that pick 6 against the Vikings
In the game they gave up that historic lead
Actually scratch that
He did not get that pick 6
But they don’t have halites
Unlike the other three ABA teams entering the NBA, who played in cities without any NBA presence, the Nets were required by the NBA to pay an "encroachment fee" of $4.8 million (equivalent to $25 million in 2022) to the New York Knicks. The team financed that payment by selling Doctor J's contract to the Philadelphia 76ers; and the Nets went from winning the last ABA title in 1975–76 to having the worst record in the NBA in 1976–77. The team then moved back to New Jersey in 1977 and became the New Jersey Nets.
"NFL investigating colts player who may have gambled on his own games"
Player in question:
Fr
He is a starter for them
Apparently the league is against having 2 teams in the same region. So no to two teams in Texas
So he’s not some scrub
Damn
You'll have to explain the following then:
Islanders and Rangers (NY)
Kings and Ducks (Southern CA)
Penguins and Flyers (PA)
Sens and Leafs (Ontario)
Don't forget the Panthers and Bolts
And if we are expanding even further, the Devils could be thrown in with the Rangers and Islanders as well as the Sabres
I was told that Quebec couldn’t have a team because of the Montreal market so I thought it applied for any new team that wants to join
It's not that they cant
It's that Montreal would be really hard on saying no as much as they could
The NHL can expand wherever it wants to
provided the city wants that
Provided it’s not in Canada
Bunch of losers
Why would you not want a derby
Doesn’t rivalries bring in money?
Not as much as having the whole pie to yourself
But they already don’t have those fans
Not necessarily only in person fans
See Montreal also gets all the local tv rights
Don’t go to Quebec City with a Montreal jersey
They get to put their merch and more of it in stores
It’s a death sentence
Not disagreeing. Just if another team moves in that's less everything for Montreal
Houston and Dallas are far from each other too tbh
That’s like a 4/5 hour drive dude
But doesn’t the league share the tv revenue?
Quebec is 3 hours not that different
4 if you take a detour to go eat a poutine at Drummond
It does but idk all of the deals teams have. I am not an expert. Just on paper Montreal has very very little incentive to want Quebec City to come back
Even though I’d much rather prefer it over Arizona
But honestly having a whole market to yourself sure brings more money but makes it so much boring for fans
Fuck game 2 hype

The NHL gives no shits as long as it brings money
I know I said it last game but T-Mobile is def high on the list. Always feels like it’s pumping
T seen many two team arrangements work
Sane reason Hamilton won't get a team
I’d be livid if they did
Montreal don’t have an incentive to bring anyone. They’re already bad enough as it is
I don’t know how it works in nhl but watching the football team from Montreal in tv is impossible unless you have the local network because of French stupid laws
I paid 100$ to have dazn which had the whole mls except games from Montreal
Because the French channel had the rights to the team
Gib Hamilton a team. Or Halifax I don't care lol
Just expand a bunch of teams
Tbh I am team Quebec City as is. It wont happen but I wish it would
Hawaii, Cincinnati, Saskatoon, Quebec, Houston and Salt Lake City
If Gary wasn’t a moron he’d expand
Gary wants teams in America
Oh that reminds me
His Arizona Obsession is proof enough
Mexico City
Shit lmao
And we need a last one to reach 40
I would be more likely to say Quebec City than Mexico City
The day the NHL expands to Mexico is the day I walk on water
Uhm. Fuck it put one in Portland
Put the last one in Halifax
Oh my bad dude
Portland loves hockey man
You were a second too late
Lol it's fine
We had just reached 40
I’ll call Henrick

He’ll bring it to life
Fuck salt lake let’s do Portland

I love the Timbers
Portland pine Woods
So we have the nordiques, the pines, the vulcanos, stingers, the hockey club de mexico, a team in Halifax Houston and Saskatoon
Lacking ambition
I dont think 40 would be that bad tbh
40 would work in Europe
The continent is big enough
Why Europe but not NA lol
Go big or go home
Neymar in shape for next season 💀
It’s not enough. We need more to adapt to everyone. Not enough teams for every market. Think about the poor Hawaiian fans
Why is the kid in better shape
he hasn't trained in months+ it's probably just bloating
ah slightly bigger than the nba
Buffalo had 26 players last season
Hawaiian Hockey
Now we have gone too far

