bojack horseman ||as great as that ep is, my favorite is still the monologue ep. it goes by so fast despite it being a 25min monologue, they really pulled it off well. it's also really telling of bojack's character. the TV influence on his life, his relationship with his parents, childhood, last days with his mother, his tone deafness, etc etc. it's like a flashback/recap ep done really well. ||

I really liked the fathers character, and he wasn’t exactly evil but just wanted to do what he thought was right, albeit being very hard headed about it until the last second. Some minor details I liked were things like when he used the rings to jump high he also used them to soften the landing, as well as all of the effects for the rings ||

ATLA / Korra || ATLA has more room to “be good” as all of their episodes are somewhat episodic despite having an overarching plot. Since it’s episodic, if there’s an episode that’s kinda bland it’s forgotten about because it doesn’t affect the story overall. Each book, unlike korra, doesn’t have a singular villain, but rather it’s about the element aang is learning, so it allows for more returning characters, and more buildup for the overarching villain of the story, the fire lord. For korra, every episode kinda segways into each other so if one episode is bland, it effects the entire story the book is trying to tell. Unlike ATLA each book contains one singular major villain, which can affect the quality of the entire book. The recurring cast is mainly composed of the main and secondary characters, rarely will characters from previous books return. Overall though, korra is pretty good and stands on its own despite what people may say. Only book 2 is bad but the rest is really good ||
