||idk about one note considering she played an entirely diffferent character before she revealed herself
and i also enjoyed that character as well. The sitcom stuff ig will hit more if ur someone thats watched a bit of them. Adding in the magic just added to the spectacle. I will also admit the last episode wasnt too great. Excited for monica rambeau tho|| WV
Saw it
Didnt like it
But ive seen it get mixed reviews
More people like it than i thought
Ik people that are big fans
The best part is the characters
It introduces some fun new ones
I was following the production process, was made without care of even desire
Yea it kinda blows my mind because i feel like we watched two different movies. And yea i loved the new additions but they werent enough to make up for how boring the movie felt for me
Only Scarlet here loves Black Widow the movie
It make me sad
Good for them
Villain was kinda garbage and i didnt like black widow to begin with lol
Skiped because of that, the script wasn't even completed but almost at the end of the filming
What
wtf
Goddamit
Bruh
my dumbass mind
šš
I dont see a source here
ive heard alot of people say it so i think its credible
Hmmmm
That could be said for a lot of things
Until thereās an official source, its fake
Black Widow ||they couldn't allow themselves a movie that didnt had conection with future events, so they either dont make a movie about a dead character or introduce a new one, so they wrapped all fast||
This shit makes me so happy man.. only Calvin and Hobbes
Bw talk š
||yelena is so funny ong šš|| black widow
||honestly forget tom holland and spiderman are owned by sony so i think it'd be smart to have tom be mcu spiderman and andrew be sony spiderman for good. also works with the plot of nwh plus the end credit with venom. andrew was great that second movie however not so cash money but i want him back|| NWH
true
3 more collections remaining, will finish this once my exam is done
if i hit it big one day imma buy all the calvin and hobbes books
i used to have a couple
have 2 now
||her awkwardness is everything || black widow
The big paperback collections are not that expensive

There are 2 big collections, one is the paperback edition and the other is the hardcover beast of a collector's edition
Both of them are relatively cheap for what they have in them
Nwh || love how green Goblin just a menace to spidermans for no fucking reasonšš||
||one of my fav villians in the spiderverse||nwh
Amazing spiderman 2 ||almost forgot that Goblin also existed. Even that one traumatized Peter for life||
Thatās mean :(
I liked nwh
Andrew garfield is best spiderman
true
BW is dope lolā¦. Scarlet Js fighting choreograph has always been on my favorites
BW failed to deliver due to the scope of the things the before avengers movie and shows covered
Imho
Action delivered and there were some emotional moments too but || the antagonist was pretty underwhelmning really soon and it just didn't hit after all we had witnessed in MCU. If the movie was just after Civil war, I wwould have enjoyed it a lot more I am sure || black widow/civil war
But i dont remember ever feeling satisfied or wowed in the same way i did for winter soldier or shang chi
Toby is the best peter tho
Specifically on the fight choreography
the timing of the movie flopped but the movie was p fun
Hot take
TRUE
Catwoman's last appearance for 12 years, thanks Comics Code
:despair:
How do you select what to read?
Oh no, this is how I search which DC stuff I pick
I have one for Marvel and one in general for other stuff
That 3rd one is the messier one for sure
That's crazy
Ah ic
Probably
Or it's mostly forgotten
I like to read by character then make my way to events
And also recommendations from people for non-DC/Marvel stuff
I literally have no idea,i read only a few issues of old comics in my life
There's a lot of sci-fi/horror/romance/western/comedic stuff I have skipped
When it comes to DC/Marvel I mostly stick with cape shit lol
This is for searching, then I have this other one for the reading order, which is by release date (again, I do not read most of the series in this list, just the super-hero stuff lol)
Long ass links cause a lot of specifications in the search query
These long links
Respect the dedication
Basically this

Marvel is a little more of a bitch. For some reason, starting in 1969 most issues dont have an exact release date, so I will have to go with cover dates from that point on
U reading everything from marvel and dc?
True, they started in the 1980s and 1990s tho lol
I'm even gonna read some underground comix in the 1960s-1980s
Hmmm fair enough
Also if you just want the publication date for one title in particular
You click on "Details by Issue"
And you get this lol

