Didnt notice that
maybe its just my OCD but the backgrounds and world lore in general seemed off from the original, different environmental cues etc
it couldve meshed better with Inc, but it didnt
Oh yeah if you say it like that i agree
I just couldnt bring myself to like the characters
Even sully and mike
lol yeah , just seemed like a cash grab cause monsters inc was sorta being talked about in communities again
YOOOO
WAIT
WAIT

WHAT

… never heard of it
Nice
immensely interesting sci-fi world it builds
Can never get enough sci fi
bradley cooper is apparently attached to this project
warner bros is attached...
wow...its actually happening
i could cry lmao

oscar winner graham king attached to produce this project
theres no idea yet if its gonna be a movie or tv series, might be a tv series.....tv series would be more ideal so you could fit more events in it
holy fucking shit...
reading synopsis it sounds amazing
It’s more amazing than the synopsis could possibly put into words
So fucking happy …was literally begging for this in my mind when dune was getting closer to dropping
Says the launch will be part of Bradley Coopers debut for his Production Company…. thats pretty coool
strong start if they pull this off well, very ambitious too
yeah def... and sorry I didn't know you said that already lol
its all good i didnt mention the production company bit
mannnn no one is ready for the things theyre about to see
the sci-fi boom is here
its the comeback season
hell yes it is
that guy whos youtube vid i linked, has very good videos about dune and hyperion fun facts n shit
awesome channel
word Ima check it out.. after seeing Dune I'm excited to see other sci fi novels adopted
also I love space operas
good! thats the exact spirit needed rn
his videos are like good cliffs notes if you dont want to read thru the whole books but want to know about the cool shit/interesting shit
theres 4 hyperion books, each one isnt too long really, the first dune book is longer than the first hyperion book
ah gotcha.. if the YT channels interesting I might actually check out the book lol.. I lowkey bought Dune recently too
oooh then i think itll do you good in that regard
it sufficiently hyped me up about everything too
just go to the playlist in the channel and go thru hyperion playlist or dune playlist etc
and if u wanna bring up anything that pops out at you to me and talk about it ur more than welcome to
Bet, thanks
I see this guys covers GoT and Star Wars, so I might even check out those 😆
Nice, he’s pretty new to me as well
Aw Hyperion nice
A tv series would be awesome if it was an episode for each pilgrim tale
Wheel of Time getting adapted
Yeah
Next is Mistborn and Malazan and then Hyperion
Too much stuff out there
One advantage for Malazan is that it's over
Fuck I don’t think you can do Malazan
Hot take maybe but I think Cosmere stuff would be good animated
Nah I agree
Stormlight especially
Yeah
Either live action or animation I won't mind Cosmere being adapted either way
Book of the New Sun would work better animated (but that’s sci-fi)
Hm
I mean, we've already got a really good Dune adaptation now with Denis Villeneuve, we can go further with sci-fi as well tbh
I am honestly excited for Lightyear
I'll miss Tim Allen as him, but I think Chris Evans will do a good job.
Maybe Chris Evans is trying to escape the superhero nonsense
iv gotta say even but thankfuls banner is legendary
isnt lightyear a superhero
idk
Free Guy?
Yesss but I just learned about it last year that it was supposed to be a sequel, without context from the first one
ig yes i forgot the name my fav YouTubers kinda advertised it
It looks a fun movie
Time to rewatch the first Friday the 13th
Only saw it once like 2-3 years ago at a friends house so i remember like 2 things
|| I’m beginning to enjoy Debra a little more as the episodes go by. Also Dexter himself just fucked up big time getting caught like that. || Dexter season 1 E5
Way of Kings ||Gaz is a cunt||
Ms. Marvel comes out next month
?
yeah its not mister fantastic like now
its hardening
so they're erasing the inhumans angle
Where’d you hear that from harsh? It makes sense since the Inhumans show isn’t apart of the mcu but just curious
Although they could just recreate it
Introduce it with Ms. Marvel
Wait was that confirmed

Thought that was just cool effect
It could be
i'm not excited for it at all so eh
Its out today here
You going?
Yess!! I’m tooo hype
Im not sure, if i can find someone that wants to see it, not that hyped for it that id like to see it by myself
any interest in wheel of time show coming in 2 weeks?
Ill watch it, no idea what it is about. Only knows its a fantasy based of some well liked books
@sage sleet what day are you seeing Eternals?
I haven’t really been keeping up with mcu
Not sure if I’ll watch eternals
Hype ended at endgame for me
I know they’re completely different mediums but it bugs me when they don’t have the rights to certain characters
||Like the fact that dr. Doom isn’t in infinity war at all takes a lot from it for me. Was great in the original comics. And civil war without reed richards just doesn’t feel the same.|| civil war/infinity war/infinity gauntlet comics and movie spoilers
||Also Wang is really butchered from his comics representation|| dr. Strange
Those are the examples that come to mind
I'd be amazed if it didn't get delayed
Things sure do happen!

