And they traded him because he’d cost them too much
Is Ja>Zion right?
Given the luxury tax
Well he is getting paid tbf
Considering ja can play games yes
Oh
Zion can’t even play that much
Zion doesn't know how to play basketball yet though, he learning
99 slashing ability carries
Ja is also playing at such a high level rn that idk if Zion even when he is on the court is much better
Dude has to get in shape
It's not that a rookie couldn't be tasked with turning the team around, it's the fact that he was 18 when he was drafted instead of someone like Shaq who was 20 and had a few more years in college to mentally be prepared and refine his game.
Yeah 18 is too young
20 PPG
Idk tbh I wouldn’t say a rookie should be expected to
I remember though
Everyone was like
If someone is gonna bust from this draft it's RJ
Everyone believed in Zion and Ja
Make an impact sure but like to turn a bad team around in one season idk
Like no player should be drafted and be expected to almost double the wins a team has in their first season
That's what happens when you are allowed 5 steps before dribbling
It's why the NBA was so shit for so long during the Warriors Cavs dominance. The one and done crap in college really hurt the product. And it's funny since they tried so hard to not allow kids coming out of high school to be drafted by a NBA team. like one year in college really changes much.
Very true
You need to build a team around them
Well
If you get an early pick anyway
Yeah for sure
Also why is Play-in a thing
Peak NBA was the Spurs basketball era
Ratings.
Relegation is looking at you
They say it’s to reduce tanking but it’s really for cash
Relegation?
Ironically they would stop long term tanking if they actually got rid of the often rigged lottery.
Does football even have a draft lol
Which
NBA is already stacked with talent, don't they have enough to create a second division so we can relegate mfers ?
Normal?
Yeah
MLS is wack
Fr
They also don’t have relegation
Like idk having relegation in a league with a draft doesn’t make much sense
Thankfully, we look to be done with the superteam crap now so more teams aren't fucked from the beginning.
Didn't Zidane got asked to coach there and bro simply said no and didn't elaborate ?
He is so hyped
Football is like anti american model of business, they can't fit enough ads during game cuz it doesnt stop enough for it to fit
Legit might be the most hyped prospect since lebron
6'10 muscular mfer that moves like a guard, illegal genetics
49ers better win a ring also
we will
I will never understand why people think the lottery was a good idea. If you got the number one pick, you aren't guaranteed the best player in that draft.
Yeah Gianni’s is insane
Also teams actually rank more lol
I thought Jokic was just gonna be a solid centre, like top 3 in the league at all times
Like without the lottery only the truly awful teams can have a. Shot at. Stop pick
if you get a first round pick you aint guaranteed the best player (jokic)
Overseas players REALLY be showing up
The nfl ironically works way better
Jokic Luka Giannis
NFL has a lot of tanking teams and is the still the number one sport in the US. What does that tell ya?
Yeah
Luka was bad for the Mavs cuz bro was way too good too early for them to get decent roster around him in the first 3 years
Nba is snooze fest
they got KP but he didn't mash well with Luka
What got me interested again is
He also got hurt too often
People saying this is the best season of all time
Oh it is really competitive
Yeah parity is up right now
The lottery hurt the expansion teams the most. Those expansion teams had no team to tank for. Why are they playing the same rules.
When an expansion team can’t even get the worst pick
I'm just impressed with LeBron James bro... a 38yo man shouldn't be able to play like he is
For sure you can’t even play games
Oh shit Giddey is with Shai?
Yeah lol
Yeah he’s good
Also Canadian
So the true Canadian hope
Sorry Wiggins
You ain’t maple Jordan
Heh
I heard
Wiggins got better at defense
Good for him
I hated him as a player
Shai when he gets a consistent step back 3 shot :
Yeah he’s really found his role in golden state
I honestly hear the phrase "good defender" and think to myself, players actually try to play defense these days?
Yeah they actually do
Timberwolves Wiggins >
Um
If there is no good defence
How is Marcus Smart still employed
Man you’d see the All-Star game every day if teams didn’t try to play defense
Or is he just a great scorer now
Rudy Gobert
At the all star game
Ah
Beat me to it

It's so far in between and even the best defenders these days don't even come close to the defenders of the past.
