Matrix Resurrections || all the meta stuff was nice, there were ideas that were expanded on well—the self referential nature of sequels and stories to follow, the power of love and all, but—the problem is itself is how it packaged itself, the role of Morpheus felt hamfisted, however good Yahya Abdul-Mateen was, doesn't really lend to the impact Laurence Fishbourne had, Jonathan Groff was cool, couldn't beat Hugo Weaving and his cool and chilly portrayal. However the worst offenders were the visuals and the score, which I felt were very lacking. The cinematography itself is very uninspired, due to the lack of any commanding visual language, especially in the way action was filmed and choreographed. The movie also has an exposition problem with it showing more than telling, a lot of it comes down to the overall execution of writing and the other aspects that make it a film come in tandem which was severely lacking ||

The Matrix Resurrections || the casting overall is good, Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe salvaged the role in this, Neil Patrick Harris did the best he could with the material he had, which of course was delivering all of these just boring monologues explaining his motivations, Priyanka Chopra was pretty cool, Jessica Henwick was good here as well. Not a lot of variety in locations and settings as well, nothing appears lived in nor does any of the stakes of the actual story have any effect on anyone ||

Bill Pope and Don Davis not being on this project as cinematographer and composer respectively hurt the film as well

The Riddler is so intimidating and I can't wait to see more of the mind games. Visually, this looks incredible in every sense of the word ||