Gary when he sees the travel bills
Don’t disrespect my vulcanos
I have a good friend who is a native to Hawaii. I am pretty sure she would laugh her ass off at the idea lmao
Don’t worry he’ll be long gone by that time
Who doesn’t want an ice surrounded by lava
ITS GAME 2 TIME ( in twelve minutes )
36 teams is probably ideal in the future
Vulcanos are coming to take over the sport
36 in nba, nfl, and mlb too ?
nfl franchises could likely succeed anywhere no?
The NFL is 100000% expanding in the next decade
idk about the others
10000%
So is the nhl
The NBA will eventually too. Gotta get that Vegas money
NFL team would be able to play in a muddy field in Alabama and kill it
Because they would have to deal with the popularity of
Roll Tide
It could work but like Bama fans like Bama
And idk if I see much else succeeding personally
They’d support an nfl team too. Plenty are falcons fans
It wouldn't be the first place I see the nfl expand to
The NFL wants Europe so bad
If anything to get to 36
Somewhere in Canada, St. Louis, and then the other 2 are up for grabs
They stalk Europe, throw rocks at Europe's house, hope to get invited to Europe's house parties
Lucky for you we’ve expanded to 40
Why else would they havw games in fucking Munich, Germany
No offense to Germany
But like
Bro
They won’t go to Europe
Nba only at 30 and they haven’t seemed like they have a real expansion team coming
40 for nhl
Nhl just expanded
Too much backlash in my eyes and too much with the travel issues imo
If they can make it work, I am putting my money on London getting a team
So like unless Bettman got a fat wad of cash right now
Hé ain’t expanding in the near future
Bettman out Henrick comes and saves the sport
But if there is no avenue, I think somewhere in Texas or the South in general
I don’t think they expand soon like people anticipate
I think they will at some point but yeh maybe like closer to 5-10 years from now
I think in the next 5 years the NBA expands
You gotta be the top sport in North America
They will at some point this decade
Or at least announces the plans to
Like 30 is just weird
There's no way in hell Silver looks at the money and Vegas and goes "no I am good"
I can see the nfl going south again tbh…maybe okc but that’s not south to me
That’s Great Plains type shit
Come to Canada if they expand
I swear if the nfl expands further and doesn’t come up north
In fucking Washington
Canada have their own sport
I don’t think they’d have an option
CFL? Come on its trash
NFL would definitely go to Canada imo
They for sure will if they go beyond 32
I could see them going Toronto but no further
Have to if they do
Yeh Toronto or Vancouver for me
If they go into Canada, that's my team
Saying it rn
Just like if the Sonics come back
Maybe Montreal but that’d be bold
They would be my basketball team
After St. Louis, anything is possible for the nfl in my eyes
Just move the chargers to Edmonton
But st Louis should def have a spot
Might actually work out better there
Alberta would kill for an American football team
At least Calgary would
Think about it, cowboy shit, bull riding, pure blooded farm life
Add in American football??
NFL for sure would go Toronto default
Fuck you're basically American besides the fact your government's flag has a leaf on it
not that it's that different now in a lot of the Praries
Leaked Sab photo:
That’s really you
Who else would put that on their arm
Also you were right siren lol
My anger at the leafs is very high
They've done a lot of things
To piss me off
I thought you had done good from an outsider perspective
Tbh the playoff shit hurt but like
That isn't why I am angry
It's the fact Leafs players were throwing each other under the bus, it's Shanahan FIRING DUBAS.?? It's hiring Treliving, it's saying no core 4 will move, it's extending Sheldon Keefe
This is the shit that makes me angry
Imo the Leafs got worse by a lot by doing what They've done
Reminder, Brad Treliving is your GM now. with superstars asking for extensions. I can tell you right now. I dealt with the drama of Johnny Hockey and Matthew Tkachuk. You better hope Brad learnt from that mess last season.
Although, I still would love to have William Nylander
And he won't have. Shanahan will tell him what to do
And we will be good enough to get to the playoffs but fucking outta no where Columbus or Montreal will come up and smack us in the mouth
Or we get a 3 -1 lead on someone like Boston and we shit our pants
Then everyone will hum and hah and Matthews fucks off to Chicago to play with Bedard while Marner gets a big deal from us to save face
It's like you said Siren, the Canadian teams are stuck in old hockey ways
But god damn I aint leaving the Leafs or the Oilers lmao
I didn’t get the Dubas thing either. I think the team needs to keep what’s good and reinforce. There’s potential right there, this team is as good as it’s been in decades
In the Flames and Jets case. It's "we're allergic to the word 'rebuild'."
What about my canucks?
Canucks are a tire fire
Is that a good thing?
It means shitshow
You sure know how to pick teams San Juan
Hey at least the Sabres might do something this year
Idk what that something is
But it'll be something
You know what that is the Leafs down fall
The Sabres get in as like a 5 or something right
They play the Leafs in round 2
Being the leafs
4-0 sweep Sabres
BTW 1-0 Knights
GO KNIGHTS BABY YEAH
Ew
I hate the Knights but I hate Matthew Tkachuk so much more
My Matthew Tkachuk hate is reach Peyton Manning levels of salt man
And I loathed Peyton Manning
Fine. I'll get you that Tkachuk jersey.
I loved Peyton manning too lol
Fucking why
Trev hasn’t committed to anything tbf
I respected everything he did as a QB
Ah I shouldnt ask that. Everyone that wasnt a pats fan loved Manning
Dominant calling his own plays damn near
I don’t like manning
I didn't like Peyton for how the media would excuse every choke he had in the playoffs.
The media was obsessed with Manning I swear
They were.