It took me a while to really get a hold of what this site can offer
Is pretty amazing
The page itself, as an example https://www.comics.org/series/141/
gonna watch it tonight i think
it wasn't bad
they just lean really had into their hispanic roots but like
as a mexican, I did not once think they were not white

i heard they had 0 colombian writers lol
yeah they kinda just borrowed the aesthetic, didnt really feel authentic
but the story was not bad
hm i see
well imma check it out tonight
need something to offset hannibal a bit
been watching dexter, hannibal, and ragnarok so i need something light
I couldnāt get through s1 of ragnorak
it's hard
the tones and the acting from some characters are bad
i only kept going bc scenery and the mc isn't bad
plus i like mythology and it's a neat twist
but a lot of the tones are mad off
I tried to watch Encanto but I lost interest after a few minutes
I like Ragnarok tho
i'll give input when i watch tonight but to me it seems like disney was like wait minority related movies make money?? let's make em all minority related
to the point they lose what's important
also how much you seen meu
i'm maybe on s2 ep 6? ider i gotta check tonight
I watched the first season while I had Netflix but I'm rewatching it now on somewhere else
if not for that damn scenery id be gone
he's so back and forth it gets annoying
he's a dick at first then gets better then keeps acting a fool
Yee
Some of the background characters are annoying
i actually like magne a lot
not usually into the mc esp the nerdy dorks
but he's cool
That old lady is interesting so far and I like the Jutuls
Ragnarok ||Magne got hit by a friggin snowplow||
This but they forgot to advertise the movie lol
The food looks amazing
Oathbringer part 3 ||Got chills reading this. Love the Dalinar flashbacks so much. The difference between warmonger Dalinar and present day Dalinar is so cool to see||
Spider-Man : Into The Spider-Verse
Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man : No Way Home
Spider-Man Homecoming
Spider-Man
Spider-Man : Far From Home
TASM
Spider-Man 3
TASM2
spiderverse is goated
i have the amazing spider man as number one i know it's highly viewed as horrible but imo it's pretty good
makes me want a 3rd
TASM1 is good, TASM2 is god awful
Spider-Man 2 š
Doesn't make Andrew a bad Spidey tho
but yeah would be nice to see TASM3, Oscorp really were building something
first was good second i couldn't finish
First one is pretty nice to see, the second has an amazing Soundtrack and that's about it
for tasm there isn't a trilogy
but due to the success of no way home fans want andrew to do a conclusion to the series
yet
Morbius movie will let us know if there's potential for TASM3. Since trailer two showed the Oscorp tower

Oscorp doesn't exist in MCU so there's a chance Morbius is set in TASM universe
hyped for morbius but i cant stand jared leto
I'm only really watching it to see which universe its set in, and how he meets the Vulture from Spider-Man Homecoming
there's also the poster of Tobey's Spider-Man on the wall for some reason
plus most movies releasing in january aren't very well....garnered at all
its like known as the month of shitty movies that no one wants to see but morbius i hope does well
"It was originally set for release on July 10, 2020, before moving three weeks later to July 31, 2020. The film was then delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, firstly to March 19, 2021, then to October 8, 2021, and to January 21, 2022, before moving to the January 28 date." - Wiki
i know
i'm just saying usually when a movie releases in january it doesnt do well
hope im wrong
The Glass a good example
key word most are mediocre or bad. there are some good films that can release in january. loved glass
Not interested in anything Marvel, but I loved Ghostbusters Afterlife
Ragnarok season 1 episode 3|| the ending scene of Magne seeing himself as Thor was awesome||
The Original two Ghostbusters and Afterlife are awesome
he just has such a pretentious vibe about him when he's acting
seems like a big pick me mf
^ in regards to jared leto
Yee
Shit is getting real in Ragnarok
Daredevil man without fear 3 ||
||
Spider-man Homecoming || ned made a true sacrifice with that save
||
Should I rewatch infinity war @dim hedge
you should rewatch the second best mcu movie
Finally get to see nwh in 3 hours

So excited
Did have a lot of big plot stuff spoiled though
What's the first best Buri
Ragnarok
Infinity war || fuck infinity war for for getting rid of the eye patch and i really wouldāve liked to see at least one more movie with weaponless thor fighting and being badass
||
Ragnarok || https://youtu.be/-mHaq88BAV4 ||
THOR: RAGNAROK (2017) Movie Clip - God of Thunder | Marvel Studios HD
PLOT: Imprisoned, the mighty Thor finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilization.
CAST: Chris Hemswo...
||
god i love this movie ||
Ragnarok/infinity war || thor: without my hammer, I can't.."
Odin: "You aren't Thor, the god of hammers"
Thor uses lightning in baddass way
Again thor in infinity war: I need a new hammer ||

Immigrant playing on background

good opinion haver
Wrong opinion haver 2
It is not
Incorrect
Might as well just say Iron Man 2
Nah I honestly like Iron Man 2 as it was the first MCU movie knowing about the movie order and all
So yeah Nostalgia
Incredible Hulk
š š
Oh that was the name lol
^^
I think no way home
Gonna start season 2 of the witcher now
Recency bias go crazy
Considerinf its the first movie ive gone to see twice in theatres witha few days in between
And am probably gonna see again
U might be right
Made me wanna go watch all the spiderman movies and into the spiderverse again
U crazy
The Matrix Resurrections || https://mobile.twitter.com/LeFrenchAccent/status/1475794505588785155 ||