Way of Kings ||Don't you dare badmouth Jasnah||

In all seriousness she seems like an intriguing character
Way of Kings ||I can tell this whole Shallan plotline will head in an interesting direction||

Sopranos season 6 episode 1 ||| lol this guy just had a heart attack while snitching to the fbi, ||
ngl i didn't like the last 2 eps as much as the rest
ep 7 better than 6 tho for me
Really? I loved that last episode
You didn't like || the best action sequence so far? ||
|| Or tHe mUsIcaL?! ||
Still gotta watch ep 7 rn but regardless if you liked it better I know I'm probably gonna be destroyed by it
So far for me it's ep 2 and ep 6 tied for best
You have no idea

Btw @sage sleet thoughts on the Maya ending? I feel like it was kinda abrupt but it was crazy anyway I enjoyed it a lot
the musical... musicals make me feel weird
i shall not fib
i have yet to finish maya
been applying for jobs im gonna do it today tho
Gotcha gotcha
I'm a certified musical r word so I don't get you but I get you there
something about musicals make me feel so uncomfortable
like
act mf stop singin stop lookin at me
Lmao
I love the cheesiness man I wish I could just randomly burst out into song and have my grandpappy join along
Instead he just looks at me like I'm crazy
Ok boomer
my first thought was to get violent if i caught my grandpappy going into song while im piss chillin
they both lucky they dead or i woulda straight swung on em

should buy my ticket rn
basically empty theatre we in this
amc a list or whatever it's called is 99 cents for the first month
that is p fuckin good
however i loaned my mom 5k and i am piss poor til i get that money back
Presumably eternal
come here
👀
My fault og
@sage sleet first five minutes into helluva boss ep 7 || I think I get what your thoughts are because it feels less comedy driven rn and idk if that's the big reason for you there. ||
Last ping but I'm picking up what you're throwing back
i do like when shows can get serious but i feel like sometimes it's weird especially when it comes outta the blue
I get what you mean. For me it's just been building up to this stuff and I've just been waiting patiently for it so I'm feeling really good about it
But I do think the comedy is probably the main reason people seem to like helluva boss over hazbin hotel so it'd probably alienate a lot of people at this point
a lot of the moments def hit and it has been leading so i can respect it
i'll wait til you're done with the ep to say more to avoid spoilers
Just finished it
|| did not expect another musical so I sympathize with you there lmao. That boy had some chops though oml ||
|| yeah I was looking for some more story on the blitz stolas thing too because I was wondering if they were gonna make it becoming an actual relationship more of a part of the story ||
||what i really disliked was the whole distortion not in their right mind gas thing i always hate that shit in anything it's a me thing but i despise it|| helluva boss ep 6
Makes sense makes sense. || That fight scene though yk. Plus Stolas coming in mannn I guess at least there was some stuff for everybody there ||
No idea where that's gonna go though
I'm replaying this episode 7 bit because I think I have a new favorite character fuck
What the fuck
Oh a new episode came out huh
yuh
Yessum
Finale part 1? Didn’t expect that
The sopranos season 6 episode 3 || tonys awake now and it looks like he's been drinking alot of juice ||
Batman: What ever Happended to the caped crusader
All the fucks I had for ATLA live action went into the 2010 film… unfortunately I don’t have any left to give for the Netflix adaption
Nonetheless I do remember that guy from Lost. || him and his the wife’s death is like top 5 saddest tv deaths to me || lost
for me it's simply morbid curiosity
I just wanna see how garbage it can go