Growing up with Brady v Manning and every year the media riding Manning so hard it was no wonder every team he played for had a horse mascot
I only pick peak. No but really I want to witness history being made so I already start by refusing teams that have already won a cup
They'd say Peyton was this master general. But the media would blame the OCs if Peyton choked. But Peyton is suppose to be the general of the offense, right?
Every year people riding mahomes so hard rn
Manning choked a lot yes but his defense was so butt in Indy
Score a bunch of goals then collapse?
Peyton was a master general in the sense of the term. Nobody could call plays like him
Not perfect of course but he got busy with the calls
That would be funny
Oh absolutely
Too bad it lead to his own downfall 85% of the time
And that’s why I loved him
Eh, his defense did more against him than anything
Jeraud Powers was the number one corner
My favorite and I've said it countless times. It was right after Peyton choked against his former team in the 2014 playoffs. And you have Adam saying a day after the game that Peyton was playing with a torn rectus femoris. Like BS like that is why I was glad when Peyton retired. If the injury was such a problem then why wasn't it mentioned before the game and the weeks before the season ended? just excuses.
I don’t know if we’re ready, we still need defenders and hullebuyck
my favorite non pats sb wins were the Saints in 09. Peyton Manning losing a sb in 2013 to the Seahawks was also muah
I try not to let the media influence my liking of a qb because we will likely not see someone play the game like Peyton for a while
And it was a great thing to see
Peyton was a problem in that game too. That ball doesn't go over his head if Peyton wasn't trying to be such a perfectionist trying to change the play.
The media was not the main reason I hated Peyton Manning
I was a pats fan in the height of Brady v Manning
Was addressing shadow and the media coverage I know why you hate him lol
Oh lol
I was gonna say trust me the media just feuled a fire that was stoked the moment that asshat walked into Foxborough
Wait? We blaming the qb for a bad snap? Cmon now
The bad snap happened because Peyton kept trying to change the play with so little time left on the snap clock
Doesn’t matter, a center should snap the ball correctly. Line change or not
The snap happened because he got confused. And you know why that is.
Lol, that does not excuse snapping the ball over a head
My center and any o line coach ever would never have blamed me for a bad snap
It was lack of communication which, yes, a lot of the blame also goes on Peyton.
No, communication should not diminish your ability to deliver an accurate snap unless you went from under center to gun
And even then it’s a stretch
If anything it goes low
Not high
The snap was early. Clearly he thought Peyton was gonna hike the ball. You can see it.
HE THOUGHT, that’s on him. There is a sign to give your qb if you are confused as a center
The accuracy of your snap in that manner is on the center
Vinny, Peyton clearly looked like he was gonna hike the ball and then quickly tried to the change the play and it was too late. Both guys are to blame. Period
No, lol
Watch Peyton's hand before he moves forward.
You want to blame Peyton for it and now saying both. Neither is the case to me. As a center your job is to snap the ball according to your qb. Period
If Peyton didn’t go forward that ball still flies over his head. Peyton stepped with his right leg, did not raise. The center misread the movement
The noise the seattle fans brought did not help
Manny Ramirez is an idiot for sayin that was Peyton’s fault too, and he got pegged on twitter for that
Peyton doing all the hand signals with also that crowd noise. Manny Ramirez should get some fault put the bottom line is Peyton shouldn't have been doing that shit on the first play at all.
One can say Peyton shouldn’t have gone for the audible, but Peyton wasn’t catching that ball even at normal distance
Maybe wemby would have
But besides that play. I'm always gonna look at Peyton. As chokes and excuses.
To me, you follow your qb. Period. Yes, tough spot for manny to be in. Peyton could do better, but nothing there signals snap unless there is a silent count, but I’m not registering that at all.
And yes, Peyton’s a choker. I never disagreed
The saints bowl 100% said that to me
Oh i'm not saying that part directly at you. I was saying in general.
He got lucky that NE blew a lead and that the Chargers blew a game before that.
Peyton would be a better OC than QB imo, but he’d need to put his perfectionist attitude aside
they really lost to the chargers in the playoffs two years in a row
Peyton worst enemy next to Brady was Rivers and LT
so you're saying he'd be that good of an OC? damn
He was 10-4 vs the chargers tho
In the regular season.
I genuinely do if he didn’t have that perfectionist attitude
Eh, 1-2
Same Colts team that didn't lose a game in November or December and lost to a 8-8 Bolts team in the playoffs
Not great but I don’t think they were an enemy fr
Peyton was his own worst enemy if anything
He was.
Every time he'd panic just throws the ball deep to be knocked down or picked.
Bill Belichick praises Ed Reed "Best play I have seen a free safety make'
My favorite vid of all time
Favorite play of all time
This was so fucking elite I couldn’t even describe it right
That 2012 playoff game against the Ravens. People love talking about Flacco bombing it away to victory. Fucking Peyton tries it and get's picked every time.
2012? That would be luck
I'm talking about the Bronco game
The biggest disappointment ever was Bill never having Ed Reed.-.
Not a disappointment
At all
One bit
Not for you no
Ed Reed former Hurricane legend.
But Ed Reed in your system at that time woulda been like putting a badass engine in a rusted out truck
But in ours it woulda super charged our defense
This play still amazes me over 15 years later