Watching him flopping so hard that he bruises and injures himself is entertaining enough for the fans
Idk man draymond is definitely. Not that far off
Peak kawhi was really good also
Like, you gotta admit that the defense has been bad in the league for a while now
It’s been bad but guys for sure try
Stacked roster lol
But yeah he’s a decent passer
Jaylen Brown and tatum
Could hit 3s more regularly though
Maybe, just maybe that is part the reason LeBron can play as good as he is now
Nah lebron is an all time great stop playing around
The NBA currently gives too much to attackers for the entertainment and the defenders are clowned on
At 38 sure maybe but like bron would still be amazing regardless
I used to have Jordan as the GOAT
But ngl
I'm 50/50 now with him and Lebron
Lebron is just so consistent
Usually when a mf takes 2 steps and gathers the defenders know they can close in, now they can just blow past them
People often forget MJ was playing pretty good in Washington before injury.
I didn't think it was possible
Like the technical fouls I see
Like wtf even happened
Some players are allowed to carry and travel each time they have the ball in their hands
Luka yelled Lets gooo at his teammate and got a tech
Iirc
And someone (I think Tatum) just clapped and said damn
And got a tech as well
You ain't allowed to hype up a teammate for doing a bad play anymore
The league has definitely gotten softer. Can't even look at an opposing player funny without getting a technical foul.
Lmao
The league has to just become Kawhi Leonard now huh
interesting
Dunks in 2040 (Try not to get a tech for disrespect)
The celtics got away with the most cringe foul ever on LeBron but i think that is just the Celtics being the Celtics anyway
Yeah nba soft
Home games with them do be like that
which is worse, the Kevin Durant "saving the ball" clearly out of bounds or Tatum trying to take LeBron's arm home ?
for me it's KD's one
Oh carrying and traveling has gotten so bad
Along with jumping into defenders
Was legit pathetic to see a guy flail into a defender and get a call
The attempts at pretending that they were gonna take a shot are getting ridiculous indeed
I don't see any good PGs in Clippers lol
The NBA is just as delusional as the NFL is when it comes to refs.
Only one Paul George indeed
Fr
Good old Westbrick and Pandemic P united again.
Oh he’s a recently drafted player lol
Hasn’t really made a name for himself yet
Was on the nuggets
I loved the Thunders when it was Russel Westbrick running 100mph+ into a Steve Adams screen, they legit trying to kill players with that
Chasing Russ back in the day was the most dangerous activity ever
For sure purely because of how strong he is
Steve Adams is the reason you call screens for your teammates lmao
I can get that
So that's why I don't really have a favourite team
In the NBA
But I have a favourite player
Don't blame ya
Yeah a lot of people like certain players and not teams
Being stuck as a Magic fan hasn't been a fun one for me.
He is probably not that much stronger in terms of raw strength compared to other players, he just has the right type of strength for basketball, good core and balance
Oof
Beyond the raptors being my home team idk if I’d root for a specific one
Yeah
Steve Adams knows how to use his strength really well
A guy who took shaq’s nickname says hi
Luka is also like that, he ain't chubby for no reason
Bruh if Jimmy is saying that
then it must be real
Jimmy is certainly tall as well
I dont acc remember his height
6'7?
If I Had to guess
Jimmy is about that life too
Bro has several dogs in him
Yeah he is 6 7
6'7 aint small i would say goddamn
Yeah
People would pay good money to see 3 hours of him ranting about the Knicks. lol
Lol
i just wonder if Skip Bayless will hate on LeBron his whole ass career
Still is
like legit the entire career
Height of nba players has been about the same for a while
You just gotta stick with it I guess
Bron about to retire ofc he’s still hating
Further than that people that are superhuman (can move really fast while being big) get injured too often, we fighting biology
I still remember Bayless trying to justify saying Tim Tebow was a better, overall star power than Kobe Bryant.
Cough Zion cough
Nah Zion is injury prone cuz College Ball destroys young talent
Tim Tebow
Am I stupid or
their bones are dust when they get to the NBA
I don't remember who that is
Yeah but he’s also super athletic and big
I used to be an NBA nerd aswell
Despite being 6 6
Watched so much KOT4Q
He’s about as heavy as a centre
My boy Kenny
i would move out of the way if bro is slashing to the rim 💀
Man yeah the quizzes were great
ohhhh the quizzes
Skip was comparing Tebow to Rodgers, Brady, and even Kobe???