Idid that before the movie
Homecoming || peter calling for help
||
Finished the homecoming rewatch
Great movie think itās my 2nd favourite spider-man movie (though seeing nwh in less than an hour so that might change)
Spider-man homecoming || loved all the scenes with peter in school, also really liked him just helping around random citizens, vulture was a great villain and his interactions with pete were great and the scene where pete escapes the collapsed building
and man i love ned||
It was my 2nd too, under itsv before i saw nwh
Homecoming is so great
My current top 3 spidey movies right now are
1: spider verse
2: homecoming
3: spider-man 2
Not surprising
Watched that new matrix. Unironically thought it was pretty good
No, I haven't seen the other matrix movies, but I was able to pick up on the subtext and shit, and it gave me almost a nostalgic view of movies to when I was a young'un and just enjoyed movies for the spectacle instead of having to understand everything narratively
Damn little women is a very wholesome movie š„ŗ
You should watch the other ones
I think I've only watched the one with Winona Ryder
but I love the book
Which one?
I enjoyed the book more than I thought I would
It's very wholesome as well
Yeah it was
The 2019 one?
Ah that one. I liked that version.
there are multiple movie adaptations for it
Itās loosely based off the authorās life with her sisters.
Okay can I just say one thing about encanto || why do even the side characters stand out so much? Like you can tell they put so much care into this family because no matter how insignificant any character is in the story they still take the spotlight in all of their scenes it's crazy ||
|| I've been rewatching and I'm paying attention to everything more too so I see so many small details about characters that they didn't need to add but that add so much to these characters ||
I can't get over this movie fr
Didn't realize I needed it
Just finished encanto
Very good movie
Iāll get on my pc n talk bout it a lil more
a problem i had with encanto is ||i was waiting for some like big adventure some journey. It's not totally a problem reflecting back bc the adventure and journey came from inside. ig it was just the set up so when i checked how much was left i was like wtf. still great i thought the music was great, amazing character design and personalities, another good lesson. in a way it was a safe theme but that's not bad at all.|| encanto
@barren temple also my friend helped me realize my problem with musicals
she was like you like movies like hercules n stuff and i was like yeah then she told me movies like that are considered a musical in a way
then it clicked
in animation i enjoy it bc obv they aint real people and it doesn't feel as awkward meanwhile irl if i saw that shit i'd punch em in the mouth like get tf up out my way mf imma be late
Lmao that makes sense I can see that. Animated songs definitely feel different than live action stuff for me too
like this would be me if i saw that shit irl
On the bus and all of a sudden you see a teenage girl start swinging on the poles singing about how she needs a miracle
Then other people join in
Bouta get jumped
the picture in question?
hand pulling on the emergency stop thing on busses
ok
round 2
I don't blame you, the only live action musicals so far that doesn't make me cringe is Hamilton and Grease
LET ME OFF RN
Lmao
Yeah I think the music has a lot to do with it too
Like Hamilton was so popular because the music was way more relatable as well
But if you hear the same old Cinderella bullshit it's like

I fucking love Latin American music though
One of the reasons I can rewatch
||bruno song was flames|| encanto
Bro I just learned about a lot of the Easter eggs in that song
|| in dolores' part you can see brunos shadow on the balcony and he starts dancing. Then fucking Isabela in that final part just keeps going "and I'm fine and I'm fine and I'm fine" foreshadowing her part || encanto
Idk there's so many details man
I'm having a good time
the problem i had isn't even a problem more like a deviation from what's norm and that's fine
esp after what you said bout the easter eggs
Encanto || well I get what you mean about there not being a big journey or anything, that's why it took me a second to warm up at first. I kinda just realized that I liked that and then thought about it and was like "wait I think I love this movie" lmao ||
It's definitely against the norm and it works for me the more I think about it honestly
||nah im the same it just took me for a surprise like here i am expecting another adventure but i enjoyed how contained it was no need for a big whacky around the world mess. felt much more personal|| encanto
|| yeah I think the big thing they were going for was that each room was its own adventure and I think that did work but one thing that I feel about this movie is that it's an hour and forty minutes and I feel like all the details could only have been done justice if it was over 2 hours lmao ||
|| like i think they put so much care into it that even that runtime wasn't enough ||
|| I wouldn't mind if it was 2h 30min honestly lol ||
i was thinkin the same i was like if this ran another hour or 2 id be happy
Honestly, I thought the music was the weakest part of Encanto.
That's slander
I enjoyed the movie but the songs were kinda whack.
I can't even look at you rn
Some people just have no culture I feel for them
Pity them even