I get Peyton made mistakes, but he won them that game….
Rahim Moore SOLD
I also say this full well knowing we are fucking garbage now
Deeper than the deepest man. Number 1 fucking rule in that position
He really did
Were the Ravens an underdog against the Patriots in the championship game?
Don’t remember
In our system? I ain’t even say nothing bout the lions. He was an elite raven and should’ve played his whole career there
3-0 VEGASSSSS
In 2011 or 12?
Yeh sorry I misread then was petty. I admit that
My bad
Trying to work on that
Lee Evans too
So that makes 8 goals in 2 games against Bob. Life is good for Florida Downfall enjoyers
I didn't look at the Ravens being underdogs those playoffs personally. Esspecially NE. The Ravens were a TD catch away from facing the Giants in the SB the year before.
Completely agree
The Ravens weren't really ever underdogs against us
Just not the favored team if that makes sense
Pats favored in both but Flacco had the greatest playoffs I’ve ever seen in 2012
Was mid after. He was always elite in playoffs and mid in reg
The ACL tear happened, with the fact the game changed at the QB position since 2012. He was just the right QB at the right time I guess
Playoff Flacco > Playoff Peyton
I remember in 2013 the next year. The Ravens played Denver and Denver shredded them it was nuts
Vinny
I agree
Entirely
That was the 7 TD game. I really felt bad for Raider and Charger fans during that Manning era in Denver. Seemed like Peyton would take his anger out on Oakland most years.
4!!!!!
BOB MAGIC IS OVER TIME TO GO BACK TO YOUR HOLE IN FLORIDA TKACHUK YOU LITTLE RAT
BOB was not stopping that. The Rats have no answers for the Knights counterattack so far
Also, 100% wanted to say, @dim kettle you were arguing with a biased entity on the center thing. Just letting that be known as I played QB/CB but no hard feelings
Can’t believe you doing this rn😭
Vinny, the Matthew Tkachuk downfall arc is what I was waiting for
Completely fine with me, man. I don't take these discussions too seriously to effect me. Just usual sports talk to me.
This arc fucking sucks
The ending is the best part. Sanjuan seeing his guy win the cup.
Jack Eichel looking real close to that cup
Like I promised if that happens I’ll gift my sabres jersey
Seeing Florida fail is like vitamins for my body
And now Florida showing their true colors
On a side note, if Tkachuk doesn't win the cup, I don't have to hear Sportsnet shit on the Flames much because of the trade.
They start losing, they start throwing tantrums
Hey just like Boston
They act like rats so it fits
Come on Sabres knock these salty fucks out of the playoffs next time eh
Oh yeah but when eichel throws a tantrum he’s viewed like a hero
I wouldn't say that
Fuck both these teams
I just don't see him doing it
I see Florida do bullshit every game
The Rats did the same thing to the Bolts the last few years. Tampa took control of the series and the Panthers started cheapshoting star players.
I don’t give a shit for next season if that guy wins a cup
That's what the Panthers have done nearly every game this playoffs that anyone gives them a challenge
Can they cheap shot eichel
Just turns out no one is giving them a challenge
All rights go to the NHL. I do not own the music and the footage used in this video. For entertainment purposes only.
I am glad we are recognizing the garbage Florida has been pulling for a while
Vegas does that shit too
Used to be a lot worse when Ryan Reaves was there
Ryan Reaves catches Tyler Motte in the head with a huge body check that gets him ejected, with the Vegas Golden Knights assessed a five-minute misconduct in Game 7 against the Vancouver Canucks.
After a Reaves headshot on Tyler Motte, the #VegasBorn bench:
"What?"
"Are you fucking kidding me?"
"Completely clean hit!"
"Way to put your head back!"
To Virtanen: "Fucking Patrick Maroon, you're so fucking fat."
Very Golden Knights-y performance as Motte is helped off.