In the 2016-17
2k really fallen off though
LeBron is also a freak, no one that is 6'9 should be that strong and that quick like he was
Clown bayless
His athleticism is just too great
Lebron was a basketball machine
ANd he transitioned his game
A former American Football player
To shooting as well
you can't put anyone other than a big on him (on heat days) and the bigs get completely played with
When he was in his prime dude could do everything pretty much
If he got his stride going he finished through your chest
like you werent even there
Also because he sucked at the pro level
Wasn’t a fan then but I did get to see bron cook the raptors in 2018
I tried getting into it but
The old goat
I guess it's just not for me
Can't follow every sport.
Yeah that’s fair
I'm folllowing the NBA, Premier League and La Liga in depth, i have no time in life to get in depth into another sport 😭
It’s slow
Yeah lol
Only nba nhl nfl
i think 3 is the limit then
i got my 3 slots all used up
Lol I also follow some motor sports
Premier league and la Liga are the only ones for me
Yeah, I have as much knowledge about footy and Premier League as Russ has NBA titles. 0
I guess I kinda follow Rugby
Tbh yeah if you are focusing on 3 that happen at the same time that’s probably the limit
I like all leagues ngl
In terms of paying attention
The top 5 ones
Football is just really fun for me in general so
More games I see the more I like it
Oh it’s fun but idk I haven’t gotten into watching it
- American Football is kinda complex so i realized i can't half ass it and try to enjoy it
So many teams and leagues lol
With Ligue 1 it may seem like a trash league to some people
Football probably is the hardest sport for someone new to get into
There’s way too much
But Will Still's story is just amazing
Yeah idk where to start
And Balogun
He is so cool
American rugby is an interesting sport
On paper great team
It takes a while to understand the strategy in it indeed
I have never watched it
Hockey is my go to sport. I just see footy as a much slower version of that to me.
Tbh I barely have any idea on nfl strategy
Well i'm brazilian so i got the benefit of knowing it since early so the hassle was never there lmao
Not even strategy, there’s so many teams and players
Yes
At last the nba is one league
Yeah hockey is the best
And theres'
Can’t beat seeing hockey live
And then international games
Like England's Championship
Yeah with relegation
I still believe in Paul Pogba 😭
And the many many cups
So like so much to get to even pay attention at all
He can turn it around
Haller came back from cancer before Pogba and his injury
Fr
Paul Pogba OWARI DA
The one good thing is games are usually once a week so it’s not jam packed like the nba or nhl
And there's personal things too, I couldn't imagine myself watching games early in the morning.
It's kinda crazy
i try explaining the different leagues and different tiers to my friends who arent into it and its like im speaking Babylonian
Yeah same it’d be hard once I start uni again
NBA schedule is way too hectic
Back to backs shouldn’t happen imo
then you present them the Champions and they die
I dont even think UCl is the big issue
This is probably their BEST midfield
its the tiers of competition
Idk if I want to watch f1 that early in the morning
Oh are you ready for a Ferrari masterclass
too many leagues and clubs
- too many tournaments
Looking clean
no :) i already have enough sports pain :)
March 2nd the circus starts again
happening at the same time
Think I could name over 1000 footballers
Don’t even think I know 1000 people
hope Mercedes is good this time
And went back into injury
Yeah they should be
Yeah lol
I already have a hard time watching the NBA consistently. Definitely a point that I can't watch every sport.
But it would take some time for me
they looked better at the end of the szn
Yeh could beat Ferrari this season
I'd probably get stuck when
I loooove seeing Pogba trying to dribble out of the press inside his own box and into the direction of his own goal 💀
I run out of the top 5 leagues teams
Max and rb too op
Yeah, NASCAR is where it's at for me.
Way moree
like currently playin?
I probably could name 100 players from arsenal easy then probably over 70 from all the big clubs then just random players after that
NASCAR is so fun
Yeh
Yeah I think I could
Just wish fox had good coverage
All time would be even easier
Neymar also used to to the same in PSG, bro doesn't want to pass and needs to lose the ball to the press in the worst position possible
And not the trash the Daytona 500 is
yeah all time would be easy
Yes
Just wish we didn't have segmented fucking races.
