Way of Kings part 1 (just before the first interlude) || Promising start to the series. Caught a few references to the events in the prologue/prelude, felt nice spotting them. The gravity magic system used by Szeth doesn't seem "incredible" yet (it's good but not really standout or something), but that's probably only because this is Sanderson we are talking about and it hasn't been fully explored in the book yet. Kaladin is looking promising, he had a good start, I like where his character is rn and can't wait to read more. Syl is also fine, but idk, she just feels a little... Cheesy? Can't find a proper word to describe her. I am not yet sure about Shallan, the wicked tongue is kinda alright, apart from that feels kinda average as a character. Haven't read enough of Jasnah to judge yet if you ask me, but I kinda like her vibe. I hope Yalb's role hasn't ended, he's fun lol. Overall pretty good start to the book.||

|| I’m a bit confused here, just wanna make sure i understand this correctly, so the Heralds were “sent to teach mankind” (which im assuming are the 10 lads in the prelude) and to fight against the Voidbringers (whomever they are), they then founded “The Radiants” which was an order of knights which seems to be disliked by the Ardents, because they were the ones who “betrayed” them (them as in mankind im assuming) after the Heralds left (them leaving was shown in the prelude, with them stabbing their swords in the ground and abandoning their “mission/duty” (whatever that may be)) ||

Imo when tropes are written well, they end up being just as original as any "non-trope" character you could pick and because it also triggers ( at least in my case) the familiarity from have read tons of "tropes" in my childhood, can easily deliver superb experiences
