||yea idk i feel conflicted about it. on one hand, yea the others did have a choice and he even voted on getting out the first time the vote happened to let the people who didnt want to play get out. on the other hand, putting this much money into people who are struggling beyond means and telling them this is money you will never be able to earn is kind of hypnotizing them in a way. most of them were desperate enough to sign that contract once they saw the solution to every life problem hanging above their heads. and on top of that, use their lives as measly pawns for some annoying af white VIPS to bet on isnt something i can vibe with no matter how the old man wanted to put it. at the end of the day, the rich got bored and decided to play with the poor lives is how i saw it|| squid game finished

||what made SZN 1 so great was the shock factor of it all. the intensity of the unique chracters and the story break down from there, i feel all of that would be neglected now that we know a lot of things. plus the MC is kewl but he was prob barely top 5 interesting character compared to the old guy, the north korean girl, sang woo, ali, the crazy bih. you can add new characters but a deep dive into finding the hellhole isnt really an interesting concept to me nor is it squid game becuz they wont rlly let him participate again. only interesting character left alive is the guy who gets them into the games but other than that, no one|| squid game potential szn 2 thoughts

||i think it goes back to the old mans philosophy, that extremely rich and extremely poor have one thing in common, not enjoying life, so he wanted to, in a superficial way, just combine those two types of people and let them have "fun" with extreme risk for an extreme prize, all by choice, his inherent flaw though is he didnt trust people, he was a jaded man , and came to the conclusion of having this game because of a fucked up sense of morality somewhere along the way in his life, this is shown by the person who went by the drunk guy earlier coming back to get help, his "philosophy" in the end was wrong, even if to him he seemed to do it for "fun" and let people participate by choice, it was still wrong|| squid game end

Squid Game episode 9 ||I think I would have preferred it if he made it to the USA and then eventually joined a game there. When the VIPs flew in, it was implied that Korea had one of the best, thus implying that there are games in other countries. Obviously this has a whole bunch of production problems as obviously this is a korean-based film and they'd have to basically do all filming in US with a bunch of americans and have everyone speak english, but I think this would just be a better idea as just destroying it for Korea isn't going to end all the games. I was wondering when they were gonna explain the host, but I wasn't expecting the old man. However, I think the choice was very odd considering he could have easily died in tug-of-war and the nightly beat down and instead chose to be saved after losing all his marbles, both literally and fake-metaphorically since it was all an act||