Stages suck ass
20 teams in the prem that’s already like 200 from just the starting xi
Racing is one of the sports with the most drama and dirt on it
That’s the one reason I can’t stand watching nadcsr
I think driving brings the worst in humans
It stops and goes
Oh yeah I’m glad I don’t drive anymore
That and sun getting into my eyes
One of these years it will be good, but thank god Brian France is gone.
Asphalt burning your retinas feels so nice wdym

Sad Kurt Busch got hurt
When you start getting desperate so you just say dembele to tick off like 30 players
That was my stepfather's driver too
I wonder what the most common player name is
He's a MTJ fan now
Lmao
Oh mtj about to retire also
i watched Formula 1 with my dad the year Max won cuz i like seeing the "villain" winning in sports
Arsenal have a Matt Smith
Super max
There's so many players in
Emile SMITH rowe
Lower england divisions
He won this year also
But it was a landslide
Sounds like an ai generated player
Arsenal is crazy right now, they have a young roster that is all developing into amazing players, they ain't number 1 for nothing
Bournemouth had so many guys who just had default names
Martinelli got so much better at finishing
I'm a Kyle Busch fan but I do have to consider the future. Hmm... Byron? Elliott? Well, I bet another good driver will be around by then.
Lewis Cook
Also an NPC
Larson?
Say Touré and you’re already half way to 1000
Jack Stephens ngl
Nah.
Could count as an NPC
Selecarsenal for a reason
Dembélé
Idk who I’d pick tbh
At some point there were like 3 Mousa/Moussa Dembélé around
Was also a Kyle Busch fan heard ago
Mbappenalty
Years
Mendy another popular name
Pretty much gonna be fan of his till he's not competing in the cup anymore.
Croacia has to have some law where you have to finis the name with "cic" at the end
Vida
Martínez
There was an Argentine squad in a WCQ match that had four Martínez, and three of them were L. Martínez
He could Buschwack until he is 50
south korea made entirely of Kims
korea had the same thing
I was a Tony Stewart fan before Kyle. I love my big mouth drivers.
Isnt it Iceland who has
Just a lot of sons
In names
I think their whole lineup was just
Just use any name that associates with Brazil
Yeah it’s like Son of
Cant believe I missed todays cl game
Somethingson
Son of something
Vida, Gvardiol, Vrsaljko, in the past Boban, Suker
some of them guys have like 12 names in one
I remember someone having 5 names
I cant remember anyof them
Funnily enough
Lol
Cordeiro, Ferreira, Silva, Oliveira, Santos
Livaja when
Costa
(The GOAT)
Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink still the hardest name OAT
Iceland still uses patronyms -meaning, if your name is Crocoboy, your sons' surname will be Crocoboysson, and your daughters' something like Crocoboydottir
You can also notice how dottir is similar to daughter, revealing the language roots
Yeah
He’s got a son playing now called Lukas Vennegoor of Hesselink
I can retain only so many
Livaja is just the first person that comes to my mind
Because my friend hypes the shit out of him
(Hes croatian)
Vida because the only time I ever see him it’s at the World Cup
Him and Pepe at the back
there's a whole brand of footballers that only show for their national teams haha
Ochoa
Edu Vargas
QPR legend
I watched Edu Vargas score a hattrick on his Napoli debut iirc
he should have stayed in Valencia, that loan was the one good half season he had in Europe but Valencia couldn't/didn't want to pay
And now they’re getting relegated
Throwback to Melo being introduced at MSG.
Chills.
conversely he hasn't performed for country in ages
which is why everyone was so hype about finding out Brereton Díaz
they're getting relegated
Yeah that's why lol
tears valencia fell off
And... it all went downhill from there
Hasn’t the owner banned fans from taking videos inside the stadium
He's so good
Fans are protesting by not showing up
i think so lol
peter lim is a terrible owner

Even in the last game lol
Made some great saves
But for what
Good times
Aston Villa also not doing so hot rn
Good
I would love for Villa to be worse 🙂
Don’t worry they will
When relegated martinez wins golden glove
commie in goal tonight. Toronto are done for

Oh fuck off the Facebook didn’t say ukko pekka was playing
Congratulations on your win @rustic mountain @celest zephyr
They have ovi who’s one of the goats
Are we getting destroyed?
