westworld s3 ||honestly had high hopes for it, but it fizzled out quick. sluggish narrative, writing and choreography were all over the place for me. the non-linear storytelling was fun in the first season, now it's SO tired and convoluted i have a hard time keeping track. i felt like jeffrey wright's character, bernard, was such a highlight of all 3 seasons, that it was a shame he wasn't woven into the story of the third season a bit more. also i can appreciate what the showrunners are going for by expanding the scope of the story, but god do i miss the idea of being thematically bound to a certain time period like the wild west. it's what made s1 so fun to watch.||

westworld s3 ||and believe it or not, one of the most annoying things about s3 was the fight choreography. hand-to-hand was alright, but any sort of gun fight was so tiring because of all of the "henchmen have a clear shot but either never shoot or shoot at the ground while the character in focus headshots them". i get suspension of disbelief, but it can only be suspended past a certain point before it starts getting ridiculous. Also in one of the climactic fights near the end of the season between maeve and dolores, the direction/editing was just a mess. rapid cuts that were unnecessary. left me w/ a sour taste in what was an exciting lead up||

The weird thing is how dream and everyone there was human in form more or less, i thought dream took a human form only after he started interacting with humans. But throwing this all on fSociety and after watching what just went down with Mobley and Shama… I very much hate her! Kudos to the writers for creating an antagonist of just pure evil. But I can’t have anything happen to Elliot and Darlene… my heart will just sink. On a side not, Angela has really redeemed herself. westworld season 3 || I didn't hit me the same way as the well crafted mind-boggling timeline crazyness of season 1 and maybe s2. By s2 it was already getting tiresome when they started trying the same thing again but it was still enjoyable for the new twists, but season 3 changed so much and added so little it really felt flat. ||