That one song made me cry every time I watched that scene ngl
You know the one
So i just got out of nwh
Spider-man no way home || hrjdnrhcbjrjrhrbt HOLY SHIT that movie was amazing, the villains were great especially norman
i loved tom so much in this movie he was Amazing even better than he was before, ned and mj were great too i loved ned getting the magic stuff, that opening scene was Amazing, tobey and andrew were so fucking good especially Andrew the interactions between the 3 were great Iād watch an entire movie of these guys just hanging out doing stuff, mays death
and the ending was depressing
at least he got that badass new suit ||
Nwh || also seeing matt was fantastic
so happy he was there ||
Squid Game is manhua in real life! Pog
Fr tho, Iām starting the first episode. Looking forward to it
@sinful vessel MCU latest
About halfway in hamiltons pretty great love all the songs

So for comics, what do these roles mean? I obviously know what a writer and editor does but what about the other 3
penciler is the person who does the line art
so the black and white art
colorist is the person who colors it
letterer is typesetting
so if you're looking for whoever drew the comic, penciler is your go to
Has anyone seen mayor of kingstown?
As Wanze explained, penciller is the main artist who does the art with the pencils, inker does the inking on the pages, colorist and letterer do as mentioned by Wanze already
The making of a comic book is very collaborative and time intensive, due to issues being separate books being sold
Fantastic Four (1961) 7
Good thing it is like this now, until like the 1970s most DC and Marvel comic artits didn't get credited on the comics themselves
iirc especially DC
It's the creators themselves
Those who worked on the issues itself were credited on the issues in that run
Bill Finger for Batman, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster for Superman, they got fucked by legal and contractual obligations
The place im staying for holiday has no walk in sewers
My favourite Hitchcock film
Hitchcock at the height of his prowess here
My first takeaway is that there's no way people just keep their windows wide open like that lmfao
||That man looks familiar
|| Rear Window (1954)
Same honestly
Although i saw it a long time ago
I should rewatch it
The transitional shots
This is an exercise in restraint that I think only he was capable of
And it's damn entertaining at that
Just watched Encanto.. super cute, loved the ending
Now that my important exam is done, there's a lot of shit I've got to catch up and watch
And read
-Finishing off Calvin and Hobbes reread
-Hawkeye binge
-Succession rewatch
-Band of Brothers rewatch
-Start Edgedancer and Oathbringer
Did you watch the good place
Yes, while it was airing
Aw
Good show
Great show
Ted Danson is the best part of the whole thing, he steals the show everytime he's on but the entire cast does no less
D'arby tho
She goated
Just a question: is it necessary to spoiler tag every picture? Even If it doesnt give anything from the story?
You have to spoiler tag anything pertaining to the piece of media
Ok
Unless it's like newspaper comic strips or something
The format there is that it doesn't spoil much of anything
Anything that pertains to any narrative media applies
Abbott and costello meet frankestein ||https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/918777715363037237/925804917262782474/Abbott-and-Costello-Meet-Frankenstein-1948-00-23-24.jpg||
I love castles in old movies
Pretty cool stuff
||He fucked up|| Rear Window (1954)
Can't stop thinking about C'mon C'mon
||lmao
|| Rear Window (1954)
How did you like the movie
That must have been a pain to film
||funny ending|| rear window
All the long sequences and transitional shots lol
great film
I watched The Master last night
Yea first time
I watched there will be blood the day before, think i prefer the master
Yeah there will be blood isnāt that good
Its one of those academy acclaimed that donāt make sense to me
oh booba fett is out
black mirror is crazy good
it's also depressing af
Yeah i cant watch black mirror anymore
after watching black mirror you reach a point where you're like
"this ending is gonna just be bullshit I'll have no positive closure" and then you stop
just reading shit hitting the fan over and over
@brave orbit @copper phoenix whatād you think of the WoT finale btw?
Thought it was good
I think it was alright
it was enjoyable enough despite the changes
wot finale + books || ngl the seanchan arrival cracked me up cuz they went "fuck that kid in particular"
||
Southpark || its funny that cartman knows perfect spanish for some reason ||
Spider-Man NWH || every day while in traffic, or anywhere really I hope for the opportunity to find a Peter so I can airdrop them this ||
Yeah the first episode was good
Deadpool 2 ||Damn, why they kill the girl so soon. Deadpool and her were going to live a happy(???) life together
||
I wasn't a big fan of deadpool 2 tbh
in a good way
the buildup sometimes is great
and some episodes arent that depressing
||like white christmas|| black mirror
Deadpool 2 ||Hey wait a second all the X-Men where just in that room hold on now
||
Why is skrillex playing