same with op netflix
I have a question about ATLA some of my more knowledgeable colleagues might know
ATLA end ||When Aang lost access to the Avatar State, I thought it was because of his inability to let go of the people he loves (Katara). I thought that shut off his chakra, but was it actually Azula blasting him with lightning??||
Atla end || azula turned it off ozai turned it on by slamming him into a rock ||
||He got interrupted before he could complete the training so his chakras were blocked up|| ATLA end
||Before he left, the Guru told him if he didn’t complete the final chakra he wouldn’t be able to use the avatar state again. That’s what happened.|| ATLA
||He was also “killed” while in the Avatar state so that had something to do with it.|| ATLA
ATLA end ||So it was more the zap? Cause he used it again at the end
||
||It was the zap + his chakras being blocked due to not completing the training. The rock to the head unblocked them.|| ATLA
Interesting
|| did he die or did avatar Roku just warn him about dying? Because if he did it was a guarantee that the avatar state is gone along with the avatar || ATLA
|| the blocked chakras was more of an uncertainty ||
|| near death i think. Maybe his heart stopped for a bit|| atla
||Aang thought he died at least|| ATLA
|| yeah but like if he actually died by the rules of it all he literally wouldn't be the avatar anymore yk? So it had to be a permanent death maybe ||
|| yeah I thought he legit died and Katara brought him back to life || ATLA
|| I think he said that || ATLA
||The whole thing with how he lost and regained the avatar state is kind of ambiguous|| ATLA
||Getting hit in the head probably means it’s more tied to the chakras being blocked than dying. Or it could be both.|| ATLA
|| I thought he regained it cause the rock pierced the womb Azula inflicted that had it shut off || ATLA
||It hit his spine and the nape of his head iirc|| ATLA
|| yeah I think that's right || ATLA
man it must of been a while since any of us saw atla
I havent seen it since it came out on netflix and i binged it and krora
I recently saw it
I used to watch it like once a year
Read all the comics too
I should rewatch it sooner or later
but its a show i gotta focus on and im already watching the sopranos
there was a point where I was able to name all the episodes in order
longggg ago lol
Damn
William what did you think of the ||Tony B story and ending|| Sopranos S5
The sopranos season 5 Finale || it was good, i was really hoping tony B could go straight. I would of liked a little bit more remose from tony over killing this man he considered a brother, but then again tony is a fucking psycho and didnt care when he killed pussy or anyone else he was close to. I wish Tony B could of said more in that episode, he felt more passive which was a bummer because he is steve buscemi and he could of done alot more ||
Yeah ||I believe Tony B was meant to survive S5 and be more involved in the final season but they changed their minds on that for whatever reason. The murder of Tony B is interesting because you can spin it both ways for Tony. You can say he wanted to spare his cousin from New York taking revenge on him by giving him a quick death, but you can also say he did it mainly because Tony B was a liability that he needed to snip off. Both are true, and it’s a big thing with Tony that he always leaves some room open to justify his crimes for himself. Just shows this guy is capable of anything if pushed enough.|| Sopranos S5
The sopranos season 6 episode 3 || I wish steve buscemi did more when he appeared in tony's near death experience dream, the fact that he was Tony B really meant nothing at that point. ||
Oh I totally didn't see the Book of Boba Fett trailer until just now
The CG looks a bit unfinished
how do you think it'll be?
Sorry for interrupting

