Did not feel like it was a necessary continuation of Jesse’s story. Did not feel like it added anything to Breaking Bad. Felt as though it was filling space and was written for television which made it pretty unexciting for a film. Doesn’t even really examine Jesse as a character in any interesting ways that the show didn’t already.

Fair enough if people liked it, it’s not exactly terrible by any stretch. If people really wanted to see what happened to Jesse after the end of “Felina” then great. Personally I could have gone without seeing it and I did. And I don’t think the ending of the show warranted a sequel like this coming out six years later which doesn’t really bring anything new or interesting to the table for Jesse’s story. The culmination of his story was always then when ||he refused to kill Walt and escaped from both external and internal captivity.||
I don’t say this to shit on everyone’s fun. If people were satisfied with it for nostalgia’s sake and getting to see Walt and Jesse again then that’s fine. But for me personally it just didn’t do anything.

Idk, it was written by the actual creator of the series , so I see it as a almost necessary canon continuation , breaking bad did end with a few loose ends , that weren’t entirely important to resolve but it’s just better to see Jesse actually move on from the trauma instead of leaving him off as a man on the edge , and then ending the series . I saw lots of traces of the creators writing in the movie and that’s what I came to see , the movie was a bit of fan service but it made me feel some tension like the show did again. As well as that, some scenes were straight up reconstructions of past scenes in breaking bad, except it turned those situations on their heads and absolutely made fun of them on purpose , such as the scene where ||Jesse tells the guy he shouldn’t shoot at him cause it’s gonna cause more problems for him||, that is basically making fun of those situations in the show , saying how they were basically unnecessary , also the scene ||with the money bag in the shop||, also a deconstruction of past scenes , as well as the ||stand off near the end||, all those things were basically comical situations of past breaking bad scenes that poked fun at them on purpose , also the ||flashbacks to Jesse’s captivity was great|| this was a good movie for people that loved the show I feel @pale tapir @north sun

||Seeing Jesse so broken in the flashback was very upsetting. Like damn, in the flashback had a chance to escape and he didn't because he didn't wanna kill someone again probably. That further illustrated that, he's a good guy. He didn't kill the whole movie unless he had to, and plus he did little things which showed throughout the whole movie, that even though he's been through so much shit, he's still the same punk kid we all knew from the beginning. Maybe a little more clever and smarter, and with more damage, but Jesse is still good. It gave me closure on his story, and I like that.||

Dirty Harry is a noir (of sorts) set in 70's San Francsico
and Heartbreak Ridge is a military comedy set in the 90's
these are his best ones

For recent, I'd recommend Unforgiven - which is also a western
Trouble with the Curve - which is a sports drama