What is Donnie doing
He knows this game was the most important of the season
This was make it or break it
And he puts that toddler in goal
Get a steam deck
I like Ryan OReilly
Why not we don’t need old man Tavares
could we actually?
Did he celebrate?
Like he’s better but also he costs a lot more
I love Ryan OReilly man. I did when he was Blue so it would be sick
Ducks
I had heard about Donnie meatballs but didn’t think it was true
Now I get it
Did we bring Craig on or is Google confused?
SO NICE HE DID IT TWICE! 😮💨
You know, a lot of what happens is on UPL, but what was he suppose to do here? Defense has to step up.
Not jump out of the way
How about you don’t leave the slot so wide open like that that he has to guess
O’Reilly literally could’ve read the recent OP chapter with how much time he had alone there.
That’s a hypothetical.
I know this is a bad time to mention this, Buffalo. But… you’re facing Tampa next
Hopefully we play Craig or commie
You’re the only option left now that tampa is off
Craig can only extinguish some of the dumpster fire that is your defense.
And if they’re unavailable, is it bad to ask to play on 6v5 with an open net all game?
Craig has done it in the past and will do it again, commie maybe not that good but he can save occasionally
ROR SZN ?? @celest zephyr
The @TBLightning currently have a 21-0 shots on goal advantage this period 🤯
Not so much this year. But they aren’t shit either. They really need to start finding fresh talent though
They're just a legacy act at this point.
Pretty much both the Pens and Caps are just milking their aging stars until they're gone.
While the QB carousel this off-season figures to be the talk for about 4 or 5 teams, it appears like the Buccaneers want to roll with Kyle Trask and possibly bring in a low-cost veteran like Drew Lock.
293
Hahahaha rip
@rustic ore
Riding the old warhorse until he can’t walk anymore
Heard about it. Whatever happens in 2023 really doesn't matter to the Bucs unless they overachieve with whoever at QB
Which is smart
We’ve given up
I would love Trask to suddenly become the next Mahomes. But considering BA compared him to Brad Johnson when he was first drafted and the fact that he couldn't even beat Gabbert in his 3rd year. I think it's likely he isn't the guy.
Adams has confirmed he’s not looking at anyone at the moment, we’re not even going to try to push for something
I'm assuming he still wants to develop guys within.
Yeah
I guess
Also they aren’t good enough to need to make a move
Just the wait has been too much
We’re on our way to a 20 year drought if we just develop within eternally
They're still in the WC race and all but besides everyone realizing the Sabres are in the playoffs, it probably wouldn't be right long term. I'd rather have a chance of the lottery than be blown up in the first round by the Bruins.
We’re a few points away from the series, we should at least try, but seeing what we’re starting in goal and not doing any trades, not even signing Levi, I don’t know how we make a step up. We’ll forever be stuck in this position
You say that but any sabres fans would take 4 games defeat by the bruins over another year of misery
Right now, yeah, but we're talking years from now.
The Devils made the playoffs not too long ago and got destroyed by the Lightning and only now they're getting back into the the playoffs.
Same young team the Sabres are now.
Mate it’s been years, over a decade. I don’t care if we lose to Canadians in 4 games and lose all our games 20-0, I’d still take a playoff game. Jeff hasn’t got much time left, he’s the player with the most games in the nhl without playing the playoffs. It’s humiliating. I don’t care if we ruin our rebuild, we should push. Because if we don’t we’ll just continue to be the mockery of the nhl
We’re barely competitive
Again, these are feelings now. Once those feelings are gone, what left?
I don’t care
Really
I just want to get a little win in life
We know we’re not winning a Stanley cup, we can at least try to have a chance to get there
Is one playoff in my lifetime too much to ask
Believe what you want believe. But I'm someone who likes to think about the long game. You can make the playoffs and feel happy about it, But eventually, you remember the difference between a first rate and a third rate organization is a first rate one thrives to win championships, not just make the playoffs and get a few extra money from playoff revenue.
Second rate is probably like the leafs
They aren’t in it just for rings but they also want to make a run
Up until the last decade, they were third rate. Bunch of terrible trades, signings, hires, etc.
I could just say Tuukka Rask and be done with summing up the Leafs in the 2000s
Oh I know
They were good in the 90s had one fluke run against Boston one year and then tanked until they made the playoffs
Sad part is the Leafs weren't even the worst team then. The Oilers used to be my punching bag around that time before McDavid.