Book of Boba ||The premise seems alright. I guess Boba mellowed out in his old age but these dudes talking to him the way they are wouldn't have lasted long in Legends
||

Good call, Goro
Book of Boba || yeah I'm interested in seeing how he plans to run things. The fact he's leaving bounty hunting and wants to run the hutts with "honor" seems interesting considering how we know Boba is like ||
oh damn lol
I thought Mandalorian was coming out this year
I heard they just started filming lol
yeah I heard its coming out next year
Yeah immediately realized it and did

Are you asking for suggestions or giving one?
I need some western comics that aren't about super heroes in my life.
I got some
I've read 3 in the past couple of months.
there's not many iirc
ah yeah that's a good place to start
I just finished up that run
good stuff

Ties in a lot with Korra,I feel
I'm excited to start that.
There's a timeline available online, iirc
It starts with the 2 novels before ATLA (like a few centuries), then ATLA, a couple comics in-between, comics after, Korra, Korra comics
yeah I've been meaning to read the ATLA comics
I'd look up an in-depth one so I don't butcher it
I listened to one of em on YT
Iirc Korra was initially planned to be those comics
But decided to be well.. Korra

oh nice
I wish these comics were better /:
I didn't like the first couple of episodes of Korra and stopped but from stuff I've seen after it looks pretty good.
W h a t
I keep hearing s3 Korra is like amazing
What on earth are you talking about Strong
yes
Which ones did you read
???
I'm jk
I read 3 full volumes
I've read more comics than I care to list or mention, but they aren't that great. They're fine for what they are but they're disappointing
this ended up sucking
I guess I'll see for myself.
maybe it would of been better if i knew anything about the Eternals
Did you recently watch atla Wanze
Yeah I just finished it on monday
Yeah.
Yeah start up with The Promise
korra takes a while to get good i think but its worth it
I had a sporadic viewing schedule cause I only watched it with my SO. Took me like 2 years from start to finish
Oh lmfao
Basically watched it as if it was airing
i wanna get back into Korra for s3 but that means I'd have to watch season 2 and I heard it was bad
I've seen season 1
Because they make them
Book 2's got some great moments
But it's also got some low lows
It makes korra make more sense
Like Low
And theres more context
Korra can stand on its own tbh
would you say its better than s1?
lmao oh igh
But it's not as bad as you would think
well my expectations are dirt low
season 2 of korra is the worst season of either show anything but its not un watchable or anything
even s1 Korra wasn't better than any season of ATLA
but I'm glad the show has a loyal fanbase to keep it flopping
idk i think season 1 of korra and avatar are in the same ball park
But of course avatar had the disadvantage of building the entire world while korra had everything pre-existing
yeah but it also had the advantage of having nothing to really compare it to
when I watch it back it's not that good and it doesn't feel very continuous but I like how things came together in the last few episodes
also || I like the pace which Katara got good with her bending up until the northern water tribe. Her bending there was a bit drastic for me at the time. But then you see how in season 2 her bending is more steady, then in the finale it's like suddenly she can take Azula.. All that plus blood bending in s3, to not really doing much in the series finale || ATLA
sorry idk where that Katara rant just came from
Man katara has been eaten alive by "avatar fans" since it came on netflix
Atla ||katara hates the idea of bloodbending, she tried using it twice in the series. One to protect her friends and the other for vengeance. She learned that it's an evil bending ability and never wished to use it again||
they all pretend she || is a one note character who keeps talking about her dead mom, when shes only brought her up like 4 times ||
Smh
Atla ||pretty sure Iroh talks about his dead son more tbh||
Atla || she def seemed okay with it against her mom's killer.. I actually didn't even know she could use it that well ||
ATLA end ||Honestly since I just now finished it for the first time, I fell for it. Those memes were all I saw and she legit brings it up a couple of times lol People are crazy.||
zuko brings up honor more
Atla || as I said, she used it for vengeance once, and learned it was an evil bending practice, never to use it again, even against Azula||
Atla || its 99% people falling for the meme and sharing it, 1% people who just hate katara for some reason ||
Atla || I can't necessarily recall her saying that exactly... was it in Korra? ||
Atla || I'm saying that in conjecture, but it's basically what she means||
Atla || ahh i see.. yeah I mean after seeing the episode with Hama, I thought she wouldn't use it again. I was really surprised to see her use it against her mom's killer. One would think that kind of vegeance would translate in ending the war that got her mother killed (but to what degree would she rationalize that) ||
Korra || Some time after the 100 year war had ended, Katara wanted to make Bloodbending illegal. Eventually Bloodbending became illegal to use, and illegal to be taught in Republic city. Anyone who was found guilty of using Bloodbending to teaching Bloodbending was sentenced to life in prison. ||
Korra || Katara proposed this herself? ||
Yes
gotcha!
This was copied from the wiki, for reference
ATLA || "Just as she was about have the two kill each other, Katara had no choice but to Bloodbend Hama. After which, Hama was arrest, presumably for the rest of her life. But before she was taken away, Hama congratulated Katara for being a Bloodbender. Terrified of the power that Bloodbending can do, Katara promised herself that she would never use Bloodbending on anyone ever again. However, Katara does end up breaking that promise once, when she and Zuko went on a search for the man who killed her mother." ||
Which leads to this
Korra season 2 || remember when there was a guy who could blood bend with his psychic powers and take away your bending somehow ||
Avatar || explosions make some sense if you consider it a unexplored side of fire bending, but really all the bending out side the Core four start to get weird. Lava bending, lightning, blood, the only one that really works well i think is metal bending ||
Avatar ||Lava feels more earth than fire. Lightning makes sense as its plasma, blood makes sense cause of the amount of water in the human body, and metal bending makes sense as y'know||
I actually remember this in season 1
it is season 1
but if youre on episode 5 of season 1 youd be spiled
but if youre on episode 1 of season 2 you wouldnt be