and assign each player a "magnet guy" who moves them around with a large magnet from under the rink
you can have two hockey games going on at once basically
Hill is the hype rn
He's gotta milk it all the way here. He may or may not have a performance like this again.
Makes me wonder about Robin Lehner though. He's gonna be back next season.
At this rate, just be in the moment if I am Hill
Who knows what happens but you're in the finals
Playing out of your mind
Get your cup and the rest works itself out
Like I said, you gotta milk it when you can.
So you can fool teams like St.Louis to giving you a max contract that you'll regret the moment you hand him the pen
The sabres once tricked the president of the nhl into thinking they were inventing a special plastic ice that would replace a hockey ring called sliderex for April’s fool
Milk talk
Right yet again...

The recent vibe coming out of #49ers headquarters suggests a belief Brock Purdy is the favorite to be the team's starting QB when the season opens Sept. 10 at the Steelers.

Which he should.
Yeah I mean
Brett Howden is going to win a cup man
No question if he’s healthy

Former Ranger players winning a cup. A tale as old as time itself.
Didn’t happen in 2018 🥲
One year of salvation
Funny though, Howden was drafted by Tampa
He has Tommy John so it should be alright there
It’s not like a normal injury
Yes he was on the Mac deal
Tommy John they switch a ligament around and it’s like as strong as it was
I'd love to see him succeed. Was great to watch last season
There’s winning clubs and development clubs. Those star players have to develop somewhere
Good.
Rangers are indeed best farm system for the Lightning.
Think the rangers still have 2 pieces from that direct trade but otherwise all gone and the two left aren’t going to make it so
Sabres playoff run 2024
Can't wait for Alexis Lafrenière to be traded to Tampa and becomes a superstar.
Dorofyev bringing the cup back home

Say it with me everyone: Matthew Tkachuk is a rat bastard!
giannis im sure could have been a killer goalie if he had the reaction time
we've never had like, a gigantic athletic goalie like that have we?
how tall is tibo?
Every big hit isn't a dirty hit. An example is the one Matthew Tkachuk put on Jack Eichel. Eichel had the puck and lost his footing right before. You might not like it (or you love it), but it was legal.
tibo has a 203 cm wingspan, giannis has a 225 cm one
guess this NHL final is going to be Vegas's
ugh
Vasi
Well, 2-0 series lead is not good. But it's not 100% over yet.
vasi is like 6'4
Yep
idk if a 7 footer would do good in footy, they gotta be good at going to the ground quick tbf
but tibo is great so who knows
Hopefully he doesn’t come back
I think it'd have to be someone like giannis - just a complete athletic freak
Oh and it’s legal even better
there's a 6'11 goalie in like level 7 english football apparently lol
Then why do they say it’s legal?
He got penalized. But clearly rn it's mixed thoughts around.
I don’t think it was as dirty as some folks think
He should be applauded
Not penalized
He ain’t a great guy by any means but it wasn’t insane to me
It's Matthew Tkachuk. He would make purely fallen snow dirty
He’s great now to me
I don't think it was 100% dirty. But it's also Tkachuk. The refs aren't gonna give him a benefit of a doubt.
Fuck Tkachuk
- it's the finals
Everything is more serious
I know I love him too.
Love tkachuck
He showed his true colors already yesterday
If the cats lose Tkachuk they're donezo
When he had that cheap shot
Was it on eichel?
No
Should have aimed it at eichel

This one
Seriously the dude is garbage incarnate
Like I said
Vegas would get him the treatment he needed

