I was wanting kaladin and dalinar to meet up as soon as i knew kaladin was going to the shattered plains and its nice now that its happened, i like pretty much all the their interactions but kaladin's story in twok is pretty peak and idk if anything will ever stand up to that ||

And Cett's daughter is urging him to go back there, too. Vin and Elend are on their way to the Well of Ascension (based on Sazed's "lies," of course). So far, I think Part 5 is fine, but it's not hitting me as hard as the first book's ending section has. Granted, I'm not done yet, and there might be more crazy stuff to come.||

Like i was enjoying that part more||

OB ||Its mostly not even a case of it being bad its just me enjoying the plot of the other ones more. The only one real issue I have with oathbringer as i can remember it, is that dalinars non backstory stuff is pretty boring for like 90% of it until the end. I thought his politicing was p boring||

Oathbringer ||fair enough. I liked his attempt at politics because he was trying to be a better ma and I was interested to see his redemption and attempt to unite the world. Other than him though, I enjoyed kaladin and shallans arc as well as szeth. And the climax was the best of the first three easily for me. I geniunely thought it was over and they’d have to escape prison and a post apocalyptic world||

These next two books as also insanely thick. Surely part 2 of Stormlight won’t immediately start at 1300+ pages

TWOK 57 || this was a difficult chapter to read, specifically the Wit part. So if I understand this correctly, Kaladin (similarly to the peaceful people of the islands from the story) hides behind his excuse of being cursed to justify his failures/to not take responsibility. Now that his curse may not be a curse but actually a blessing. A blessing that will give him superpowers. Superpowers that could actually help him protect the bridgemen, powers that will actualize his responsibility. So if he asked Syl to make it all go away, he will essentially be avoiding that responsibility. But if he didn't ask Syl to make it go away, if he accepted the powers, he would now be true to his goals of protecting the bridgemen. "Seize whatever opportunity he could, no matter how it changed him? No matter how it unnerved him, or what burdens it represented?" Idk if I understood exactly what the author was trying to convey ||

Mistborn book 2 - completed ||8.5/10 - Great book, better than the first for the most part. But at the same time, harder to keep up with all the little details (especially the assassination plot involving Elend and what Zane was lying about or not with Vin). However, the ending of this book I think was less impactful for me personally. I think the need to send Vin away only to bring her back a few pages later was just a waste of time, since she ultimately fought and could've figured out the Well was in the city eventually without leaving. Zane dying was a little anti-climatic, as I wanted more from his character, especially considering the spike inside his body. The Well of Ascension was as generic as it possibly can get - but I will get it some leeway, since the third book might explain it further. And on that note, a tiny bead of some unknown metal being the progenitor for Mistborn was a little meh; once more, I'll defer to the third book to give a satisfying conclusion. And I'm a little on the fence about some unknown power or entity just changing prophecy willy nilly because it wasn't carved into metal (this definitely needs explanation for me to accept it in the third book, 'cause it feels too convenient plot-wise). Finally, I'm very upset about Tindwyl's death - it works to further Sazed's downward spiral into atheism, but it is a level of harshness that went too far for my tastes within the context of Mistborn's deaths (this felt like something GRRM would do, take a woman who has suffered most of her life and then brutally kill her as soon as she found some semblance of happiness, further leaving her children motherless). There are brutal deaths in these books, but this felt cruel for cruel's sake. Final note: why didn't Sazed just tell Ham to pull the spike out of Marsh while he ran to Vin after the fight? That felt....dumb? Am I missing something there?||

Words of radiance ||mh problem with this book is that we spend most of the time in a very uninteresting location (the war camps). I was honestly surprised I was enjoying Shallan povs more than kaladin ones because kaladin might be my favorite character so far (I like Shallan a lot so this isn’t an insult). The book didn’t make me want to keep reading until kaladin and Shallan got stuck in the chasms. The kaladin szeth fight was elite though||