I'm impressed
Avatar || looking at the wiki, Waterbending has Bloodbending, Healing, Spiritbending, turning water into Ice and Steam as well as standard waterbending. Earthbending has Lavabending, Metalbending, Seismic Sense, Sandbending, mudbending and other misc. ones|| 1/2
Avatar ||Firebending has Combustion bending, Lightning generation and redirection, standard fire bending. Airbending has Flight, Spirit manipulation, and standard Airbending|| 2/2
Avatar comics ||iirc there's a lavabender who's supposed to be natively a firebender but
||
||maybe it's a trait both Firebending and Earthbending can have||
Atla || yeah I took it as two different styles of lava bending.. like earth bending has the ability to create lava (by heating up rock) and firebending has the ability to manipulate lava that already exist ||
Atla || though before Korra I wouldn't of thought that Lava creation could even exist.. the fire bending style from the previous avatars it looked like they had to dig it up from the earth before using it ||
Atla ||I originally thought of lavabending as an "avatar only" bending like Energy bending ig||
Atla || I was thinking that too ||
avatar || im so glad bending in avatar isnt rock paper scissors and any bending can beat any other bending ||
Avatar ||agreed, it all depends on variables, fighting styles and such, how good of a bender you are, etc.||
avatar || I agree too.. I do like the idea of polar opposites though.. like how aang had the most trouble learning earth bending because it was his natural opposite. It kind takes that rock paper scissor aspect and puts it into the learning curve, which was pretty dope imo ||
||I feel that airbending could be used maliciously, like bending the oxygen out of someones lungs, or like in waterbending you could theoretically suck all the hydration out of someone, or in Firebending you could create a vacuum of fire for a lack of oxygen going into the lungs and such||
Avatar^
Atla || I guess it was never explored.. but the monks were near pacifists and probably wouldn't explore that kind of use for airbending ||
Avatar || Pretty sure the monk aang was close to did the air bending thing to those fire benders, its really the only way he could beat them all without getting fire on him, and still die ||

what are you referring to here?
Avatar || this was during the comet too btw, so those fire benders were strong as fuck and he beat them all without getting touched, only way i can think of him beating them is too take all the air out of the room ||
S1
avatar
atla || oh monk gyatso ||
Avatar ||yeah his clothes aren't burned at all, leading to believe that he died of lack of oxygen being in that same room with many soldiers||
atla || I didn't even think about that... I always so it as a shrine to the reveal for Aang learning to truth ||
its so weird
||well yeah, it was more or less, but we're merely speculating|| atla
atla || yeah I mean I just never thought about it... the scene sure opens up this possibility and should really be discussed more.. cause that is weird || atla
||waterbending could theoretically force drown people|| atla
||Earthbending could create a solidified room for lack of oxygen, Firebending could create a vacuum out of fire, airbending could basically create a negative atmosphere|| atla
Avatar || would be very hard to create a room out of earth bending with no way to breathe, the seal would have to be very good, and thats assuming they just cant open a hole themselves ||
Atla ||yeah it's something more as a method for non-benders||
Atla ||an airtight room, eventually passing from carbon dioxide poisoning/lack of oxygen||
Avatar || Isn't lightning the most dangerous form of bending ||
||lightning redirection can be, regarding as it passes near your heart|| atla
||generation, however, is more safe in regard|| atla
Atla || so like what would happen if you airbended an airtight room through its only ventilation point.. would that room have no more air or just its oxygen removed? ||
||no more oxygen input, I feel|| atla
||there'd still be oxygen, but it would deplete eventually.||
Atla^
||I think the novels with Kyoshi get really dark in this regard, when talking about how dangerous standard bending can be|| avatar novels
The novels need more attention tbh
atla || ok sorry I'm mad slow... so yall saying Gyatso might've went into the sealed off chamber room and removed all the oxygen to kill the firebenders (thus killing himself as well) ? ||
||yes|| atla
thats crazzyyyyyyyy
||a last ground defending whatever pupils he was probably defending|| atla
||no oxygen, no firebending, suffocation, and death|| atla
this is literally what happened
||theoretically you can push air downard and make the gravity feel heavier as well|| atla
Well theoretically
Western cartoons typically don't like to throw the word "death" around
Damn my comment brought everyone out of the woodworks for Avatar talk
You love to see it
Sometimes it slips my mind spongebob a sponge
Lmao

Eternals
I know rotten tomatoes is bad but it’s scary that a marvel movie got a 54
Still excited for the movie
RT thought Eternals was shit huh
it's not avengers, so it didn't care

Spider-Man No Way Home
LMAO TRU
a damn shame
But Sharknado was kinda based though
Yeah the ultimate edition is more coherent ig
The soundtrack was excellent
I enjoyed it

The director of the first suicide squad wont shut up about if he got the chance to release his version it would be good
idk what could be different really
i liked deadshot and amanda waller
otherwise idc bout it
i'd be down to see it but like what's the point now
james gun suicide squad was rlly good
The Ayer suicide squad is like watching a trainwreck in a trainwreck
Snider got a cut so now everyone wants one huh
Except that Ayer didn't have any problems while making the film that made him quit the movie midway and shit
wb did cuck him a lot but yeah nothing as big as snyders
yea his movie just sucks 🤷♂️
Fucking Jianyu is the fire lord
Dark Knights Of Steel is good
read it
All Hail Tom Taylor
thank you for coming to my Tom Talk
Oh shit
Is it that good
Damn
Gonna check it out
Does it require any previous reading
Fascinated by the DC universe being set in mediaeval times
nope
previous readings do help highlight how original it is
it has a twist it it that is One Piece level's of jaw dropping