Fuck me
Unfortunately, Sam Bennett and Tkachuk haven't changed much from Calgary.
Treatment is slang where I’m from so this sentence is too funny to me😭
Can't have shit in Detroit
Nope. Just two pieces of trash now in Florida
I gotta go out there and hit up my boys in Greektown
Eichel and?
I said Florida
Where I grew up within it….not at all lol
Isn’t he in Florida?
No?
Now the Panthers score
We in Vegas rn
Edmonton really let me down man
TIme to blow a 4-0 lead to piss Sab off
Wasn’t the first game also in Vegas?
Yes
Vegas Vegas Florida Florida Vegas Florida Vegas
Assuming it goes to 7
That's who's home
No, it was the Flames hat note.
I didn’t know that
Touche
Was it always like that?
Yes
I didn’t know that
That’s a big advantage to the first team
Jack, man
Oh no what did that fucker do?
We're really gonna see Jack Eichel win a cup before Connor Mcdavid
And he's gonna fully deserve it
I’m going to root for richarlison for the rest of my life
Panthers did it again. Stop over pursuing the puck in your end. You leave opponents wide open in the slot.
You're already cheering for the sabres, difference in quality won't be too much of a change
Panthers clearly need me
Remember when Ramos put Salah to the ground
Remember when Eichel was a Sabre
No
Yeah fair enough
Panthers need to go away
Not used to having good players
I remember when the Sabres had good players.
Judge jury and executioner
We don’t need no diva who thinks they’re more important than the rest of the team
I don't think Eichel did think that
We have right now
Talking pre this era
"Hey Buffalo I think this is the surgery I need, I want it fully fixed rather than temporarily"
"Nah"
I think Eichel and Reinhardt got pissed at the way Buffalo handled their medical stuff
But yea he was full of himself
He did. He acted like he was better than everyone else and the management allowed it. They treated him like a god and he thanked us by making us look bad
I remember Ryan Miller. Was a top 5 goaltender for many years.
I remember when Jack Eichel said "I'm gonna Eichel all over this team" and then proceeded to Eichel everywhere. Truly a moment in sabres history
From the articles I've read and stuff it just didn't look like that was what was happening
I wasn't watching the Sabres sure
But it didn't look like that was the case
Because it wasn't lol
Tldr
Eichel was the #1 player there and the surgery he wanted would've had him out for a significant chunk of time. We're talking, full season time. Sabres didn't want their star player and #1 producer out that long so they kept pushing the temporary fix surgery rather than the full fix/replacement. Basically Sab, imagine if Purdy was 10x the star he is in terms of status, he gets injured, and SF wants to do the temporary surgery rather than full on Tommy Johns.
The doctor didn’t approve the surgery because it was viewed as dangerous. We didn’t want to risk his life. He still wanted it so we allowed him to move away for way less than he was worth and he thanked us by making us look like we were bad guys and celebrating goals to our face. That for me is unacceptable, you don’t celebrate against your old team, have some shame
risk his life
It's not his heart. The team doctors found excuses as told to them by the organisation so they could prevent him for going for the full surgery
If it was so dangerous, the second opinion wouldn't have recommended it.
It was an experimental surgery. You really want us to go around the back of our medical expert and risk getting into a tragedy and legal issue?
That's closer to what I've read
Reinhardt of the Panthers was really pissed at how Buffalo doctors treated him as well
When a player is telling your team physios "hey I am in full mental capacity and I want this surgery, not what you're recommending" , legality goes into the bin. He's asking for it, he knows what he wants, he's an adult
You're acting as if they're implanting a new brain into him
Lance stays
I fully support our medical staff, they’re professionals and have done wonders. Maybe they made mistakes but it’s not a reason to treat the club as if we’re monsters and insult the fans who had nothing to do with the decision of the club. He’s a smug prick
Gotta understand the context of the situation. The Sabres were and quite frankly still are a poorly run mess at the top. Only getting lucky to run into a GM that can draft good. Pretty much in spite of the Pegulas as owners. Eichel was gonna leave one way or another when he did.
Nah if he can’t start he’s gone and I’m finally freed of hearing about him
Kinda wish he’d get traded already
So we can just focus on the guys we know can ball
Honestly, I still can't be on the side of getting angry at Eichel. Sabres got return back from him leaving. While the Isles got nothing for Tavares walking. My Flames got nothing for Johnny Hockey walking.
Purdy can throw the ball well just stick with it
As a professional athlete your health is the concern of the club and if your doctor tells you to follow a surgery and it backfires which thankfully it didn’t, you’re going to blame them
Get some bench warmer behind him and darnold
As a human my health is the concern of myself and no matter what organisation I work for I am looking out for myself
Eichel knows what he needed better than the team does, sorry.
Then why do the players love the pegulas and what they’ve done for the community. Terry may not be the most competent owner but he cares about our club
As he puts Sabre legends in cheap chinese knock off jerseys and has his wife in charge of hockey operations.
Because any club can host events and do community outreach. That doesn't mean they're not run like shit.
Fucking
We’re mad because he treated us like trash while we praised him for years. If he had gone quietly there wouldn’t have been a problem
Pablo Escobar was loved by his home community and did community outreach, built homes etc (which to be fair I commend him for). Does that suddenly mean he wasn't a drug lord?
Having supporters and yes men doesn't mean you aren't running something poorly
6-1
Knowing the context of Eichel's situation, I would be pissed at Buffalo too
Told tall. Vegas has too much
We love to see it
I’m not saying he shouldn’t do the surgery. He should if he believes it’s the right thing despite the recommendations of the club. Just not as a sabres player
Panthers faced almost no physicality throughout the playoffs
Yea that's what he did so now I'm failing to see your issue at all
You don't get to say "he can do the surgery but not as a sabres player" then get mad at him for leaving the sabres who wouldn't pay for his procedure
Like?
No one is biting back on them more than Vegas , for sure
Vgk defense is so involved
Why are you comparing a hockey club owner to a tyrant that ruined the lives of thousands of people from my country. He’s a scumbag that I hope rots in hell for eternity, don’t compare him to Terry
Is paying off in fucking SPADES
That was a fire workout🥵
Congratulations to aurs for winning the 2008 carling cup 15 years ago
Even then, I think a lot of Sabres fans understood Jack's predicament
1 cup in the last 20 years
What I mean is, just because people support him, doesn't mean that he's suddenly the best owner in the league or that he's free of criticisms
Man give up
But Buffalo did win in the deal
The Audi cup
Omg Snyder did something for the community!!!! Clearly he’s a good owner
Like I said, the Sabres got return back for Eichel. Flames didn't get any for Johnny Hockey leaving for Ohio
That’s it
Yeah flames are fucked
At least that’s the one saving grace
Flames though I felt did the right thing last year
Flames are fucked so bad I'm reading it in bubbles' voice
And they did the right thing traded Tkachuk even if they’ll always lose that deal lol
Flame as cold as lighting a wet piece of paper on fire
Right idea - wrong execution
Can't say the trade is a bust yet. Who knows if Jonathan Huberdeau has a comeback year this upcoming season
After taking Milan from 12th to a Scudetto, from without CL football for eight years to participating three years back-to-back and making it to the semifinals - all with minimum resources - the new Milan management has now fired Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara. Bizarre decision.
338
didn't know this was happening in milan
Inter did this with Conte, remember
yeah
It's so bizarre
Or fucking
Spurs
Firing Mourinho
Before the final