We’re not even fourth rate team
Sure I would love to build a team that goes far, a first rate team, but I’d settle to be anywhere near. We all know Terry will fuck up at some point, we need to act fast before it’s too late. Craig doesn’t have much left, we’ll be losing our captain maybe as close as this summer, sure the young guys will stay but without the experience there they’ll just be kids in a men’s game
5 goals on 21 shots. Clearly a fun time in western NY rn
Well Craig has stopped 11 on 12. It’s that other moron that spoiled the game
6-0 Bolts.

And Perry got that one. Oh, that has to sting for Duck fans
If you gave up 7 goals multiple times in a month, then probably should be.
We’re not that low
Like, the Ducks know they're trying to get the first pick. Allow all the 7 goal games.
You really shouldn't be trying to get the first pick anyways, you've already got it multiple times as it is
My bet is on Arizona finally getting the 1st pick. And then accuse Bettman of rigging it to better his chances of the Yotes staying in Arizona.
But I need the yotes to fail
For the nordiques
Quebec isn't getting them back.
Dream big
First rate mentality
Forgetting the but also be realistic part.
Do you want me to be realistic or not?
It's been made very clear by those involved in negotiations, the New York Giants are planning for Daniel Jones to be their QB. He is their priority. They are working on a long-term deal. Then they will figure out Saquon. The clock is ticking though...
426
This’ll be…. Something
If that’s what Schoen and Dabs decide then please for the love of it all get him a good Oline
Get rid of Bark
If Jones get's anywhere near 40 mil. Yikes.
I'm at the perspective of even if we want to say he needs a better OL, he would play better with better receivers, I think there's no clear evidence he'd play any better under those circumstances. I think the question becomes, can this dude win a SB? Can he take them there. At this point, it's not about the extension itself, it's the price. Jameis wanted 30 mil when he was still on the Bucs and we laughed at him. But this dude, who's shown mid numbers throwing the ball and bare minimum with his feet want over 40 mil.
If I were the Giants rn, I'd either franchise tag him (which will make things awkward for sure) or offer less money to him. And that can't happen, I'd walk away. It's one thing if he showed he can consistent for a few years. But one year where he does his job not fucking up and suddenly thinks he's hot shit.
That just says regression written all over it.
Final from @amaliearena #GoBolts improve to 14-0-1 in last 15 home games with a 6-1 victory against Anaheim, shots finished 44-25 (pending any more changes) #TBLightning
I’ll take it
Well the bright side is regardless of their long term plans they’re tagging him
Everything points to that
This means the question gets delayed a season
“Can he win a SB”
Lmfao
What’s funny?
Knew McMillan would get fired
The fact that you’re Canadian and said congratulations buddy just reminds me of that South Park scene so much

Lmao I’m sorry
Devils really lost to the Habs.
What a sad day
Wins a win. Woulda liked cleaner D, but good showing
I see what ya did there
Now get your hands in the royal pudding
As is tradition
Really are on a South Park rampage today, aren't ya.
South Park Canada episodes are top tier
there's no Canada like French Canada, it's the best Canada in the land
of course french canada is the best
wait there's yukon canada
but we can be second
you were playing about the most offensive (and shittiest at the back) team in the league. 3 ain't bad
Always can be cleaner but a win is a win
I love it man. The best episodes
Score 6 goals you usually have a chance of winning.
VIVE BLOC QUÉBÉCOIS
not when you're buffalo
no politics here
Well of course, when your defense is shit and goaltending isn't on par it's more difficult.
so is anyone interested in ukko pekka luukonen. we'll give him for free, we can still pay his salary and give you a box of donuts with the deal
it's a young defense, we just need to ship out bryson, get some experience and we'll be on the good track
That's the only benefit, they're young. Probably could help getting more grit for the bottom 6 though.
Kaw is Law
#49ers QB Brock Purdy today visited Dr. Keith Meister, who recommended postponing surgery because of ongoing inflammation in Purdy’s elbow, per sources.
They’ll reconvene in early March. All signs continue to point a UCL repair that would have Purdy ready for the 2023 season.
Now Lance is on the table for one team depending on the price.