That reminds me... I need to start long halloween
Hopefully I can tomorrow
if anyone wants to nab issue one
I just download my issues to read on my system so I don't really use comixology lol
Long Halloween is good
Really looking forward to this
tho I'm a bit sick of Bats right now
Long Halloween is one of my favourite Batman stories
Batman is my favourite character maybe ever
high key would drop Batman if not for Batgirls
I have been stuck with work lol. Should free up tomorrow or day after
I don't know I don't really like Tom King much
I don't like his batman either
Just saying that Tom King is not up to my speed
Internal characterisation can only go some way
Your external stories have to be good too
I don't see that with King
for me. Really? It's just too many bat books right now
I'm not reading any ongoing mainstream superhero stuff since like forever so I'm very out of the loop
I read Batman, Detective, Nightwing both all of the digital bat books
I read the Tom King run until a certain point only out of sheer curiosity
Detective is great right now
Man I can't be bothered with all these ongoings
I think it's the first time a woman's ever written it
I'm reading a lot of indie stuff ongoing
and it damn shows
such a different voice for Batman
feels like such a real person and less like a damn robot
I also like Nightwing but I like anything Taylor writes
err kinda?
like I love Bruce but right behind him are my favs
Dick is prolly one of my favourite DC characters
Cass, Dick, Steph
Yeah Cass is great too
Superman is mine. Than Batman than Cass
Batman, Superman, I'd say uh.. prolly Dick yeah
I'm just tired of superhero comics, been so for quite some time
I do want to check out Swamp Thing
Heard the current run by Ram V is insane
Lucifer 58 || I really like elaines story, i thought it would end with her becoming a guardian of lucifers world but her becoming god is cool too ||
Lucifer 61 || I wonder what superman is busy doing while the world is ending through means he cant affect ||
Not really a factor and i dont think its true during this run
@ocean gyro please spoiler tag your messages when talking about series specifics
Ok sorry!
That's true!

Lucifer 65
Damn, you're almost done.
yeaf
How are you liking it? I should just go ham and start it up again.
Indeed.
Sandman ending and lucifer 65 || sandman was more free form and about telling cool stories, lucifer is more about his goals and other peoples goals conflicting, he wanted to make his own universe, people wanted to kill him, god left, now people want to destroy the silver city and he wants to replace god and save the entire universe ||
Sandman ending and lucifer || Lucifer also focuses on like minor gods and demons being direct antagonist to lucifer, while sandman almost never fought even when he had someone opposing him ||
I really didnt want to finish lucifer today cause its alot of chapters, but this last like 20 chapter stretch has been one long arc and you cant really stop it
similar thing happended in sandman really
Once the end was in sight it never stopped moving towards it
@white smelt would you read this ? || https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/898242574567997511/905947591609561148/Capture.PNG || SW
SW ||Holy fuck that sounds dumb
||
lmao ☠️
SW sequels ||I don't know, man. Everything about the sequel movies is super meh to me. I just don't know what they were thinking. Why did Palpatine spend so much resources building a secret army much bigger than the Empire/Separatists droid army. It's just so convoluted. Just trying to explain why he had a secret army while he was losing to rebels and making me care is a tall order.||
SW Sequels ||Just plans within plans within plans cause he's super smart tee hee. 😴 ||
SW || yeah seriously, and what hurts the most is now they're trying to backfill all these events with Exegol to make it more believable when the writers really were trying to find an excuse to push Palp back into the main storyline. ||
Yep
😪
SW Sequels ||I mean Clone Wars made the prequels better so I suppose it's not out of the question if they manage to do it. It's just the Sequels logic is so dumb they really gotta pull off a miracle here.||
Lucifer chapter 68 || Have i mentioned how weird it is that fenris is the one causing the end of existance? One minor character in the collective mythology of all humans going toe to toe with the actual gods who created the universe ||
SW || Yeah I think they tried to do the same thing with the Resistance show but it got bad receptions (and it didn't really cover Sith if I'm correct).. I guess we'll see how it goes, but notice they're attempts have only been in comics and novels so far cause they're probably scared of what people would think yet as a series ||
Lucifer 68 || The actual devil, created by the actual god himself, fighting a wolf created by the imagination and belief of some guys on a island and somehow losing ||
Lucifer 68 || thats more like it ||
weekly reminder hyperion is getting an adaptation
I guess I should probably read it
3 body problem is getting one too but it's made by dumb&dumber
what is a hyperion
LOL really
sounds like either a pokemon or a greek myth
Tbf they are good at adapting
cant wait for my expectations to be subverted
Theyre good at cutting entire story arcs out of their adapatations
Just dont give them anything to write
look up the synopsis, worth it. dune-type sci-fi book, getting either a tv series or movie, not known yet, but its for sure happening
and its unironically called HYPErion?
yes
pogerion
there will be a lot of memes, earl
Hyper-ion
is there spice in hyperion?
theres also endymion, the sequel books
You know, I rewatched old dune and new dune
better stuff: ||the shrike||
Dune ||They never fucking said Spice Melange in the new one did they? They didn't even name Arakeen smh my head||
becuz of GoT?
yes
No
Until stormlight gets adapted it wont be good
are superhero based shows
is stormlight even close
i heard its meh
I heard foundation is being carried hard by jared harris
but hear nothing about the show itself
thats what i heard too
also i hope raised by wolves season 2 is good...
another sci-fi tv series
I tried watching raised by wolves it was interesting but weird
earl watch the expanse
final season is about to air sometime in december
nice then i can binge the whole thing
I'm not even 5 minutes into "The Harder They Fall" and already in shock
did they fall that hard
harder than you could imagine
might check that out
more like borius
word I'll let you know what I think
im meh on jared leto in general, unless morbius really wows me
It looks like something Sony would make as well
what is hyperion about, earl?
Im sure most ppl probably forgot about this until trailer 2 dropped a whole year later
yeah it has that SSU vibe
That Sony vibe ain't a good thing with me
It has that feeling that it's trying to be modern
yeah
best way to explain it, without starting to go into rabbit holes of explanations ||In the 29th century, the Hegemony of Man comprises hundreds of planets connected by farcaster portals. The Hegemony maintains an uneasy alliance with the TechnoCore, a civilisation of AIs. Modified humans known as Ousters live in space stations between stars and are engaged in conflict with the Hegemony.
Numerous "Outback" planets have no farcasters and cannot be accessed without incurring significant time dilation. One of these planets is Hyperion, home to structures known as the Time Tombs, which are moving backwards in time and guarded by a legendary creature known as the Shrike. On the eve of an Ouster invasion of Hyperion, a final pilgrimage to the Time Tombs has been organized. The pilgrims decide that they will each tell their tale of how they were chosen for the pilgrimage.|| hyperion synopsis

