When watching the movie, I thought his mother had contacted her and told her about the visions and wanted her son to be checked but instead she whooped out the hand-in-a-box test. They also said there was supposed to be suspense for whoever the traitor was both in the book and the original movie but this movie it was just mostly glossed over and didn't really have the build-up. And apparently there's imperial conditioning which is shown by the forehead tattoo the doctor had which was supposed to be the hint or w/e. ||

ATLA book 3 ||end of book 2 really is the greatest shift ever. Coming off of getting Appa back they finally get the support of the earth king and ba sing se then everything goes wrong just like that. I like how they showed gaang have to come to terms with that, especially aang himself. And yeah I love the scene of aang shaving his head again, and how symbolic the arrow is for him.||

||I enjoyed it a lot , it’s a really hard book to adapt in general, it tried to say faithful and gave scenes room to breathe , I get the complaint of jumping around a lot , but that felt only exclusive to the first half of the movie while the latter half of it tied in things a lot , having read the book recently I was able to follow the visual references , didn’t feel like I felt lost. The length of the movie wore me out a little tho , can’t wait for part 2!|| dune 8.5-9/10

Dune , further thoughts ||I like that Jessica shows a bit more emotion in the movie than what is seemingly in the book, in the book it merely says that bene gesserit are reserved and know how to contain their emotions , not that they’re COMPLETELY devoid of emotions or empathy , that’s why Jessica still broke down a bit in emotions whenever she wasnt in front of somebody , she would contain her feelings until she is in private space , mostly. She was such a badass too, very impressed with Jessica’s portrayals in general. Wish we got more stuff about mentat abilities but that was easy enough to figure out for first time viewers after a couple scenes of its use. I love the dreams/visions Paul has , it’s like varied dreams , not just one consistent dream. There is definitely attention to subtle detail In this film all over||
||loved the scenes of training the voice , some things that weren’t shown that we expect I still expect to see in part 2||

Spice is extremely essential , for the fremen it’s a cultural thing they are in tune with , for the galactic civilizations, it’s the ONLY way period for long distance space travel , it’s the only planet you could get that resource from , it’s also highly addictive , makes you more aware of your surroundings , gives you visions/trips, heightened senses etc and the harkonnen love hoarding that shit. Spice could be like a metaphor for oil/drugs || dune