Still doubt he’s traded
Who knows?
we're young but the few old guys are on their last moments
craig and okpokun aren't going to last forever
You can always get more through free agency.
but not on this level
With people like Dahlin and Tage, players will want to go there.
of course, but we need to go for them
lol is MLS changing their playoff format
18 teams out of 29 what
Percent of teams that make the playoffs...
⚾ MLB: 40% (12/30)
🏈 NFL: 44% (14/32)
🏒 NHL: 50% (16/32)
⚽ MLS: 62% (18/29)
🏀 NBA: 66% (20/30)
it was honestly fine before
NEW: #MLS has finalized its new playoff format with the 2023 season just five days away.
- "Wild card" game for 8/9 single-elim
- Best-of-3 for "first" round, no draws
- Last 3 rounds single-elim

best of 3 series oh
oh just for the first round
dfkm
I was honestly starting to like the one and done games, it was 14/29 teams that qualified for the plqyoffs
great.
well I guess the single elimination games are still there for the final rounds
I think 50% is perfect, less it's too harsh, more and you have average making it
Lol yo all of this is wild ..
I think the playoff system is great, I love that mls embraces it. That’s a lot to take in though. A best of three just for one round? Why not just do two legs and be done with it if you want more games that bad. It’s awkward to have a playoff system with this many teams. Has to be pure knockout football imo
A lot of people didn't like it when the NFL added the 7th seed in the playoffs. But this just seems like madness.
Truth, every sport really
Though fingers crossed that hockey stays traditional on that
Also I just saw KC is hosting the draft looooool
You just know other owners are salty
yeah they could always bring back the 2 legged format like the UCL and have a single elimination game in the final
it used to be like that
SB party and a draft not too long after. A lot of business in KC man
True I remember that
This is coming from an outsider, but is the MLS even really that popular to justify the added playoff spots?
RBNY had a close one w Atlanta back when Atlanta just came in and we’re a powerhouse
Not really, and it’s awkward bc there’s so many teams and when it comes to the sport side there’s no major consequences for being bad
And there’s no real reward either
Where in the other major sports you’ll have a chance of hitting that number one pick and that number one pick being something. In MLS you can win a lotto but your draft pool isn’t anywhere near as big
Plus teams already have academies so they have players from early teen years
I can only guess with this, but is the MLS kinda... second rate?
Everything is awkward, hard to explain
But yeah it’s hard to say it isn’t second rate
MLS is still expanding
iirc a few more teams will join
it'll probably be 30 soon I guess
so does one division have one team less?

I do also
so harder for the right?
what city got a new team?
I guess
so it's a dead end for quebec
hockey is so big here
i hate how Virginia has no sports teams lol
tho I don't live that far off from DC, so I guess it ain't a problem
what's in virginia?
nothing
Just silly at this point
800 and 700
My goodness
Vegas first then Seattle
yeah good call lmao
Look who’s my #1
as I was saying we have surprisingly a lot of famous athletes
like I could probably name a famous athlete for almost any sport
Yeah you have a couple of stars. Good on you
You have two of the best keepers in football
That’s incredible
I barely follow football so I don't really know
we had a lot of top notch skiers
basketball players
climbers
Oblak and handanovic would start for most countries in the world
nice
Nice
Well currently it's pretty much undisputed who the best competitive climber is and that would be Janja Garnbret
she just wins everything
Wait you do climbing right?
yeah
I've climbed with her bf a couple times haha
That’s amazing
yep
My cousin was a climber, he reached the Canadian games
oh that's awesome
I think the biggest athlete in my family is my cousin that was panamerican bmx champion in the 90s
that's also very cool
But I haven’t met any pro athletes outside of family members
It’s very nice that you’ve climbed with a world #1
oh no I haven't climber with her, I said I climber with her best friend hahaha
However, there is one climbing gym she mostly trains at and she has her own bean bag and I sat in it once
so that's cool
Oh with her best friend
It's got her name engraved in it and everything. There's one of her trainer as well lmao
Well still pretty cool
That’s so cool
I used to play football at the park with Didier Drogba’s nephew if you know who that is
liverpool lmaoooo
When he came to Montreal some relative of his came with their son and he played footy at the park with me. Never met the guy though
Yikes
Bro was given four chances at this sport and was so bad he was benched in each one
