Stormlight book 1 chapter 29 ||this chapter was amazing, the ideological debate between atheism and christianity was done so fucking well even if the kharbranthian king was very ignorant, because it was actually acknowledged as ignorant and not just a caricature. It allowed jasnah's rethorical skills to shine so much and i actually love her.
As for shallan, i fucking love the portrayal of her trauma and it reflected into her drawings, tho i imagine there is more to it. 10/10 chapter||

Also noted, I've just heard good things from Watchmen and was curious
Watchmen is one of those things that is good on its own but is elevated to new heights when you're familiar with the history of western super hero comics cause it's deconstructing the genre and it uses facsimiles of super heroes as stand ins. I think there are benefits from putting a few comics under your belt before reading it, as harsh suggested.
Same with Sandman and Lucifer I feel.

||so essentially what i take so far as of near the end of issue 2 is that kraven represents the past: afraid of change, longing for the return of old society, etc. spidey represents the present through the way he upholds such a modern setting’s peace, and we can see how kraven sees things this way through his fear of both societal development and spider-man in the same dialogue. i believe vermin represents the future, talking about the newspaper as something he’s “read once before” which i think can be a metaphor for events (not specific just in general) having occurred at some point, which seems like a stretch but they placed a TON of emphasis (almost a whole page) on this one aspect. he also says that spider-man “hurt him” which i think can also be a metaphor for everything in the present affecting the future and possibly a chaos theory kinda thing. when vermin talks about captain america also “possibly” harming him too i think cap could be symbolizing false memories and people tend to think things that never even happened affected them in such a grand way. vermin also wants to remain in the dark which could also be a “the future is unknown” kinda thing. vermin also says he will go out of the sewers “tomorrow” which supports the him representing the future idea because tomorrow is an idea that will never come and that the future is always taking refuge in. ||