marvel flicks more your take fr fr
man, og simpsons really goated
so quotable
Did you like nomadland? Be real
Deadpool 2 ||Bro what the fuck i was actually kinda hyped to see the new team but all of them died such horrible but petty deaths wtf ššš||
haven't seen any chloe zhao films
please spoiler tag your images if they contain content from their respective series
Oh ok my bad
np
im assuming that was some sort of batman comic
so like Batman so and so ||spoilers||
I mean itās a small filmography.. but nonetheless, watch that and then let me know why it deserved best picture lol
Yes
Ok
wait weren't you talking about there will be blood

Yeah but more so how the fact that academy recognizes films that arenāt as good as the claim theyāre awarded
There will be blood is an example for me
And so is nomadland
Academy awards don't even matter lol
It kinda does cause then the prestige on all the directors and actors goes up a lot and they can charge a lot for their films
Oh yeah, that's true
nah it really doesn't matter. there has been interviews with judges on the academy panel and they dont even watch the movies. its just a big circle jerk to give themselves and their friends awards
Yeah maybe but it still holds weight
Ceremony ratings donāt matter⦠people just watch the important moment on yt anyway
But yeah in the industry itās still a big deal cause unfortunately every person in it wants one
Tradition yk
Finished Deadpool 2
That was a really fun movie
Iād love to see him in the MCU but for several reasons that probably wonāt happen
Yeah Deadpool just doesnāt work outside of a R rating environment, heās too raunchy
I don't think any x-men stuff is in the mcu, blob
not yet but soon
wandavision || unless you count that detail in wandavision where they said she always had her powers and the stone just amplified them ||
I never said there was

X-men done right could really carry the MCU going forward
multiverse
wondering how they'll handle mutant discriminations if at all
always found it silly when mutants got so much hate by the marvel civilians but if you get your powers by other means they loved you

how is boba fett show? i dont have disney+ anymore so im on the sidelines lol
i don't know yet
Heard good things
Havenāt checked it out myself
idk man it feels wrong to have any actor other than hugh jackman as wolverine tho
I see
|| I was reading theories that itās related to Thanosā snap or the emergence from Eternals⦠but yeah idk cause Wanda and Maximoff were introduced way earlier than that. But itās not like meta humans are new to MCU.. just slap on the term mutants and we got X-men.. no similar background needed || MCU related
NWH || chad entrance for matt into the movies ||
|| lol I meant quicksilver ha ||
But the whole mutant thing is a core of x-men, theyre not super heroes in the same sense as all other marvel dudes
Thatd be lazy
Lazy isnt the right word
It wouldnt really fit if they just popped up imo
Yeah I think thatās why people were saying maybe || the snap or the emergence, so they donāt have to retcon the genetic part of it || MCU
I think if they just retconned them to always exist would be good
|| word Iām fine with it. I mean why exclude Wanda and quiksilver from reasoning, just make it so they always existed || MCU
Ya
X-men ||There has probably been comics that have addressed that but i think another point is to show that racism is irrational plus the mutant racists are like irl ones where they are irrationally afraid of becoming the minority||
Fantastic Four 1961 10 ||Disgusting how people have to deal with that shit
||
Fantastic Four 1961 10 ||Lol||
Fantastic Four 1961 10 ||Lmao. Canāt believe the Stan Leeās name came from a comic book character. Thatās absolutely insane ||

Is Eternals (2021) comic good, do you think
marvel has that as a stable entry point into any comics
Read the neil gaiman one
WoT finale + book spoilers || I fucking know right
They should have had a village there or something. But they do fucking war chants then summon a giant tsunami and it looks like they did all that for a little girl ||
Was so extra
Was laughing my ass off
not Gillen?
š
I see
Just Finished book of boba ep 1
Really good start
Book of boba || loved the little flashbacks to how he escaped and what happened after chad boba just drinking then catching the hit
, music was Amazing, and i really like boba so far walking by himself and wanting to rule with respect
||
Looking forward to next week
Kinda wish we had a discord tech channel
Probably don't hear about the James Webb Telescope
As in I hardly open my books wider than this @white smelt
N or M^^
So reading manga bt opening only this much will be impossible
I mean, you can open it wider, breaking the spine is just for when you crack that bitch wide open
which you aren't
Yeaah ig
Heard doing that process is good for the longetivity
Also yeah got this too
finger reveal

Just watched this netflix movie, Knives Out
Great cluedo-like movie, very funny and clever. Full recommend.