Absolute fucking dipshits
a new club chairman came in
I see comments under Tkachuk highlights these playoffs saying stuff like "Flame fans probably don't like what they're seeing". And I'm like, it's only one year.
I demand New Vegas DLC based around the hockey team
Im not mad that he left. I was happy for him when he did. I’m mad that after he left all he did was act like we were bad guys when we did what’s best in the situation
But you didn't
You did what was best for the organisation
If an organisation wants to succeed they need to care about their players
What they did was completely anti player
In many ways, the Sabres are the bad guys.
Yeah ultimately the Buffalo organization wasn’t comfortable with the surgery
Imagine if a company had a star secretary who was asking for her maternity leave and they only gave her a month rather than the full because of how important she was to the company. Is she suddenly the bad guy for wanting her full time off?
I get what you meant but it’s just very poorly chosen words. I have been personally affected by the atrocities of the Medellin cartel
I’m having a hard time for analogies myself but
Let's face it, that Sabres rant around that 2019-2021 period didn't just come out of thin air. Like that was the state of the organization at that point. And you know, we're talking about how good they've been, so much talent. Let me just ask one thing. What's the odds the Eichel situation happens again?
Unlikely imo
Yeah basically no current athlete playing an impact sport had gotten that replacement surgery prior to Eichel
Doesn't even have to be as extreme as Eichel's case. But something that would cause a player to ask for a trade.
Oh oh oh
Ofc that can happen
Not when the prick is about to win a cup
I was thinking of a guy getting hurt and the team not agreeing with what the player’s personal physios think
Cardinale didn't like the fact that Maldini actually genuinely wanted Milan to make the next step in becoming a European elite. That means spending.
Cardinale wants another miracle like last season. Minimal spending while getting crazy results.
FUCK YOU GERRY CARDINALE.

Lmao sounds like FSG but if they sacked Klopp
crazy
Said it before and I'll say it again
cheap owners really
The only untouchable person at LFC is klopp
fosho
MAYBE Alisson
It’s crazy to me how FSG doesn’t go balls out w lfc
They're not the Red Sox so
You told me my boy was untouchable
I know the Red Sox have been slacking, obv Penguins have their issues but it’s not a money issue
Just looking at the Commanders. They found many ways through their terrible doctors, and front office for players and coaches to not want to be there. Now the Sabres owners aren't close to the terrible people as Dan Snyder is, but they have a person who doesn't know hockey running the hockey operations.
Then why are you saying he’d not untouchable
Our doctors aren’t terrible. They are conservative and made a mistake but they’re not being corrupted by the owner or whatever conspiracy people want to believe
Diaz is great but unlike Klopp he isn't top 3 in the world at what he does. That's also why I mention Alisson, for my money he's either the best in the world or second best
And even then I think Alisson would be "touchable"
What Klopp has done for LFC and frankly Liverpool as a city
Nobody can replace that
He’s top one in my heart
Keep in mind
Klopp wanted him, scouted him, pressed for his move
He's here because of Jürgen
Oh but I get for an outsider Diaz is just another player of the club
Cheap ass owners are the bane of sports fans
But for me he’s the Ray of hope of the whole country
Isles fan saying that lol. Maybe Tavares can come back in your dreams
That and the ones that meddle into day to day operations.
Panthers going down 0-2 and really gotta find a way to adjust to Vegas's counterattack.
Sweeps in the Finals are never fun unless all Ls are OT ones
au contraire
Excuse your french
Well done sab
Dang astros pummeled the jays today
As expected
Merci beaucoup (my French is very rudimentary)
Sab going to become a true Canadian
He used Google Translate
Sab using Google to find the most common French phrases
I am offended on my girlfriend's grandfather's behalf

