||SHEESH that was quite the ending! Knew Blondie wouldn't do Tuco dirty like that Great movie, each of the 3 personified their traits very well. Blondie (the good) plays an anti-hero like role as a "noble" outlaw. He has good traits but is not a typical good guy (i.e, a hero). Kinda reminds me of Zoro when he was a bounty hunter. Angel eyes (the bad) is a stone cold killer, shows no mercy and kills unnecessarily (killing the family despite getting the money at the start, torturing the prisoners etc). Dude is definitely like Lucci. Glad he got done away with in the end. And that brings us to our main man Tuco (the ugly). Easily my fav character in the film. He is a sneaky, backstabbing rat who will resort to the vilest of trickeries to get his way. Lies, deceit, it all comes easy to him (hence, ugly). But, the dude does have SOME humanity unlike AE (the scene with his brother at the infirmary gives us some background about his motivations). He is not the most charming of thugs, nor is he the most cunning; he gets beat up, punished and humiliated several times. But he hangs in there, and is able to go toe to toe with the other 2 eventually. I liked his and blondie's partnership develop over the course of the movie. He is definitely an Apoo, or even Buggy.||

Goosebumps first book || man that was something. I can see the difference of how he started out for writing horror for children to what he achieved later in his books. While without much creepy stuffs, he really couldn't seem to control how much needed to be conveyed to children of the target age. Can feel that I would have been a bit more horrified (emphasis on the "a bit") if I had read this at the age I used to read Goosebumps as a kid. good bad ugly || Tuco stole the show for me too. I love the persistent cockroach characters, the character no one really roots for and keeps on surviving. The op connections you made are very accurate actually, I saw this movie before I started op so I never really saw the similarities until now.
The thing I love about this movie is that it feels like a little show condensed into a movie. Like you could almost segment each part as it’s own episode almost and it doesn’t fuck up the story progression or make it feel weird. That last third half or so is my favorite part, from them kinda just waltzing through the base in the middle of battle kinda cracks me up that alcoholic soldier guy was really great too. And da final scene 😳 the stand off was so good. Was it like 10 minutes of them just looking at each other? Yes. Was I clenching my buttcheeks in anticipation the entire time? Absolutely. Man I know everyone talks about how good the soundtrack is but...it’s really fucking good dawg idk what to say, I listened to ecstasy of gold for months. Man, who would have thought soundtracks elevate movies! Anyways yeah glad you liked it seltz||

Just finished rereading Dark Matter. Such a great book. I am again overwhelmed

Breaking Bad ending, El Camino ||I felt it was ok, it gave a neat narrative regarding Jesse after the events of BB but somewhat/kinda unnecessary.
