Dante’s Divine Comedy: Inferno thoughts so far ||Made it to entrance to Dis, the capital city of hell. Which seems to be guarded by the fallen angels of hell. Just got past the 5th gate. The poetry flows so well and the references are almost like a portal into the past. I am not a Christian but I find this setting very fascinating and it’s interesting seeing what influenced all the mythology of hell. ||Great book basically

like i enjoy a good adaptation even if it strays from the books

yeah brandon seems to supportive of it and that's fine but it doesn't affect my opinions yknow. i understand thats its a different turning of the wheel and its an adaptation but when an adaptation strays from the essence of a work is when i don't enjoy it as much

Or that Mat was never a thief, that he was a prankster who would rush into danger to save the ones he cares about, but he leaves his sister's behind to people who may not look after them?||

WoT books ||but thats what I mean, the essence of Mat's character is that he would jump headfirst into danger in order to save someone he cares about. dude went headfirst into the Black Ajah to save Nynaeve and Egwene, and Nynaeve tells a story of how he jumped into a river to save a drowning village member. And Perrin was always a very overly cautious person, that's why killing the Whitecloak terrified him so much and he was scared of the wolf inside him, that it was something he was capable. Those few changes, for me at least take away from the essence of those character. I feel like you can change the events but keep the core of the characters similar and I would have no issues||
