Mistborn era 2 book 1 Alloy of Law [MAJOR SPOILS, also spoils Era 1 trilogy ending] || excellent read. Wayne and Wax are now my second favorite duo in fantasy, the dynamic is just so fun between them. I liked the parallels between miles and Kelsier. Marasi is delightful, I like how she lapses into blurting out trivia when she's in shock. I hope she gets a happy ending. By Sanderson standards though, the book mostly feels like warmup. The scale didn't seem anywhere as grand as Era 1 Book 1, and I can't even compare it to WoK because that thing is just too long. Suit being Wax's uncle was kinda predictable. Do people know about hemallurgy in this world? I didn't see any mentions of it from any of the characters, only that last bit at the end with ironeyes (that is Marsh, right? I am kinda hazy about the era 1 ending ). Seems fun, I like that the books are short ( relative to Sando, obviously ). Can't wait to start book 2.||

allow of law || yea the scale felt a bit smaller, it didn't gave me the same high fantasy feel of era 1 but it was still enjoyable. Marasi is a cutie . Some ppl know about hemalurgy but since it was kinda a "dark arts" of the big 3 it was mostly forgotten/not recorded, I mean it was up to sazed and his book at the end of era 1 right? so my guess is that he didn't feel the need to write anything about it||

Mistborn Era 2 Book 2 ||Fucking awesome book, the ending fucking rocked. Can't wait to see what's gonna happen to Wax now, practically his entire belief system has been turned upside. Wayne was super fun as always, and the banter between him and MeLaan was brilliant. I like how Marasi has matured quite a bit over the course of the book. The relationship between Wax and Steris, though only shown very briefly, also looks pretty promising. It was nice seeing Sazed and TenSoon, though I don't really know what I am supposed to make of Harmony/Sazed||

What would be a good book to introduce an adult to fantasy? They don't like kiddy stuff like Artemis fowl or Harry Potter or shit, but find big heavy universes like Sando and GRRM intimidating

Something that is an easy enough read with decent characters and doesn't require too much background knowledge

I couldn't land on one despite having read so much fantasy

My copies are quite a bit battered, and the plague copy has handwritten notes from someone named Jenni brown

But the books are pretty good

Amd Jenni has beautiful handwritting

It feels special you know, it's like holding a part of someone's memories in my hand

It's the same thing from what I read by borrowing from library the first time. The library had shutted down just before covid and I guess they were in haste and sold it cheap or smth

Yeah I go to used books stores too but they almost always have exclusively reference books

Like there's one or two ik that stock fiction, but not many
