Ozark S4 E7 ||Omg brilliant episode. 10/10 would be an understatement. About a dozen plot-twists all over the episode. Darlene finally lost her plot-armour. Karma gave her a death exactly like she murdered other people in the middle of their convos. I feel sorry for Wyatt. Just another victim of the Byrdes. Ruth can't seem to catch a break. Series started with 6 langmores. It's now down to 2. Lost her boyfriend as well. Brilliant acting from Jason Bateman and Julia. Love the way Jason makes Marty Byrde come to life. Impeccable acting skills. Julia as well rounded off the series with some ball-busting threats. A very satisfying cliffhanger to cap off part 1. Hyped for Part2. Still hoping for a Byrde death.||

But yeah few words about Taxi Driver

|| I mean where to start? The whole movie is accompanied with superlative meaningful visuals, flawless character development, thrusting plot development, and arm-twisting mirroring of characters and themes.

Each visuals felt like they were trying to tell what the main character is feeling or thinking. The director used each and every components that you can find in New York to represent a mood or a type of scene. We're left with the loneliest soft-spoken man in the world, in the middle of the colorful world of New York and its tumult. As his secret admiration said, he's quite an unique fellow. And yet, the the directing elements and everything around him seemed like a reflection of his own mind. The characters that he meets are displayed in such a way that you'd automatically know who they are and what they're looking for. It's almost as if the world around him was weirder than him.

The main character is developed in a clear and simple yet original way. Each segments of the movie serve for his development and don't feel forced at all. Each segment are meant to let us know more about his motives and ambitions. We know nothing about him yet we know about everything about him, if that makes any sense.

The MC is involved into a love, cabbie, political, violent, intra-personal, and savior life. Each of these components felt interesting as they all rise in tension. They were all linked together by the anxious and caring mind of the MC.

The characters around the MC seemed like images reflecting the MC himself. He had to get his mind straight and he does it by clearing off the streets those who he despised. Throughout the whole film we go through the crazy stuff that a cad druver can go through. The MC was at the same time victim of the filth and gate for evil. His natural kindness and worry dragged him out of that vileness.

None of what I’m saying is new but some of the things that make s8 just a dumpster fire. If GoT went on for at least 2 more seasons it could’ve been good. Give time to develop some of the plot threads rather than doing the equivalent of 3 seasons in what, 6 episodes? ||

Honestly, what I think is the disadvantage with long form stories is how you wanna pace your resolution

I don't think many people grasp that, either they go for extending it beyond what the scope of the series demands or they go before it reaches that right crescendo

I do think George as well wrote himself into a corner so that he has to come up with increasingly complex plots to actually satisfy fan expectations

||From the end of Season 6, they’re in a good place to end the series. Dany is in Westeros, Jon is King in the North, Cersei is queen of Westeros, all the major players are where they need to be. Got s8 || let’s keep s7 as is because I don’t feel like going through that can of worms- s8 is the equivalent of 3 seasons worth of content packed into one. the night king could be it’s own dedicated season. It’s the big baddie since the first scene that gets resolved in basically 3 episodes. Normally, it would take an entire season before getting some big fight, this time it just happens almost instantly. Give it time to develop these characters within the confine of this event which they were doing, and build up for the eventual next two events such as taking down cersei and Danny becoming the mad queen ||

Another thing I really disliked is just the whole "string theory" thing being a factor whatsoever, as if this so called MCU "string theory" has any bearing on actual string theory or its properties. I guess it's typical pop-science drivel but using the established name to legitimize a concept is basically just... handwaving the occurrence of the villains arriving without an actual cause. So yeah, I didn't really like it I guess, Willem was good though. ||

WoK chapter 2 || really nice juxtaposition of themes here. I saw you guys talking any how great kaladin is some time back and I assumed he was just the likeable super strong anime character so seeing the story immediately shift to a completely different tone with him being the center of some more complex characterization really impressed me ||

|| really enjoyed suddenly finding out how relatable of a character he is after getting a completely different portrayal of him from the pov of a character that would obviously see him that way. Really solid stuff and really tragic ||

|| and I felt like I would've liked that dallet character a lot too. Sadge ||

I wanna keep reading but the sun's gonna come up soon and I gotta sleep sometime unfortunately