Are you? I thought you hated the French and would prefer Québécois to be stratified from them
But okay, if you wish...
How does someone give up 6 runs in one third of an inning
Manoah is an absolute bum
Baseball is weird. Anything can happen in baseball
The Jays are just fine with taking automatic L's
Eh, as elitist as it is, there's a degree of validity to it. So it goes when you're a colonial power and spread your language while also offering shit education
Dialects be dialects
Okay but that’s some pathetic ass performance
I can't understand Pontic Greek for shit
Gave up 5 runs in the last 8 2/3 innings
Cypriot Greek, I can
Not bad
Manoah gave up more runs in 1/3 than the rest of the team
Baseball is a long season. Its all about how well a pitcher does in a month to month bases.
Well, most Jay pitchers are mid tier
I’d be happy if Manoah was mid
Gaus and Bassit are good
And not a dumpster fire
What do you mean by that?
Kikuchi is serviceable
I have high standards for pitchers since the Rays are masters of pitching. So even Gaus looks off for me sometimes
The cars that go around and fine businesses for not being french enough
🇬🇷 Standard Greek vs Pontic Greek (Romeyka) Part 2
🙁Pontic Greek (or Romeyka) is one of the most melodic Greek dialects. Unfortunately today, the language is endangered, with only a few thousand speakers remaining. Ιt is still spoken in pockets of the Pontus, mostly by Pontic Greeks in the eastern districts of Trabzon Province.
Losing dialects...
I.e
He literally is the AL strikeout leader
Or was a day or so ago
You know Phillies games are broadcast here. And OMG, they probably have some of the worst starting pitching/bullpen arms in the NL at least.
False, that would be me
Oh yeah those are wrong. But there’s a reason for that because foreigners come and don’t even try to talk the language. We just want a minimal effort
There’s no Canada like French Canada???
Holy shit vinny is Kevin Gausman
The best Canada there is
I would argue that, but then a ball hits a ump and that's a lost for the Tigers.
Bring back da expos
I do wanna visit during the warm months
Will be me*
Tigers flying me back home rn
I mean I get it but at the same time it feels awful and elitist and it is so different than the rest of Canada
Just too bad Gaus only has 4 wins so far.
The rangers I’m sure could use you @robust grotto
My hair is long enough. I'll be the long hair brother of Gaus
Walkin into Glen Sathers office in Banff like
It's so hilarious and Flamingos are a top 2 favorite animal for me
What’s 1
Think about it. We go to Toronto and ask for something in French and they will be confused. People come here and expect us to speak English when a big part of the population can’t. We don’t ask you to learn French just don’t come acting like people will all magically know English perfectly
I mean again. I get it.
But Quebec is part of Canada yet acts like it isn't at all
And fining businesses for signs not being French enough is asinine
Yeah I agree with that part
And Canada acts like we’re not part of it a lot of time. They signed the constitution without telling us
Tzortz
Bullshit
https://twitter.com/goldenknights/status/1665912469376888832?s=46&t=0dPhD14zL5uzVVpeHRQMfQ lol I missed this
Reverse Sweep in the Finals. Now that would be a storyline the NHL will never STFU about.
No 0-8 is better
Reverse finals sweep, game 6 in Florida… overtime and he who shall not be named buries it
Sab's reaction:
I would cheer
That’s not a foul?
He went with his fist on front
Damn
VGK won
who you got winning the finals croc
Which one
ucl
Australian huh
I don't really expect much from spurs so who knows, probably gets sacked near the end of the season
if they're doing really bad than maybe December lol but yeah not sure
don't got a clue who the guy is, apparently managed celtics but that doesn't mean anything to me
wonder why spurs signed him
just get poch back honestly
And they thought to sign him
Isn’t he at Chelsea?
Southampton
sucks they got relegated
Eric garcia got fans in Japan
he should stay there!
on a real bro might be the only eric fan in the world
fairs
You don’t want him back?
eric?
no
we played him in dm, cb and I think rb and he was consistently shit in all positions

I dont hate the guy but yeah I wouldn't keep him
we getting iñigo martinez
we good on CBs tbh
@hasty basin Hamulic got called up