@regal root @burnt lake

MCU finna be LIT
MCU ||We got Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She Hulk, Daredevil, Deadpool, Kingpin, Fantastic Four, Blade, Kang. Disney finna be making a shit ton of money man||
Blob
Can i help you
do you know any other comics besides Marvel

knives out is great, one of the best films last year
Like, certified A+ grade
harsh prolly knows this one
hm?
Matt Wagner's "Grendel"
its cool ye, very noir
rian johnson went all out on knives out, kinda wanna rewatch it
i saw that one in the cinemas
i already have a lot of shit on my plate
It was real good harsh, yeah. Watched it with the family. Knives Out Spoilers:||the bait with the fake knife at the end was something I did not see coming at all but audibly gasped when I realised. fucking brilliant.||
my mom discovered yesterday that i watched more than 5k movies and she is still shocked
I have no idea how many movies I've watched
i can name entire filmographies of directors lmaoo

but ye, knives out 2 has a great cast already
quite a few people here are fans of that film
me, fats, fate

I haven't seen it yet
it has a great cast ye
Hello gentlemen anyone have any moonknight comic recommendations excited for the show coming up but donāt know anything about him besides the cool design and the meme edits
I gotchu homie
there's this list you can follow but basically try to just go from earliest appearance to latest
Welcome to the Moon Knight Reading Order. This reading order contains all the essential and recommended comic book issues for you to enjoy Moon Knight.
Werewolf by Night #32 is his first appearance
but you can also go from the 1980 run of MK
Jamie Lee Curtis I thought was a great cast even though ||her character wasn't the most relevant in the movie by a wide margin. And Chris Evans' character reveal was a complete shock to me.||
why not lol
?
knives out ||her son murdered her father, she is one of the main benefactors of his inheritance and she found out her husband cheated on her, her entire world crumbled along with his massive fucking ego, she was very relevant by the end||
knives out ||she got her shit rocked along with her siblings and siblings-in-laws||
knives out ||I know she was relevant but my main point was that she just wasn't the most relevant character. I felt like of all the people to inherit Harlan's wealth she was the least relevant. Also, the fact that ransom murdered her father is basically never brought up.||
sorry i should correct that, ||of all the main people to inherit the wealth, that is, excluding the ones we thought wouldn't earlier in the flim, like ransom etc etc||
and that's all to say that I still really liked her character and cast, I just thought ||she wasn't as relevant as other characters, which isn't even necessarily a bad thing||
knives out ||the point of the whole movie is how privilege shows up in different forms in different people, harlan's family has a whole range of assholes who drop their guise to hunt marta down for taking their share of the inheritance, the point of the movie is to show that no matter how well intentioned they are, they are nothing but a toxic family coasting off of their father's reputation.. they're spoilt brats||
|| Squid Gameās characterizations remind me of Breaking Bad a lot. Like youāre given the premise of their lives and how they change based on the showās obstacle. || Squid Game/Breaking Bad
Knives Out ||yes but that doesn't necessarily mean that one character can't be more relevant than the other... There was Jacob, the 16 year old nazi guy or whatever, and he was barely relevant, yet every bit as toxic.||
knives out ||johnson makes it pretty clear at the end, marta being genuinely good to others despite being of lesser circumstances is more deserving of harlan's wealth because she was the only person who connected with him on a very deep level, the inheritance and family relations are as important to the plot as the murder itself, it hinges on the extra thematic element, johnson is making a point of how privilege manifests in people and how toxicity and selfishness means nothing in front of genuine kindness. all those who lost their inheritance are as important to the story as the one who killed harlan, ransom, who was the only guy brave enough to show how much of an asshole he was, he was the only person to act on it, the family itself is very similar to ransom but did not overplay it or were not as evil as him, its a varying degree||
god i love this movie
it do be a great film
knives out ||I absolutely understand that this is what johnson is trying to do, but you simply cannot make the claim that everyone that lost their inheritance is as relevant as each other. They simply aren't. They all play a piece into the mystery, which is great and I highly appreciate the attention to detail, but I will never understand someone that believes that a character like Jacob is just as relevant as a character like Walt.||
It is def one of my fav films i've seen this year, yeah.
I was shocked, truly.
I thought his character was for the memes.
Like Jaeden Martell's character
eat shit
His character is great
one of best actors ever
Such praise, I don't think i've ever seen a movie apart from Knives Out that Michael Shannon acted in
nvm 8 mile
shannon is great
and... Kangaroo Jack?
best part of man of steel too
Michael Shannon starred in Kangaroo Jack...
yeah
This movie is cinema
Theres an animated one
new fett show sucked lol
@modern lichen Knives Out ||man... I just rewatched the family politics scene, where they talk about american immigration and richard brings in marta as an example of "legal immigration"... the way they treat marta is so horrible... there's one thing I noticed on this quick rewatch, There's a brief moment where Richard hands Marta his plate as if she's a maid or something, and it's never even mentioned with a reactionary shot or anything, it's just extremely subtle things like this that make this movie great, and the fact that they always mention a different place that they think marta is from. I tried to find a clip of this scene so I can timestamp it, but unfortunately I couldn't.||
decided not to watch star wars related stuff for quite some time
me watching rise of the skywalker with a friend of mine in the theatre:

JJ Abrams
matt reeves and jj abrams started at the same time and were creative partners
look how each of them turned out
cloverfield
i liked cloverfield, it was alright
let me in, ye
but then, the two apes movies

not really a fan of them but I dont think they're bad movies
Shame you didnāt enjoy it
dawn improved on everything from the first film and war bookended it in a very cool way
also matt reeves as a film maker is exponentially better than abrams
maybe ill rewatch them
there just wasn't any substance there lol
and it looked super low budget
I love Morrison but seeing a 60 year old struggle with stunts is kinda sad

I'm screaming
LMAOOO
LMAO

@rich meadow did you read chapter 81?
Uhhh lemme check. Donāt think so as Iāve been away all day and forced to use mobile
Nope Iām on 78 but am going to read some now before going to bed
nice
Oathbringer ||latest thing that happened was Dalinar flashback where they invade the rift and Dalinar accidentally kills Evi||
Oathbringer ||this gave me chills||
Oathbringer || š ||
Iāll ping you when I read 81
Watched NWH a second time yesterday with another friend
Was better around than the first time imo
Amazing Fantasy 15 + Daredevil 1 ||Is that the Fixer from Daredevil
||
Amazing Fantasy 15
Damn, the Tobey movies really adapted this part well
Amazing Fantasy 15 ||
||
Closest I have is the 4 favorite thing from letterboxd @manic forge
But also add Late Spring, Tokyo Story and Seven Samurai at the very least lol
You watched citizen kane??
Of course I did lol
I dont think it is THE best but it was pretty damn good
How is Hitchcock's work?
Great
Any movie that stands out the most?
Hitchcock is one of the masters
Also this doesn't include future movies I have already watched btw, my actual fav is Shawshank Redemption
I'm going through the years lol
I really need to up my movies as i won't lie i have been slacking on them a lot
I watched a few silent movies and started adding more once the 1930s rolled around basically
Dude

Yeah Hitchcock has some bangers
1930????????
The Rope is basically all the movie in just one room and it's awesome
Uh, Rear Window, Vertigo, Psycho, The Birds, Rebecca, Dial M For Murder, North By Northwest, Strangers on A Train, 39 Clues, Notorious, Spellbound, Suspicion, Rope
Just some of them
I haven't even finished the entire mcu films

I started this in like october last year
What made you to even start this though
I mean going as far as you did is not something the average joe would do
When I was on a month's break from this server and discord, I rewatched 57 movies and watched 6 movies for the first time
Those 6 were uh.. new ones
I try to watch at least 2 films per day if I can
That was last month or am i tripping?
Manga?
Since I'm in 1966 with manga/anime I'm going slower with that so I eventually catch up with movies/comics (I'm at 1954 with those) and combine them all lol
Oh I also was watching old sports along with anime/manga but paused that once I started with movies/comics. Is a lot I know
Lol
So yeah, I'm an insane person
Ya know, I told my mom the amount of content I've seen/read throughout my entire life and she called me a monster
I will also watch TV shows btw, that's the one that will really kill me, so many fucking hours lol
TV shows really punch the wind out of you
The most time intensive
I read 23-24 books this year itself as well
Yeah books for now are out of bounds lol
Hog, what made you start this everything through the years run?
Also I prefer to go in chronological order
Is fun to see things evolve with time
Also some funny things in hindsight
So yeah, I'm in 1954 and movie stats are like this so far
Also I have up to 1964 on my watchlist
Yeah once the 1960s hits it gets crazy lol
More movies, I start TV shows, more sports footage out there, and of course the boom of Marvel and DC silver age comics
Are you watching fellini hog
I don't have a letterboxd thing but uh.. I have a lot
What's your favourite fellini film fed
Fewer than 2 per day really lol
I watched none
Also unlike anime/manga, I dont rate shit of other media lol
They're great, fellini is one of the greats
Cant be arsed
Nights of cabiria is one my favorite movies
Well i probably did but dont remember it
Yea i saw some clips
i rate everything
I mean I will say if I liked something or not but I wont give grades/scores like I do with anime/manga
When are you getting to 2000
So far these 2
Ah
La Strada is his first well known film
Italian neorealism
Fellini's films are more surreal and fantastical
Future ones I suppose
These 2 were pretty much like other neorealist movies I have watched
With some goofy humor here and there lol
Yeah, his style and film making ethos evolves, starting with La Dolce Vita
Fellini's images are very magical
Comic magazines I have fully completed
(altho I skipped a lot of stories from these tbh)
And currently is just these, but silver age is approaching
Is this Letterboxd?
I like how international the list is turning around
That's a really cool thing btw
One would actually know how various inspiration for further series and tropes came to be
Next 10 on the list, the variety of themes and languages in here lmao
White Christmas coming a lil late lol
The Batman || https://mobile.twitter.com/abbitr2/status/1476177314182758400 ||
So much good art for The Batman
That hot
Pattinson looks so good as Bruce
Yea
Uhh That's not the right 12 angry men
That's the shitty 1997 one
finished a kdrama called oh my ghost and started another one, god I'm addicted
eh i had not even watched a single kdrama š
get a room already
Tama won't join the crew
thats spoilers
Lmao
we're not in manga