the two or three things that are extremely hype are ||the technocore, its an ally, an enemy, an onlooker all at once, the shrike, an invicible legendary metal god being that puts people in the giant metal tree of pain, torturing them for eternity, and the time tombs|| hyperion
Interesting
||the hegemony of man relies heavily on AI to function, in there also lies the problem as well||
I have the first book. I got it at some garage sale pretty sure lol
just never bothered to read it
worth it
it's just nice to see more fantasy and space opera being adapted
I still have the YT playlist favorited for Hyperion, Ima watch through it soon 😄
can't even remember the last big space opera tv series
another hype aspect of the plot ||the existence of an alien parasite called the cruciform, looking like a small crucifix when its on one's body, in the 29th century religions like catholicism are dying out, one of these priests of the dying faith go on the pilgrimage to hyperion, and there encounter a weird civilization of people embedded with the cruciform, and what happens after he interacts with the civilization....well youd have to read to find out|| hyperion , sort of spoily but worth to hype you about it
really spoily bit if you wanna go all in on the hype: ||the cruciform basically makes you immortal ,but also makes you lose you genitals(you become sexless), dumbs you down, and makes your face look the same as other people with cruciforms , the first priest that encountered the civilization was infected with the cruciform, then tried to kill himself in the forest of flames, but after impaling himself on one of the fire trees, found out he couldnt die, so stayed there for a reallllly long time, until a second priest found him, and made a new religion around the cruciform
|| hyperion deep spoilers
thats just one small aspect of the overall plot, like a side story, but yeah this show is gonna be metal af
Better Call Saul final season Spring 2022
nice
Wonder if the BB universe is over for good after BCS
I think it should end. It’s perfect
Nah I think El Camino is good enough as the aftermath material
Ah
but still shit wouldnt stick
yeah
It being up to interpretation makes it good
and i think they understand that BB, camino, and BCS is as much as they can get without milking things
Yep. Sad, but it’s for the best
I hope Vince Gilligan makes another show as good as those. He’s an amazing director and writer
The boys is cool but it wont be remembered along side breaking bad or the wire or anything
squid game tbh
Oh for sure SG
neither will squid game probably
cause those are pretty much the best shows period
don't think i've heard of it
BB and GoT was before Netflix started pumping out series that made it easy to watch a bunch of stuff... its hard to say anythings as big as those things now
Its on hbo max, 3 seasons
House of Cards maybe? Or what about Westworld lol
Like I think house of cards was the second netflix original series ever
westworld hype fizzled
people realized it wasnt very good after season 2 or something
Westworld died fast lol
i heard s 2 of west world was bad but i never finished s 1 so i cant talk
S2 was good I think
Westworld just got weird
S3 was where it became questionable
house of cards and westworld shat the bed really bad to be remembered
S3 WestWorld was just a reboot type thing
I didn't even watch it
And it took away from the main idea of the show
hated kevin spacey since i was 12 so i never watched house of cards
called he was a weird mf before shit happened
Only Kevin spacey material I know is him from COD Advanced Warfare lol
lol
lol
most notable thing i remember from him was i think it's called pay it forward
he was good in House of Cards though
He’s actually a good actor and voice impressionist. He just fucked up lol
yeahh
Anyway, Dexter is actually becoming pretty good. I’m a little over halfway of S1
But holy fuck I have 7 seasons left to go. That’s 84 episodes ☠️
nice, Dexter is good
midexter
season 4 was my favorite
I hear S4 is the last good season lol
The main writer from the first 4 seasons is back for New Blood at least
So when I finish the 8 seasons I have something to look forward to lol
yeah for sure, I'm real excited for New Blood... the plot alone is a lot to look forward to
Is it confirmed as the last season or is it a new series with multiple seasons that will end Dexter?
idk I haven't heard it to be a new series with multiple seasons yet. But if they leave the ending open to more stuff and reception is good, I can see another season
Date night with the bae. Watching Salo!!
Solo*?
Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom..?
Anya Taylor Joy 👀
Kevin Spacey used to be in so much shit
I’ll have you know, I resisted the urge to make a very inappropriate joke in response to that
reminder the man posted some crazy videos one of them he's in character as frank from house of cards
bizarre stuff
that shit was fuckin nuts, was that ever explained lol
he's just that batshit
word I loved it. Ima watch it again tomorrow 🤣
watch what again tomorrow
The Harder They Fall
It’s a really good cast
Holy fuck
I knew it would be mid but not this bad
Yeah
bet audience reviews are going higher because people feel the need to combat the low tomatoe score
It’s probably just an entertaining watch
I remember Transformers got eaten up by critics but I personally loved it
Tokyo Drift too… just fun movies that critics don’t see any depth with
Good theory lol
I feel I’m the only one expecting to like this movie lol
If I ever get around to watching it I’m expecting to be entertained
But nothing too massive like jumping out of my seat
Just a simple “that was cool” lol
Yeah… critical are so harsh with MCU now if it doesn’t hit the MCU standards theyre gonna sink it, but I don’t really think that means it’s not good
I mean MCU standards are all over the place. Iron 2/3 got generally good reviews first two Avengers etc
mcu pulling a justice league
I feel post end game the standards are even higher
Like Far From Home and Shang Chi were genuinely amazing films post end game but I feel Eternals have even higher expectations
post wano
Wow edited
Lmao
kinda let down by eternals
The first Avengers movie was great
but i would say its not as bad as critics have rated it
no sir
Damn. So eternals took an L huh
I'm only seeing this because my friends asked me to go watch it with them
it will be worth i did say , definetly not as bad as ''critics'' rate it
I'm ready for someone to legit tell me how they liked the movie lol
Eternals is a movie or a series
movie
Speaking of eternals, how u guys liking what we do in the shadows
I don't watch comedies anymore
Pity
Anyways
The first 2 seasons are so good
Heard the third one is great
Need to find the time
ya man idk, I just realized its not for me anymore. Like I enjoy some comedy with a bit of drama like how I was watching the On My Block show, but I can't get into pure comedy anymore. I find it hard now to go into a show with the pure expectation to laugh
yeah like there's def some aspect of comedy that's interesting. granted I haven't watched this trailer and don't know much about it so I can't speak for it
Is Maisel considered a comedy
A mix of both
marvelous ms maisel?
Yeah
yeah I thought it was genuinely funny
|| omg I didn’t expect the doctor dude to be the ice truck killer holy fuck || Dexter S1 E8
Dark Knights of Steel 1 || that is a really strong start to this series, looking forward to more, the entire storyline being an alternate history timeline provided a twist st the start as well as a twist at the end, good stuff ||
I really need to start this at some point
I would like to mention that Lego Batman and the Ninjago were great movies.
I totally recommend watching them
cool never heard of Ninjago before
It's a ton of fun
Sorry if this was posted already
Morbius trailer ||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_lZnQPVrcg||
In the new Morbius trailer we learn that Dr. Michael Morbius has been missing for two months, and was eventually found on a container ship. After almost dying, Morbius finds that he is stronger than ever, with increased speed, hearing, and he's also able to fly. Now on the hunt for blood, he is unsure what he's capable of, and questions whether ...