they're good
I will watch that one too, this one is a 1954 TV movie actually
Which is 50 minutes long lol
Why are you posting fanart of an emo kid

According to social media heās too skinny (their words not mine)
I mean.. it's par for course
Ben Affleck got complaints that he was too bulky
Keaton got complaints about how he's a comedy actor and not suitable for Batman
Bale got complaints even
It's natural
Bale got dunked on like 90% of the time he was in conversation
And Affleck
Affleck honestly got it worse
Thatās fair.. I mean I think Pattinson would def stand out from Bale and Ben. Cause they felt a bit interchangeable
Loving how people's perceptions are changing of Pattinson
He has already proven himself to be a powerhouse
Now he's back to being in big movies
Yeah this is his moment for sure
Hopefully this movie washes off the last of the Twilight stench
he is a really good actor, so im trying to be open minded
The Twilight stench has washed off, it's just a few people who have faulty noses
Yeah for me it was his peformance in Tenet that made me see him in a new light
Reeves puts everything into anything he makes
The Lighthouse was a revelation
Dude matched Dafoe
Not easy
Yeah I need to watch that lol
Reeves got Pattinson because he saw Good Time and The Lighthouse
aha
Interesting
i liked good times a lot
I don't think any other actor would've sold what this Batman is selling other than Pattinson
Not of all, Nicholas Hoult
Who, I admit is a good actor but not on the calibre of Pattinson
Also, if you wanna see some funny good acting from Pattinson, watch The King
He plays the Dauphin of France in it
He's a joy to watch
Yeah thatās what made me like Tim
i liked that one as well
i think he blew up because call me by your name
Omg
oh well yeah
oh rlly ? i have only heard praises for his batman in my circles
oh
now he gets memed on instead because of his bat voice
I mean, yeah
It's the worst aspect of his otherwise excellent Batman, that and his fighting in later films
The fighting can be attributed to Nolan
His out of suit performance was better imo
The batman voice was super cringe to me when i watched tdk
I mean, his bad suit was already addressed
But the design of the suit was eh
Still a great Batman
Batman as a character is more iconic than what iteration was played by which actor
Joker in the Dark Knight became special also for the impact Ledger created in such a short amount of screentime
thats true
watching "the beatles: get back" doc by peter jackson
didnt even know the next black panther movie is coming out next year
no hate bc i like watchin the jurassic world movies but do people really care?
like i mean edge of their seats anticipation
no idea, wonder how they measured this

lol
i dont even think ive seen the second one
i hope this one's good
i have memories of it but i cant remember if i saw it or saw a video on it
yeah i dont remember most of what happens in the movie
first 2 movies are pretty good
was about to say
jurassic park itself is one of my favourites ever
lost world is pretty good
i dont put it anywhere near my top but theyre really fun movies
they're the shining example of block busters
3 is pretty short but it gets undue hate
3 is pretty bad tbh lol
Nope that's Lost World
Juraasic park 3
jurassic park 3 ||has the long snout one vs trex||
lol yeah
jurassic park 3 ||page one vs trex||

jurassic park 3 ||the spinosaurus is scary tho||
Are they replacing Chadwick for the role or what?
not likely
Black panther 2 || I think theyre just having the sister character take over ||
Thatās what I thought too but can she really carry a sequel?
she was cool
Yeah sheās great but I think they need to recast black Panther
hard to recast someone in general, especially after the actor dies
